IND vs WI 2nd ODI Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report | IND vs WI 2nd ODI Dream11 Prediction Today | Barbados Pitch Report

The first ODI between West Indies and India told us much of what we already knew. West Indies’ batting couldn’t stand the test against India’s attack, even with a number of first-team players unavailable for various reasons.

And, while there was a fightback with the ball from the hosts, 114 was never going to be enough.

However, the key question for India ahead of a World Cup is what did they learn? Will they be able to use this series to allow their batsmen to gain form, as well as to form partnerships and combinations? For that to happen, the visitors may need to bat first if they win the toss given the likelihood of chasing another small total.

IND vs WI 2nd ODI Possible Playing XIs

West Indies may look to bring in Keacy Carty in place of Rovman Powell. Also, it remains to be seen whether they bring in Alzarri Joseph, who was rested in the first match.

West Indies: 1. Brandon King, 2. Kyle Mayers, 3. Alick Athanaze, 4. Shai Hope (c & wk), 5. Rovman Powell/Keacy Carty, 6. Shimron Hetmyer, 7. Romario Shepherd, 8. Dominic Drakes, 9. Yannic Cariah, 10. Gudakesh Motie, 11. Jayden Seales/Alzarri Joseph/Oshane Thomas

Will India bring Sanju Samson into the XI? His exclusion was a big talking point from the opening ODI.

India: 1. Rohit Sharma (c), 2. Shubman Gill, 3. Virat Kohli, 4. Suryakumar Yadav, 5. Hardik Pandya, 6. Sanju Samson/Ishan Kishan (wk), 7. Ravindra Jadeja, 8. Shardul Thakur, 9. Kuldeep Yadav, 10. Umran Malik, 11. Mukesh Kumar

IND vs WI 2nd ODI Dream11 Prediction – Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

West Indies:

  • Shai Hope has a good record against India. However, he needs support. The captain has struck 920 runs in 23 innings at an average of 46.00.
  • Alick Athanaze is a ray of promise in difficult times for the Windies. He was dismissed soon after finding his feet in the first ODI (22 off 18 balls), where West Indies had a decent start of 45/1 off 7.4 overs.
  • Shimron Hetmyer has a key role to play against India’s left-arm spinners. Jadeja dismissed him in the first match, but Hetmyer has a good record in ODIs against the orthodox spinner: 114 balls, 136 runs, three dismissals.
  • Alzarri Joseph has dismissed Virat Kohli thrice in 68 balls in ODIs (78 runs). He has also dismissed Rohit Sharma thrice, in 61 balls (51 runs).

India:

  • Virat Kohli did not bat in the first ODI. However, we can surely expect time at the crease for Virat this time. He has the most runs in WI-IND ODIs (2,261) at an average of 66.50 and strike rate of 96.95. This includes 11 fifties and nine hundreds.
  • Rohit Sharma has struck 1,613 runs at an average of 57.60 and strike rate of 91.85 in ODIs against West Indies.
  • How Shubman Gill copes with good-length deliveries in the channel will be key. If he gets going, he can build on his excellent ODI record to date: 25 inns, 1,318 runs, avg. 62.76, SR 106.29.
  • Kuldeep Yadav (4/6) was player of the match in the opening ODI. He was far too good for the Windies’ batsmen. Overall, the left-arm chinaman bowler has taken 30 wickets in just 16 innings against West Indies at an average of 21.83.
  • Ravindra Jadeja (44 wickets) is one wicket away from becoming the outright all-time highest wicket-taker in WI-IND ODIs. He averages 28.68 and strikes every 35.06 balls.

Other Stats and Facts

  • India have won the past nine ODIs against West Indies.
  • West Indies have lost their last five bilateral ODI series against all opponents.
  • Shai Hope is 80 away from notching up 1,000 runs in ODIs against India.
  • Kuldeep Yadav has taken 19 wickets in nine ODIs this year. He is averaging 17.
  • Ravindra Jadeja is six scalps away from 200 wickets in ODIs.

Kensington Oval Barbados Pitch Report and Weather

The Barbados pitch had carry and movement for the seamers. Also, spinners found very decent turn. Expect similar pitch conditions in this match, where even a score of 220-230 batting first can be tough to chase.

However, rain may have a say. According to the forecast, there is a 50% chance of precipitation.
