England has not won an ODI series against India in India in the last 37 years and a tough challenge awaits Morgan’s men. They will be without their ODI regulars in Joe Root and Chris Woakes who are rested for the series. As per reports, he will most likely early stages of the IPL.
However, this also brings an opportunity for Liam Livingstone who could win his first England Cap since 2017 and make his ODI debut. His Lancashire teammate Matt Parkinson might get a look in as well. He has been with the team throughout their winter schedule.
Indian selectors have also rewarded players for their domestic performance in Vijay Hazare Trophy, India’s prolific 50 overs competition. Also, there was a lot of debate about India’s Opening pair until Kohli came into the Press Conference and clarified Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan will open in the ODI series against England.
