The Indian Premier League (IPL) is among the biggest sporting leagues in the world. It is competing with other sporting leagues like the NFL, EPL, NBA, MLB, etc., which is a great sign for the league and cricket as a sport.
IPL’s overall valuation is somewhere around $16-18.5 billion, widely considered the second-highest after the National Football League (NFL). Since the Indian Premier League is valued so much, the value of the IPL franchises will be higher as well.
Recently two franchises – Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals were sold to new respective owners, and it has created a huge buzz in the cricketing and business sectors.

Most valuable IPL teams 2026
1. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)
RCB was recently acquired by a consortium led by the Aditya Birla Group. The valuation was $1.78 billion for men and the WPL side as well. After this deal, RCB is the highest valued franchise in the league.
2. Rajasthan Royals (RR)
The Rajasthan Royals also got sold to Kal Somani (US entrepreneur). The franchise was valued at $1.63 billion, including the franchises in the Caribbean Premier League and the SA20 league.
3. Mumbai Indians (MI)
The current brand value of the Mumbai Indians is $242 million, which makes them one of the highly valued teams in the IPL. Their overall valuation is estimated to be somewhere around $1.6-1.7 billion. They’re the joint most successful team in the IPL, with five titles to their name.
4. Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
CSK has also won five titles in the IPL, and they arguably have the biggest fan following in the entire tournament. Their brand value is $235 million, with their overall valuation estimated to be $1.3-1.4 billion.
5. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
KKR has 3 titles to their name, and their overall valuation is approximately $1.1-1.15 billion. Their brand value is around $222 million. KKR has a good fan following, and Shahrukh Khan being their owner makes them a popular franchise. They also have teams in the MLC, CPL, and ILT20.
6. Delhi Capitals (DC)
Delhi Capitals is one of the teams that are yet to win the IPL title, but like every IPL franchise, they have a good fan following. KL Rahul and Axar Patel are the two big names of the franchise. Their overall valuation is around $1-1.1 billion, with their brand value being $152 million. The Capitals have franchises in the SA20, ILT20, CPL, and the MLC as well.
7. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)
Owned by the Sun TV network, the Sunrisers Hyderabad have an overall valuation of around $1-1.05 billion. Their brand valuation is $154 million. The likes of Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan are the face of the franchise (domestic players). They have a sister franchise in the SA20 and a team in The Hundred.
8. Gujarat Titans (GT)
Gujarat Titans have an overall valuation of nearly $1 billion, and their brand value is $142 million. They won the IPL title back in 2022, which was their first year in the tournament. Skipper Shubman Gill is the face of GT.
9. Punjab Kings (PBKS)
The Punjab Kings lost the final of the IPL in 2025. Their fan following has increased since the last year. PBKS has an overall value of approx. $1 billion, and their brand value is $141 million.
10. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)
LSG is one of the two newest sides in the league. They have an overall valuation of nearly $1 billion, and their brand value is $122 million. Mr. Sanjiv Goenka from the RPSG group is the owner of the LSG franchise. They have teams in other cricket leagues around the globe.
