Twitter reactions to England’s collapse in 1st ODI | IND vs ENG 1st ODI: Twitter reactions to England’s collapse in the 1st ODI vs India

Regardless of its context, an ODI series between powerhouses India and England is always bound to draw eyeballs. Of course, this is ultimately why India and England are playing each other for what seems like 100 times over the course of 2021.

So, when there is a collapse as mighty as England’s in the first ODI, the reactions are going to be widespread. Sitting pretty at 135/0 after 14.1 overs thanks to an incredible onslaught by Jonny Bairstow in particular, England then went on to lose 10/116 in the next 28 overs to be bundled out for 251 in pursuit of India’s 317/5.

Credit certainly goes to India’s bowlers, who responded brilliantly after the initial storm. Shardul Thakur’s game-changing ability was on show again, Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s incredible economy rate made another appearance, and Prasidh Krishna bounced back to take four on debut. But, for a side as talented as England, such a collapse draws plenty of reaction.

Here are some of the Twitter reactions to England’s collapse in the first ODI in Pune.
