Now, Lanning’s Capitals will take on fellow Australian Alyssa Healy’s UP Warriorz, who also got off to a winning start but in contrasting fashion.

Grace Harris showed why she is one of the great finishers in women’s cricket against Gujarat. The Warriorz needed 53 off 18 balls, and Harris, along with Sophie Ecclestone, pulled it off in incredible fashion. • Meg Lanning started WPL 2023 with a 43-ball 72. She also recently hit a vital 49* in the World Cup semi-final against India, so she comes into this game in great form.
• Shafali Verma also comes into this clash in form. The star youngster belted 84 off 45 balls against RCB.
• Verma has struck scores of 34 and 21 at a strike rate of 166.67 in two T20 matches on this ground.
• Marizanne Kapp struggled with the bat in the group stage of the World Cup, but is now coming into her groove. The South African all-rounder has scored 39* (17), 11 (11) and 27* (13) in her past three matches.
• Jemimah Rodrigues struck 43 (24) in the WC semi-final against Australia, followed by 22* (15) in DC’s WPL opener. She will be key in the middle overs especially.
