CWC 2019 Match 16: Bangladesh v Sri Lanka Preview Dream11. BAN vs SL Dream11 Prediction
Rain has its second victim in CWC 2019. With the weather forecast not looking particularly promising in Bristol, a third non-result is possible.
This is to the detriment of Bangladesh. Apart from being in far better form than Sri Lanka, Bangladesh have lost two of their first three matches in CWC 2019, and need a win to keep their Semi Final hopes alive. They ruined their chances of challenging England before a ball was bowled, despite the magnificent effort of Shakib Al Hasan, who worryingly has a quad injury concern. Will the weather be kind enough to allow for a result? If so, will Bangladesh be good enough on the day to get a win?
Sri Lanka have already had a game washed out. Their one point against Pakistan was considered a lucky point in some parts, and can now gain more points here. However, like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka would consider this to be one of their more winnable games. A win here for Sri Lanka lifts them up to five points, which is incredible thinking they were one of the contenders for bottom place ahead of the tournament. Can Dimuth Karunaratne’s men put on a big display?

Key to a Bangladesh win
Bangladesh’s bowlers went the distance against England. Their deflated spirits after an unsuccessful and expensive opening 10 overs, after sending England in, spread out right throughout the innings as they conceded a huge 386. The Sri Lankans have struggled with the bat so far this tournament, so the onus is on the Bangladesh to bowl and field with greater control, building pressure on a team trying to find its feet.
However, Bangladesh have had a decent tournament with the bat so far. Shakib Al Hasan has been central to this, playing with skill, guile and class en route to a tournament-leading 260 runs in three matches. But, Bangladesh have been bowled out twice, which is a request for the likes of Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah to convert their starts. Tamim, in particular, has been underwhelming – can he play the knock his experience and ability warrants? Will Shakib be fit enough to help Bangladesh in a crucial game?
Key to a Sri Lanka win
The loss of Nuwan Pradeep is a blow for Sri Lanka. His ability to get the ball bouncing and seaming could have been a disconcerting proposition for Bangladesh to cope with. Instead, the pace trio of Lasith Malinga, Isuru Udana and Suranga Lakmal will be tasked with picking up early wickets, which they will think is very much possible as Bangladesh can offer chances early. Can Sri Lanka get the better of the Tigers top order – particularly Shakib Al Hasan?

Also, despite a victory on the board, Sri Lanka’s batting has been poor. Their win against Afghanistan papered over a huge crack that was their collapse of 9/57, which will be fatal against more established opposition. Can Kusal Perera provide another fast start? What platform can Dimuth Karunaratne and Lahiru Thirimanne help set? Then, can an out-of-form middle order capitalise?
Pitch and conditions
Showers are forecast in Bristol for just about all of Tuesday. In regards to the pitch, Bristol is usually a great place to bat.

Match Prediction
The result of this match could rely on two key factors: the weather and fitness of Shakib Al Hasan.
If the weather allows for a full game and Shakib is fit, back Bangladesh to win.
