Funny Cricket Tweets April 2019 v. 1. 15 of the funniest cricket tweets from April 2019 so far.

It’s that time again… Funny tweets!

Twitter during IPL is so full of meme content. You would still get plenty of entertainment if you decided to spend your night refreshing your live feed instead of watching the cricket. However, the cricket has been exciting, with a number of thrilling finishes creating talking points.

Below are 15 great tweets from the last few weeks. Kudos to all who put them together!

1. Master and the apprentice…

https://twitter.com/agiftby_santa/status/1116727386987319301

Ashish Nehra did his best for India and had some fine moments. Who could forget his 6/23 vs England in the 2003 World Cup? However, @agiftby_santa had me in stitches with this one. Dale Steyn, one of the finest ever, to be overruled by Nehra in the nets? Funny stuff.

2. So that’s all he needed to do…

Manish Pandey played his most significant innings in a while with an excellent 83* (49) against CSK. He has continued to underwhelm outside of the India A side, so the solution was simple. Quality tweet from @CSKian716!

3. Anyone but them…

Funny Cricket Tweets April 2019 v. 1. 15 of the funniest cricket tweets from April 2019 so far.

IPL 2019 has seen CSK lose to MI yet again. If memes could be used as cricketing analysis, this would it from @AvengerReturns. The same can apply to the RR vs MI rivalry – there are just some teams you hate to play!

4. “We have figured out how to stop Russell”

https://twitter.com/cricfreakz/status/1114921377830772742

KKR thrashed RR earlier this month. RR reached 139 despite losing just three wickets in their batting innings. KKR reached it with eight wickets and 37 balls remaining, with danger man Andre Russell not needed to bat. What an exhibition by RR in stopping Russell! Funny stuff from @cricfreakz.

5. Keep pushing…

https://twitter.com/KSharifff/status/1119957959172210691

That game where KKR won with Andre Russell not even needed was an exception. He has been their main man this season, delivering them wins from the brink of defeat. “Just for fun” says @KSharifff. Spot on he is, especially when Russell was wasted at number seven recently vs SRH…

6. Record-maker…

https://twitter.com/RoshanKrRai/status/1115277525033279491

Laugh out loud from @RoshanKrRai. R Ashwin’s quest for this record has had the likes of David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan quaking in their boots when the KXIP skipper is about to bowl. Batsmen need to work together to avoid this record!

7. And here’s Warner!

The fear! This is indeed one of the funnier moments in IPL 2019, with Warner keeping an eye on Ashwin at all times while nearly horizontal to the ground. Quality comparison and insight from @Myself_ankush. Sign him up, Star Sports…

8. R Ashwin really is the master tactician…

Before Pandey fired vs CSK, he was subject to memes and funny tweets. One of them was from @SriniMaama16, painting R Ashwin as the master tactician, not opting to go with the review against Pandey in KXIP’s match against SRH in case it was out. IN you stay, Pandey!

9. Be careful…

Vijay Shankar is a class batsman. Anyone who doesn’t think so should be avoided, especially when it comes to sex. You don’t want to be getting intimate with someone who doesn’t share what you believe in. Too good, @SteynGun_!

10. The world’s greatest academy…

Funny Cricket Tweets April 2019 v. 1. 15 of the funniest cricket tweets from April 2019 so far.

Meme content is certainly not complete without reference to the world’s best and famous academy. The Dinda Academy has gone viral in IPL 2019, with the help of some poor death bowling in the tournament. Thanks to @Dhawanswarrior for giving us an insight into the important conference meeting with Ashok Dinda.

11. MS Dho… oh wait

“They say MS Dhoni is a legend for his ability to win games on the final ball?” said Umesh Yadav. “Watch me take it to the last ball and win it. It is wrong that I am not in India’s World Cup squad.” @sagarcasm with a beauty.

12. Cheeky!

Those who were triggered by this, please have a look in the mirror. I burst into laughter today when I saw this from @monicas004, tweeting some quality banter as CSK needed one run to win off two balls vs SRH, after needing two off one ball vs RCB. 10/10.

13. The reason for Dhawan’s return to form

https://twitter.com/fakarnot/status/1114876224235380737

Shikhar Dhawan was having an awful IPL 2019 tournament. 109 runs in his first five innings, including a duck vs RCB, was always going to be cause for meme content. Since this funny tweet from @fakarnot, Dhawan has scored 249 runs in his next five innings at 62.25. Dhawan has this tweet to thank!

14. Best balanced…

Is this the tweet that resurrected RCB’s season? They have won three of four matches since this from @prayag_sonar! RCB had lost six straight, dropped nearly as many catches as they took, batted poorly and couldn’t stop the flow of boundaries. Equally bad in all departments = balance + consistency.

15. Arguably my favourite of them all…

I watched this countless times. Thank you to @llapskywalker for sharing this gem with us all. I don’t mean to bash RCB, but these memes are hilarious. Mr. Bean and RCB? You’ve won my heart. After all, I have picked RCB to beat KXIP to keep their season alive. Just.

So, there are my favourite 15 tweets from the month of April so far.
