CPL 2021 Match 17: SKN vs SLK Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | SKN vs SLK Dream11 Prediction Today | St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs St Lucia Kings Key Players | St Kitts Pitch Report
What a way to break the streak. First, Faf du Plessis put behind a poor start to his CPL 2021 campaign in the best way possible with a breathtaking 120* to drive St Lucia Kings to 224/2. Secondly, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots suffered defeat for the first time this season, and in thumping fashion too by 100 runs.
So, what will the response be 24 hours later? To make the challenge that extra bit greater, Dwayne Bravo is all but set to be ruled out due to a groin strain, which is a big gap to fill for St Kitts. The bowling attack will be aiming to step up in his absence against a top order that put them to the sword yesterday, so it will be interesting to see how the previously undefeated St Kitts respond.
Key Players to Watch/Key Stats
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots:
- Evin Lewis enjoys playing against St Lucia, and this was on show yesterday with his 42-ball 73. He has 366 runs against them at an average of 33.27, with a strike rate well above 160.
- Can Chris Gayle find his top form? In 13 matches, Gayle has struck 406 runs vs St Lucia at an average of 50.75 and strike rate nearing 160. He scored just 14 yesterday.
- Sherfane Rutherford scored three half-centuries in the first four games of CPL 2021, followed by scores of 1 and 11. He has just 67 runs in five innings vs St Lucia at an average of 13.4. Big game for him.
- Fawad Ahmed was the only bowler to hold his own yesterday (1/23). He now has seven wickets in six matches vs St Lucia.
- Sheldon Cottrell will be key in the absence of Bravo. He had a tough day yesterday (0/39 off three overs). He will be aiming to build on his five wickets in six matches vs St Lucia.
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots:
- What a return to form for Faf du Plessis. He had scored just 26 runs in his first four matches in CPL 2021, and had just 179 runs at an average/strike rate of 17.90/99.44 vs St Lucia before his outstanding 120* yesterday. He will be key again.
- Roston Chase is in some outstanding form. He has smashed 85 and 64* in his last two matches. Also, he has been dismissed just once against St Kitts (5 inns, 130 runs, avg. 130), along with taking four wickets.
- Andre Fletcher has the second-most runs in SKN-SLK matches, with 319 at an average of 29 and strike rate touching 130. He will be looking to build on yesterday’s start (23).
- Tim David wasn’t needed yesterday. He has two low scores (0 and 15) since his superb knocks of 58 (29) and 44 (32) earlier in CPL 2021. He will be key in the finisher role for SLK.
- Alzarri Joseph (3/27) and Keemo Paul (3/23) were the big wicket-takers yesterday. Paul has 13 wickets in nine matches vs St Kitts, and will be looking to add to that tally today.
- Kesrick Williams has taken seven wickets in his last three matches (4/24, 2/7 and 1/23). He is a genuine wicket-taker in T20s, with 136 wickets in 104 matches. Also, he has 14 wickets in 10 matches against St Kitts.

Match Prediction
The injury to Dwayne Bravo is a problem for St Kitts. St Lucia have the potential to score big again today, and will need to do so against a St Kitts batting lineup looking for redemption.
Score of 170 batting first to be a winning one? Could very well be.
