Jordan Hermann has equalled for the highest individual score on ODI debut, smashing 150 off 126 balls against Namibia in Windhoek. He joins fellow South African Matthew Breetzke, who achieved the feat against New Zealand at Lahore in February 2025.
Hermann, who has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket, made his ODI opportunity count. He reached his century off 93 balls, before taking off and scoring 50 off his next 33 balls. This includes 21 off a single over bowled by seamer Jack Brassell.

Hermann, who plays for the Warriors in South African domestic cricket, made his ODI debut after scoring 1,093 List A runs at an average of 42.03 and strike rate of 88.07. He also has 3,463 First Class runs at 46.79.
“Jordan Hermann’s day just keeps getting better as the debutant brings up an extraordinary 150! A sensational innings of exquisite stroke play as Hermann makes his mark on the international stage,” wrote Cricket South Africa on their official X page.
Hermann was dismissed off the bowling off left-arm pace bowler Ruben Trumpelmann. It was a back-of-the-hand slower ball which Hermann tried to muscle through the offside, before he was caught at backward point.
Hermann achieved the feat in the first ODI between Namibia and South Africa. The two teams are playing a three-match ODI series after an exciting T20I tri-series where Namibia beat the Proteas in one match before South Africa bounced back with a tight win to reach the final.
In the final against Zimbabwe, Hermann hit 53 off 29 balls to win player of the match.
At the time of writing, South Africa are well placed at 284/3 after 43 overs after being sent in by Namibia.
