The hosts have been outstanding, making World Test Champions Australia look third rate for most of the contest, putting themselves in a great position to level the series 2-2.

One session of play was possible on day four. Marnus Labuschagne struck his second away hundred right when the team needed it. He put on a 103-run stand with Mitchell Marsh (31*), reducing the deficit below 70 in the process.
Joe Root and Moeen Ali looked the most threatening of the bowlers on a pitch aiding turn and uneven bounce for the spinners. Should there be some play, batting conditions are sure to be challenging with the overcast conditions, pressure of the situation and footmarks for the spinners to exploit.
