Cricket News: T20 World Cup 2022 warm up matches schedule & details | What is the schedule of the warm up matches of the 2022 T20 World Cup?

Teams have begun flying down to Australia for the T20 World Cup to commence their preparations for the mega tournament. The group stage fixtures will kick off from 16th October onwards. However, each side will get ample opportunities to warm up their tyres prior to the competition.

A set of practice matches will occur from 10th October-19th October at various venues. Sides will get a chance to square off against teams from other groups at this stage. This will provide them an opportunity to test their mettle against opponents whom they are likely to come up against in the later stages of the tournament.

Melbourne & Brisbane to host T20 World Cup warm up matches

Melbourne will be hosting eight warm-up games from 10th October-13th October. Four of these matches will be held at the Junction Oval in the city whereas the others will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). West Indies and Scotland will play a game each against Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in this time period. Sri Lanka will come up against Zimbabwe, Namibia and Ireland as well. Here is the list of the scheduled warm-up games from 10th October-13th October.

The next set of warm-up games will take place from 17th October-19th October. Actually, there will be four games on 17th October and three others on the 19th. Some of the marquee games include India’s match-ups against Australia and New Zealand. The Kiwis will also play against South Africa whereas Pakistan will be coming up against England and Afghanistan once on 17th and 19th respectively.
