After a disastrous tour of Ireland and England, India have no time to dwell with a three-match T20I tour of Zimbabwe kicking off today.
Zimbabwe just lost the T20I series 1-2 against Bangladesh but they won the only Test match and ODI series (2-1). They will be pretty confident coming to this series based on their recent form, including qualifying for the Super Eight of this year’s T20 World Cup.
Brian Bennett, Sikandar Raza, Brad Evans, Richard Ngarava, and Blessing Muzarabani will be the key players for the hosts. They’ll need to be on their toes with the bat if they are to defeat the Indian team. Fielding – especially catching – is one area where Zimbabwe will have to be consistent in this T20I series against the defending World T20 champions.
On the other hand, India will be determined to do well in this series. They lost the T20I series 2-0 against Ireland, then lost the T20I series against England (4-0), followed by a defeat in the ODI series (1-2).
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will have another go in this series, and he’ll be itching to do well. Abhishek Sharma has been in decent form, and the likes of Ishan Kishan, Shivam Dube, and others must step up.
There are a few fresh faces in the bowling department for India with the likes of Ashok Sharma, Yash Thakur, and Harsh Dubey in the squad. Speedster Mayank Yadav has also returned to the T20I side after some time. Prabhsimran Singh may also make his debut in this series.

Harare Sports Club Pitch Report and Weather: Bowlers should have a say
The wicket at Harare won’t be straightforward for batting. The batters will have to work hard for their runs. Some movement is expected in the first innings with the new ball, and the bigger square boundaries will bring the spinners into the game. Teams may prefer chasing, but batting first won’t be a bad option either. Scores in the range of 160-180 are expected.
A sunny day will await both sides. The temperature will be in mid 20s (Celsius) at the start of the game.
Fantasy Cricket Tips for ZIM vs IND 1st T20I: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to announce himself on the senior international stage?
Top Wicket-Keeper Picks:
- Ishan Kishan did score a fifty in the last T20I against England, but he hasn’t had a lot of success lately. He will look to attack and can take on the bowlers from the first ball. Kishan will be the best wicket-keeper pick in fantasy cricket.
Key batter picks:
- Abhishek Sharma scored 59 and 43 in the first two T20Is against England but failed to get going post that. He is another very aggressive batter who will look to exploit the field restrictions. He made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe at Harare and has a century against them.
- Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will be eager to unleash and show his class on the international stage. He scored 175 at Harare in the final of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup. He will be a popular C/VC choice as well.
- Brian Bennett will open the innings for Zimbabwe, and he’s the best batter for his side. Bennett scored 97 against India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, and he has been in decent touch lately.
- Shreyas Iyer will be a top C/VC option considering he can bat according to the situation. Iyer was the only batter who showed some promise in the last two series for the Indian side.
Top all-rounder picks:
- Sikandar Raza will bowl his full quota and bat at 4 for his team. He’s the backbone for Zimbabwe and a proven performer over the years. Raza is capable of winning matches with both bat and ball, which makes him an ideal C/VC pick.
- Shivam Dube will bowl 2-3 overs and will bat in the middle/lower-middle order for India. He hasn’t been in the best of form, but he will contribute with both bat and ball, which makes it difficult to leave him out.
Key bowler picks:
- Brad Evans is another dynamic fantasy pick. He can tonk the ball down the order and will be the go-to bowler for the hosts. Evans scored 111 runs and picked up five wickets in the ODI series against Bangladesh, and he took four wickets in the T20I series as well. He is a must-pick for this match.
- Richard Ngarava took six wickets in two ODIs and eight wickets in three T20Is against Bangladesh. He’s picking up wickets for fun and will test the Indian batters with his hard lengths.
Other Players to Consider for Your Fantasy Cricket Teams
- Prince Yadav
- Blessing Muzarabani

IND vs ZIM 1st T20 2026 Match Prediction: Who will win?
India will start as the favorites, but things haven’t gone their way in recent times. They’ve failed to get going with the bat, and the Zimbabwe pacers will pose a big threat to the Indian batting unit.
The bowling unit is fresh, and it’ll be interesting how they tackle this challenge. For Zimbabwe, they’ll be in for a shot if they can hold their nerves with the bat.
India to win.
