Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have taken a big step towards qualification to the IPL 2023 playoffs thanks to another wonderful partnership between Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis. The pair smashed 172 in 17.5 overs to make light work of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s 186/5, who only got there thanks to more Heinrich Klaasen brilliance.
RCB had to win this game to move into the top four, and Kohli in particular was outstanding. The pressure of a run chase when playoffs qualification is on the line is a scenario where RCB have faltered over the years, but there was no such drama here as Kohli struck his first IPL hundred since 2019.
