Moises Henriques will to join the Australian squad for the upcoming Test series with India. He joins as a replacement for Sean Abbott, who is out with a calf injury.
Australian team is dealing with more injuries with Sean Abbott ruled out of the Test after complaining about calf strain after the Sydney tour. Abbott will be stationed in Sydney until the second Test match for his treatment.
The host team and the selectors are in a real fix especially due to their top-order concerns. David Warner who made his comeback this year has been injured during short-form games against India. Moreover, debutant Will Pucovski who made exceptional scores in domestic cricket is also ruled out while Joe Burns is also going through a rough patch in terms of form.
Australia is stepping out with five fast bowlers – Mitch Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, James Pattinson, and Michael Neser and two spinners in Nathan Lyon and Mitch Swepson. And the hosts are going out with almost eight batters, with Green alongside Henriques, Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Travis Head, Matthew Wade, Joe Burns, and Marcus Harris.
Cricket Australia also said that Green has shown a good recovery speed. Green was collected by a full-blooded straight drive by India tailender Jasprit Bumrah and showed signs of a mild concussion.
