Cricket News: Twitter reactions: Fans go mad as Nicholas Pooran takes 4 wickets in Multan ODI | Reactions as Pooran takes 4/48 against Pakistan

Nicholas Pooran rolled his arm over at the bowling crease. You read that right.

He dismissed Fakhar Zaman for his first international wicket. You read that right.

He then dismissed Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Haris and Mohammad Rizwan to finish with figures of 4/48 in his 10 overs in the third ODI against Pakistan in Multan. You read that right.

In one of the weirdest and remarkable spells of play in any cricket in 2022, Pooran, a wicket-keeper by trade, halted Pakistan’s momentum with his off-spin on a slow Multan pitch. The Pakistanis were not expecting the Windies captain to bowl, and it showed, as even their most experienced players had trouble dealing with a player who had only sent down six deliveries in his entire List A career before this match.

Twitter reactions as Nicholas Pooran takes incredible 4/48 vs Pakistan

Understandably, fans went mad on Twitter. “A wicket for Nicholas Pooran of Fakhar Zaman. I have no words,” one tweet read. “Cricket is a game of glorious uncertainty,” read another. It sure is.

And there is no doubt that Pooran’s spell will make for a great cricket trivia question in the years ahead. Here are some of the best reactions to it all.
