BBL 10 Match 55: REN vs HUR Preview Dream11 Possible 11 Pitch Report | MR vs HH Dream11 Prediction Today | Renegades vs Hurricanes Key Players | MCG Pitch Report
The equation is simple for Hobart Hurricanes. Win, and a playoffs spot is confirmed. Lose, and your fate depends on what happens elsewhere.
The immediate feel looking at this match on paper is that the Hurricanes will be too strong. D’Arcy Short and Matthew Wade are reunited at the top, and showed some of their BBL 08 form in their last match. The bowling attack, while not at their best, will be keen for a strong outing in a key game against opposition who’ve had a wretched season.
That opponent is Melbourne Renegades. The men in red have won just seven of 27 matches since lifting the BBL 08 Title two years ago, which is sure to bring about a review by management. Before then, Aaron Finch’s men will look to play spoilsport, just like they did to the Brisbane Heat a year ago.
Key Players to Watch/Key Stats
Melbourne Renegades:
- Aaron Finch has had an awful tournament (173 runs, avg. 14.41). However, he has had past success against Hurricanes (422 runs, avg. 46.89), so will he finish BBL 10 on a high?
- Sam Harper scored 66* (52) vs Hurricanes earlier in BBL 10.
- Shaun Marsh has been in poor form (14, 0, 24, 1 and 28 in his last five knocks), but enjoys playing the Hurricanes. Career record against them: 8 matches, 290 runs, avg. 41.43, SR 145.00.
- 20-year old Zak Evans has taken five wickets in his past two matches (2/23 and 3/34).
- Peter Hatzoglou has the most wickets for the Renegades in BBL 10 with 16 in 12 matches.
Hobart Hurricanes:
- Matthew Wade and D’Arcy Short are back together and firing. Wade was man of the match last game vs Sixers, with a superb 86 off 44 balls.
- Wade has a fine record vs Renegades (4 inns, 148 runs, avg. 37.00, SR 192.00). Short averages just 23 vs Renegades, but loves playing at the MCG (5 inns, 218 runs, avg. 72.67, SR 137.97).
- Ben McDermott loves playing the Renegades. He smashed 89* off 55 balls against them earlier this season, part of an incredible record: 7 inns, 415 runs, avg. 138.33, SR 153.14.
- The impressive Nathan Ellis now has 20 wickets in 13 matches in BBL 10. Also, he has taken four wickets in three matches vs Renegades.
- Scott Boland took an impressive 2/19 the last time he played Renegades, part of 16 wickets in 13 games in BBL 10.

MCG Pitch Report and Weather
Quite a lot of rain is forecast for the morning and early afternoon on Melbourne. There is a chance that much of the rain will clear by the mid/late afternoon, but there is also a chance that this match will be interrupted.
The rain could spice up the pitch a little, too. Last game, both Hurricanes and Sixers scored 180+ in a high-scoring match.

Weather permitting, the Hurricanes should win this one. The Hurricanes’ biggest threat is actually themselves, as the pressure of qualifying is on them.
