DC vs RCB Preview Dream11. Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore Preview Dream11 Prediction
With games always coming thick and fast in IPL 2019, it has felt like an age since these two sides played.
Delhi Capitals last played nearly a week ago. They recovered from a Rahane-Smith onslaught with their own from Rishabh Pant, winning a crucial match to entrench them in the top four. However, that match was in Jaipur, part of their excellent away record. They now return to the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium where they have won just two of their five games so far. DC have likely sewn up their playoffs place already, but they could end the day in the top two. Can they hold their nerve against a side that has found its stride?
That side is Royal Challengers Bangalore. They have won three straight games and four of their last five to resurrect their season. They have put to bed talks of going through the season without a win, keeping alive their hopes of a miraculous playoffs appearance. However, as this is just a mathematical possibility given their poor net run rate, RCB well and truly can’t afford any more slip ups. It has been their last chance in their last three games, and they have responded with victories. Can they do it again?
Key to a DC win
When DC beat RCB at the Chinnaswamy earlier in IPL 2019, it was off the back of their bowlers. Kagiso Rabada took four wickets, supported beautifully by Chris Morris. However, conditions in Delhi often require a tweak in strategy given the nature of the pitch, which puts onus on the DC spinners to overcome RCB’s in-form batting lineup. With dew a chance to play a part as evening sets in, DC’s spinners have to be on song as they will have a key role to play whether they bowl first or second. Can the likes of Ishant Sharma and leading wicket taker Kagiso Rabada set up a great platform in the powerplay overs, including the big wicket of hometown hero Virat Kohli?
Also, can DC’s batsmen continue their good form? It was a duck vs RCB that ended up inspiring a turnaround in form for Shikhar Dhawan. Prithvi Shaw has made plenty of starts, and needs to convert while supporting the others. Shreyas Iyer made RCB pay dearly for an early drop in their previous meeting this season. And, with Rishabh Pant in dangerous form, plus a good record vs RCB, DC can hope for a strong batting display up top that sets them up for a strong finish with the likes of Sherfane Rutherford and Colin Ingram in the ranks too. With no Dale Steyn and still a lack of confidence at the death overs for RCB, DC have an opportunity to pounce.

Key to an RCB win
It has to be another huge effort by RCB. They are hanging on by a thread, but they won’t mind if they pick up another tight win here. The big question is whether their batting can hold up against DC’s attack on a slow track. There have been times this season where RCB have struggled against spin, so the ideal situation would be to bat second with dew possibly setting in. However, as you can’t rely on the toss, the onus is on AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli, who has a superb record in Delhi, to lead from the front. In-form Moeen Ali has now departed for England duty, so will it be Shimron Hetmyer to finally show what he is capable of in conjunction with Parthiv Patel and Marcus Stoinis?
Also, it would have been pleasing for RCB to see Umesh Yadav and Navdeep Saini bowl well vs KXIP. Taking five wickets between them, the challenge for these two would be to follow up that performance with another strong effort in Delhi. But, eyes will be mostly focused on RCB’s spinners, who have it in them to cause DC trouble on the Feroz Shah Kotla pitch. With no Moeen Ali, Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar will be crucial to their chances, along with P Negi who could get a look in given the conditions. Can RCB get the better of DC’s top order and make inroads into the middle order?
Possible Playing 11
Chris Morris and Amit Mishra have been expensive in their last few outings. The conditions makes Sandeep Lamichhane a good choice to target RCB, and Rahul Tewatia could get a look in.

Match Prediction
What a difficult prediction this is to make!
RCB have a superb record in Delhi, but DC are having a fine season. However, DC’s home form still doesn’t inspire too much confidence, which is why I will back RCB to get another win.
