Cricket News: England squad for South Africa ODIs: Is Jofra Archer included? | Is Jofra Archer in England’s ODI squad?
Jofra Archer has been named in England’s 14-man squad for their ODI tour of South Africa in late January. The fast bowler is set to play his first international since March 2021 after a series of elbow and back issues.
Archer, who was England’s leading wicket-taker in the 2019 World Cup, will be hoping for a big year. Should he get through the South Africa series unscathed, he will then head to India to link up with Mumbai Indians for IPL 2023. Then, there are the Ashes and ODI World Cup.
“I’d rather take these last few months very seriously, more serious than probably all of the rehab,” Archer said in his bowling stint at Abu Dhabi last month. “Because once this phase goes right, then it can set me up for the next three to four years injury-free. That’s the goal right now.”
