After rain spoiled the first T20I between England and India in Durham, eyes are now on the Manchester weather for the second match on Saturday. India scored 189/7 in the series opener courtesy of fifties by Abhishek Sharma and Shreyas Iyer, before inclement weather did now allow for a ball to be bowled in England’s innings.
Manchester has a history of rain-affected matches, including the fourth Test of the 2023 Ashes. There is a chance that showers could interrupt the second T20I today, which starts at 2:30pm local time.

The aforementioned platform predicts just 0.9mm of rain will fall in the afternoon at Old Trafford. According to its hourly forecast, there will be cloudy conditions between 2pm to 4pm with a chance of showers in the late afternoon. However, the chance of precipitation peaks at just 51% during the match hours, raising hopes of an uninterrupted match.

The BBC forecasts similar coniditions. The chance of precipitation peaks at around 3-4pm, but there should be enough breaks in the weather to allow for a full match.
In terms of team news, Jofra Archer returns for England while Josh Tongue will make his debut. For India, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi may have to wait a little longer for his debut, as hinted by bowling coach Morne Morkel.
