Joburg Super Kings (JSK) will be against the Paarl Royals (PR) in the 18th game of SA20 2025-26. The venue for this game will be the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on 8th January 2026 at 9 PM IST.

The Joburg Super Kings had their first loss of this season in the last game against MI Cape Town. Their bowlers lost track towards the death overs, and they’d like to rectify that in this game. The batters have been in good form, but they’re still far from their full potential with the bat.

Rilee Rossouw will be a big miss, but the likes of Faf du Plessis, James Vince, and Donovan Ferreira have the experience. Shubham Ranjane, Wiaan Mulder, and Matthew de Villiers will have to contribute consistently for JSK to go a long way in SA20 2025-26.

Nandre Burger’s inclusion has bolstered their pace attack. Gleeson has been bowling well, but there is still room for improvement for the JSK bowlers. Overall, they’re in good form (2nd in the points table) and will be eyeing the top spot in this game.

Paarl needs consistency with the bat from the likes of Sikandar Raza, Rubin Hermann, and Kyle Verreynne. Bowling-wise, they’re doing a good job, especially Raza and Ottniel Baartman. Paarl bowled out MICT for just 88 in their last game. 

With two in-form teams, this promises to be a thrilling encounter.

• Sikandar Raza will bowl his full quota and will be a key player with the bat for Paarl in the middle order. He has seven wickets in two matches so far. Raza will be a popular C/VC option, as he will fetch points from both batting and bowling.
• Wian Mulder hasn’t really got the chance to bat properly in the last couple games, but he may get promoted to number 3 in this match. He’s bowling in the death overs for JSK and is someone whom you don’t want to drop from your fantasy teams.

Key bowler picks: 

• Akeal Hosein has five wickets in four games at an economy of 7.15. He can bowl in any phase of the innings and is capable with the bat too. Try him as C/VC in some of your teams. 
• Ottniel Baartman is the current highest wicket-taker of this season with 11 wickets in four games. He’s picking up wickets for fun and will bowl the important overs for the Royals. 
• Nandre Burger bowled well in the last match for JSK. He will be their lead pacer and will bowl in the powerplay and then in the death overs. He’ll be another must-pick in your fantasy teams.
• Richard Gleeson had a bad day in the office in the last game, but he’s still a top pick. He will bowl in the middle and death overs. Try him as C/VC while bowling first.

They need someone who can play a bit positively in the 7-15 overs mark, as Faf is doing a good job at the top and Ferreira is there towards the end. They may look to promote Mulder to 3 in this game. 

Paarl, meanwhile, has also done well with Tribe, Pretorius, and Miller being in good touch, but they also need some consistency in the middle order. 

Joburg Super Kings should win this game, as they have a good batting depth and quality compared to the Royals.
