ENG vs SA 3rd T20 Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report | ENG vs SA 3rd T20 Dream11 Prediction Today | Southampton Pitch Report

England’s challenging month of white-ball cricket ends with a decider, and they are set to be challenged once again. South Africa showed why they are a team to watch on the world stage with a superb bounce back in the second T20I, led by Rilee Rossouw who transferred his brilliant T20 league form to Proteas colours.

So, what does the encounter have in store? If trends are to be followed, the team batting first will thrash a 200+ score and defend it quite comfortably. But, with the power that both teams possess, trends can easily be hit for six. A series win for either side against strong opposition can serve as great confidence heading into this year’s World Cup, and it is an opportunity both teams want to grasp with both hands.

For England, it is their 12th white-ball match in the space of 24 days. All the learnings might take some time to unpack in the coming days and weeks, but a victory in this match will come as sweet relief. For South Africa, a series win in England will certainly have many take more notice of this team, particularly given how good they were in last year’s World Cup. This should be interesting.

ENG vs SA 3rd T20 Possible Playing 11

England look set to back Jason Roy, but he is in need of a big knock. The home side may stick with the same team.

England: 1. Jason Roy, 2. Jos Buttler (c & wk), 3. Dawid Malan, 4. Jonny Bairstow, 5. Moeen Ali, 6. Liam Livingstone, 7. Sam Curran, 8. Chris Jordan, 9. Adil Rashid, 10. Richard Gleeson, 11. Reece Topley

Competition for places is heating up in the South Africa team. The Proteas might look to bring back one of Rassie van der Dussen or Aiden Markram for this clash. Also, Dwaine Pretorius could replace Andile Phehlukwayo despite the latter’s excellent fightback in the second T20I.

South Africa: 1. Quinton de Kock (wk), 2. Reeza Hendricks, 3. Rilee Rossouw, 4. Heinrich Klaasen/Rassie van der Dussen/Aiden Markram, 5. Tristan Stubbs, 6. David Miller (c), 7. Dwaine Pretorius/Andile Phehlukwayo, 8. Kagiso Rabada, 9. Keshav Maharaj, 10. Lungi Ngidi, 11. Tabraiz Shamsi

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

England:

  • Twice in this series has Jos Buttler looked good then got out. He has slammed 51 runs in just 21 balls. Even a slightly longer stay can be quite damaging to South Africa.
  • Buttler has the most runs in ENG-SA T20Is: 17 inns, 467 runs, avg. 33.35, SR 160.48. Also, the captain has a brilliant T20 record at Southampton: 8 inns, 297 runs, avg. 59.40, SR 152.31.
  • Jonny Bairstow is the leading run-scorer in this series with 120 at a strike rate of 162.16. He also has good numbers in T20s at The Rose Bowl: 5 inns, 183 runs, avg. 45.75, SR 130.71, 3 50s.
  • Dawid Malan will be looking to bounce back after getting dismissed in soft fashion in the second match. He is capable given his excellent record against SA: 8 inns, 343 runs, avg. 49.00, SR 158.79.
  • Also, Malan loves the third match of a T20I series. In ten such matches, Malan has scored 473 runs at an average of 52.55 and strike rate of 157.66. This includes a 99* vs SA.
  • Moeen Ali has slammed scores of 52 and 28 at a strike rate of 228.57 in this series. Also, England could look to use him in the powerplay again as he has dismissed Quinton de Kock five times for 61 runs in 44 balls in T20s.
  • Chris Jordan conceded just four runs in a brilliant final over at Cardiff. The seamer has the most wickets for England against South Africa in T20Is (16, SR 22.3) and has experience on this ground: 15 inns, 12 wickets, avg. 33.33, SR 26.00.
  • Reece Topley didn’t have his best outing in the second T20I, but he returns to a ground he enjoys bowling at. The left-armer has taken 10 wickets in six innings at The Rose Bowl at a strike rate of 12.20.
  • Adil Rashid in T20s on this ground: 6 inns, 8 wickets, avg. 16.00, econ. 6.30, SR 15.25.

South Africa:

  • What a knock it was by Rilee Rossouw at Cardiff. His 96* off 55 balls now takes him to 975 runs in T20s this year at an average of 48.75 and incredible strike rate of 185.01.
  • Interestingly however, The Rose Bowl is not one of Rossouw’s favoured grounds. He has struck just 251 runs in 16 innings here at an average of 16.73 and strike rate of 139.44.
  • Reeza Hendricks has made a case for his spot in the Proteas team. The opener has looked fluent in this series for his two fifties at a strike rate of 169.23.
  • Quinton de Kock has struck 141 runs in four T20s on this ground at an average of 70.50 and strike rate of 165.88. One feels the big innings is not too far away for de Kock – will today be the day?
  • Lungi Ngidi continues to take wickets against England. The seamer has taken an incredible 19 wickets in eight matches at a strike rate of 9.1. He has seven in this series alone.
  • The Tabraiz Shamsi of 2021 showed up at Cardiff (3/27). He dismissed Jason Roy, Moeen Ali and Sam Curran all within 11 overs. Can he produce the goods again?
  • Kagiso Rabada vs England: 8 matches, 10 wickets, avg. 27.70, SR 18.3.

Batting first has been the way to go in this series. Given this is a day game, expect the captain who wins the toss to bat first. A score of 180+ will be a tough chase.
