HUR vs HEA Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: BBL 2022/23 Match 55 | HH vs BH Dream11 Prediction Today | Launceston Pitch Report
At the time of writing, Hobart Hurricanes’ season literally hangs by a thread. In what has been another disappointing season, the men in purple need Adelaide Strikers to lose in Melbourne (or Renegades to lose by a decent margin) as well as Sydney Thunder to falter against the Stars. If both those results go their way, and they beat Heat today, they will sneak into the top five.
Whether they deserve a playoffs spot is a point of discussion. Fans have waited for this Hurricanes side, filled with talent on paper, to fire. However, they have only shown glimpses all campaign, with just five wins in 13 matches heading into this clash.
One of their eight defeats came last week in a thriller against Brisbane Heat. Inspired by Usman Khawaja’s captaincy and Spencer Johnson’s excellent last over bowling, Heat have won four straight games to roar into the playoffs. The motivation to win this clash is to avoid Friday’s Eliminator and go straight to the Knockout match over the weekend. Plenty to play for.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats
Hobart Hurricanes:
- Matthew Wade smashed 51 off 29 balls at Launceston earlier in BBL 12. The Hurricanes need their skipper, who averages 25.17 in seven matches vs Heat since 2018, to deliver today.
- Tim David is the only Hurricanes player to have scored at least 300 runs in this campaign. He has struck 350 in total at an average of 43.75 and strike rate of 163.55, including a 27-ball 44* vs Heat.
- Patrick Dooley, who has taken 19 wickets in ten games this season, took 4/16 on this ground earlier in BBL 12.
- Riley Meredith was outstanding in the powerplay a few nights ago vs Heat. He was too good for Josh Brown.
- Meredith has taken five wickets in three matches at Launceston (econ. 6.92, SR 14.40) and 12 wickets in seven matches against Heat (avg. 17.17, econ. 7.63).
- Nathan Ellis has six wickets in as many games against Brisbane Heat. But, he is often expensive against them, with a total economy of 9.48.
Brisbane Heat:
- Sam Hain has hit 33* and 73* in his past two knocks. He was player of the match against Melbourne Stars thanks to his 41-ball effort.
- Usman Khawaja has made four double-figure scores in his past five matches. But, he has crossed 25 just once. If he gets in today, he will be aiming to go big.
- Michael Neser had a tough outing vs Stars (0/54). However, before that, he was player of the match against Hurricanes (3/27), including dismissing Ben McDermott first ball.
- James Bazley has not been dismissed in four innings against Hurricanes. He has hit 137 runs at a strike rate of 165.06. Also, he dismissed Matt Wade a few nights ago, so his all-round skills could be key.
- Spencer Johnson is now vital for the Heat at the death. He has delivered crucial 20th overs in recent games. Such a role brings about wicket-taking opportunities.

- D’Arcy Short has been a shadow of his former self this season. But, Hurricanes may elevate him up the order given he has a good record vs Heat: 11 inns, 440 runs, avg. 55.00, SR 135.38.
- Matt Renshaw hit 41 against the Hurricanes a few nights ago. He strikes at 145.45 in four matches against them since January 2019.

University of Tasmania Stadium Launceston Pitch Report and Weather
It was a good batting pitch at Launceston in the only match at the ground so far in BBL 12. Hurricanes (172/8) beat Scorchers (164/8) thanks to Dooley’s 4/16 and Meredith’s 2/36.
Given this is a day game and clear conditions are forecast with a top of 25 degrees, the spinners may have a say.
