Cricket News: 4 players Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) can target in the IPL 2023 Auction | Players RCB should buy for IPL 2023
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the perennial underachievers of the IPL, were eliminated by Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2022.
In the quest for their elusive first title, they have a balanced squad with most of the bases covered. They don’t have a big purse left, and Mike Hesson and co. will have to be smart with their picks at the auction table.
RCB needs a few backups for their first-choice players. They already have the likes of Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, Wanindu Hasaranga, Josh Hazlewood and Dinesh Karthik.

Players Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) can Target for IPL 2023
Joshua Little
Josh Hazlewood is the only overseas pace bowler in RCB. He did an excellent job last season but pace bowlers are more injury-prone and their workload needs to be managed well.
Ireland’s Joshua Little can be the perfect pick. Little has been in exceptional form in the last few months; he picked a hat-trick in the recently concluded T20 World Cup against New Zealand and is the top wicket-taker in T20Is in 2022 (39).
Little can pick wickets with the new ball and can bowl in the death overs as well. Also, he provides the left-arm angle that RCB lacks.
Vishnu Vinod
Dinesh Karthik had an exceptional season in IPL 2022; so good that he got into the national side for the T20 World Cup 2022.
However, he hasn’t been in the best of form lately and with age not on his side, RCB may look to get a backup wicketkeeper.
Indian uncapped player Vishnu Vinod may be a good pick for RCB. Vinod has the tag of an aggressive batter in the domestic circuit. He is very versatile in domestic cricket and can bat anywhere.
Sikandar Raza
Glenn Maxwell is one of the best all-rounders in T20 cricket. He is a crucial part of this RCB setup and has performed consistently since he joined the franchise.
However, they don’t have any backups for him. If he’s not in the best of form or gets injured during the tournament, RCB may struggle as a result. Sikandar Raza will be the like-for-like replacement for Glenn Maxwell. He can bowl four overs and is an excellent batter in the middle order. Raza has been in serious form this year and he certainly has the potential to succeed in the IPL.
Michael Bracewell
This may surprise many but Michael Bracewell is another excellent backup player for Glenn Maxwell. He hasn’t played a lot of international cricket but has been very impressive in the handful of games that he has played.
The Kiwi all-rounder bowls off-spin and is very destructive with the bat. He is a match-winner in the Super Smash T20 tournament. Also, Bracewell could come at a very cheap price, which can provide excellent value for RCB.
These are the four players that we think RCB can target in the upcoming IPL auction. The Royal Challengers Bangalore, as mentioned earlier, has an excellent squad. They have proven match-winners in their ranks. It’s very surprising that they are yet to win the title. They have the resources to do that in IPL 2023 and the players will be very determined to do so.
