BBL 10 Match 7: THU vs HEA Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | HEA vs THU Dream11 Prediction Today | Thunder vs Heat Key Players | Manuka Oval Pitch Report

Sydney Thunder lock horns with the Brisbane Heat at Manuka Oval in as both the teams will look to get to their first win of the tournament. The two teams lost their respective opening games to Melbourne Stars at the same venue, and come Monday the teams will expect a reversal of fortunes.

The Thunder side fell short by 22 runs as other than the captain Ferguson and opener Alex Hales none of the batsmen stood up in the chase. The lower-order collapsed like a pack of cards as they lost seven wickets for the last 30 runs.

Among the bowlers, Tanveer Sangha, Daniel Sams and Chris Green picked 2 wickets each but the bowling attack as a whole wasn’t penetrative enough.

Brisbane Heat didn’t quite arrive against Stars as none of the batsmen scored more than 26 runs and above a strike rate of 114. They will expect a better batting performance against the Thunder in their attempt to join the winner’s circle in BBL 10.

BBL 10 Match 7: THU vs HEA Preview Dream11 – Chris Lynn to go big?

Key Players to Watch and Stats

Brisbane Heat

  1. Chris Lynn is the leading run-getter between the two sides with 467 runs at a strike rate of 175.
  2. Xavier Barlett and Matthew Kuhnemann were the two impressive bowlers in the powerplay vs Stars, as they conceded just 23 runs in the first 4 overs. Heat will be hoping for the same against Thunder, which is a top-heavy side.
  3. Ben Laughlin has enjoyed success against the Thunder in the past. He has taken 14 wickets in 13 matches against them.
  4. The unorthodox Jack Wood is one to watch. His unusual action seemed to take the Stars by surprise at times last game, which resulted in two wickets for the left-arm chinaman spinner.

Sydney Thunder

  1. Ben Cutting after nine seasons with the Brisbane Heat, has moved to the Sydney Thunder. He will be facing his former franchise in the second game of the season. He is the highest wicket-taker and the second highest run-getter of the Brisbane Heat.
  2. Alex Hales was off to a solid start in the first game (46 off 41) and will be looking to convert his rhythm into a big score in the second game. He will also look to improve his strike rate.
  3. Callum Ferguson scored a fifty in the previous game and will be a key component for his side against the Chris Lynn-led side. Also, Ferguson smashed 73* (44) vs Heat in BBL 09.
  4. Daniel Sams, who took 30 wickets in BBL 09, took four wickets in two games against the Heat last season. He is coming off a good start to BBL 10, after taking 2/24 (3) vs the Stars.
  5. Tanveer Singh impressed with 2/26 on BBL debut vs Stars.

Stats and Facts

  • The head-to-head record between the two sides is pretty lopsided as Thunder have won just 2 games while the Heat side have been victorious 8 times. However, the two teams won a game apiece in the last edition.
  • Heat have never lost to the Thunder while chasing.
  • Usman Khawaja averages 23.00 in five innings vs Heat (115 runs). Can he improve on those numbers?

Possible Playing 11

Even after the defeat in the previous game, it is unlikely that both the teams will make any changes to their respective line-ups.

Sydney Thunder: 1. Usman Khawaja, 2. Alex Hales, 3. Callum Ferguson (c), 4. Alex Ross, 5. Ben Cutting, 6. Daniel Sams, 7. Chris Green, 8. Nathan McAndrew, 9. Baxter Holt (wk), 10. Jonathan Cook, 11. Tanveer Sangha

Brisbane Heat: 1. Max Bryant, 2. Sam Heazlett, 3. Chris Lynn (c), 4. Daniel Lawrence, 5. Tom Cooper, 6. Jimmy Pierson (wk), 7. Simon Milenko, 8. Jack Wood, 9. Xavier Bartlett, 10. Matthew Kuhnemann, 11. Ben Laughlin

Manuka Oval Pitch Report and Weather

In the first two games, batting was fairly easy on the track and the same will be expected in this game. Both the teams didn’t quite take advantage of the wicket and they will be aiming to rectify their mistakes in the upcoming game. No rain is forecast for this match.
