Cricket News: How much is the SBI Life sponsorship worth to the BCCI? | BCCI lands sponsorship deal with insurance company
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has landed another big sponsorship deal. SBI Life, one of India’s largest insurance companies, has come on board as one of BCCI’s official partners for domestic and international cricket for the 2023-2026 window.
The deal is worth a reported INR 47 crore (approx. US$5.6 million) across 56 games in this three-year window. SBI Life agreed to pay INR 85 lakh per game, which is above the initial base price of INR 75 lakhs.
The partnership began in the first ODI between India and Australia at Mohali on September 22. The hosts won that match by five wickets, thanks mainly to Mohammed Shami’s 5/51 and a 142-run opening stand between Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Delighted to welcome SBI Life on Board – Jay Shah
“We are delighted to welcome SBI Life on board as an Official Partner for BCCI’s Domestic and International Season for the next three years, leading up to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023,” said BCCI Secretary Jay Shah.
“SBI Life’s commitment to excellence aligns perfectly with BCCI’s vision for cricket. This collaboration reflects our commitment to promoting and supporting the sport of cricket at all levels. We look forward to a fruitful partnership that will enhance the cricketing experience for fans and players alike,” said Shah.
