The most awaited Grand Finale of the most superior cricket league is here with a bang as two of the season’s best teams are all set to go. After conquering Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 1, Kolkata Knight Riders were waiting for an opponent in the final and they will have Orange Army once again up for the battle.
Chennai would be hosting the ultimate game for the third time. Both sides have a strong batting lineup that can rattle the bowlers, but the second Qualifier showed that this tired pitch might have something for them as well.
The stage is set; there isn’t any drought of talent, it’s a matter of three hours of excellence, bravery, and a little bit of good fortune. It is going to be enrapturing to see if KKR is – ‘Taiyaar’ – ready for the 3rd title or if Pat Cummins will add one more in the cabinet.

- Abhishek Sharma: Scoring 482 runs this season; Abhishek is yet to play a 30+ balls inning and that tells us about his intent and impact on the game. Like Q2, he can also be handy with the ball on the Chennai pitch.
- Heinrich Klassen: One more ace from the SRH powerhouse, Heinrich Klassen has been pretty much consistent and adds a lot of value in case of the early collapse or the slog overs.
- Klassen vs Starc: 22 runs off 9 balls with 0 dismissals.
- Klassen vs KKR: 165 runs, 94 balls, 55 Avg, 175.5 SR.
Top All-rounder Picks:
- Sunil Narine: He has been an out-of-syllabus question for most of the bowling lineups with his devastating batting. His fierce starts in the powerplay and tactical bowling are one of the main reasons for his team’s success.
- Narine at Cheapauk: 10 innings, 14 wickets, 5.97 economy.
- Andre Russell: Like every season, Andre Rusell has one more time proved to be a valuable player. With the bat, if not then with the ball, and if not that with the field too; he will eventually be there for the KKR giving his best for the side doing the needful.
- He averages 43 with the bat at Cheapauk. Also, he has very great matchups against all the SRH bowlers with him striking all of them for a minimum SR of 160.
Top Bowler Picks:
- Varun Chakravarthy: With 20 scalps, he is the top wicket-taker amongst the spinners in this edition. If he gets right with his variations, will be a threat to the opposition batters or can help in restricting them to a below par score.
- T Natarajan: With 19 wickets in 13 innings, Natarajan is the top wickets taker for his side. He is doing a great job restricting batters to hit in his 4-over quota.
- Pat Cummins: The amount of impact that Pat Cummins has put on SRH is immeasurable. But along with the captaincy, his bowling has been excellent too. He has scalped 17 wickets throughout the season.
- Harshit Rana: The aggression king Harshit has been doing excellent this season with 17 wickets to his name. Bowling on good lines & lengths has led him to his wicket-taking ability.
Other players to consider for your fantasy cricket team…
- Captain Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer have played the excellent roles of the backbone of the KKR batting lineup, holding the crease consistently in the middle overs. Averaging 38 & 40 respectively they have made 345 & 318 runs in this season.
- Shreyas Iyer vs SRH: 479 runs, 392 balls, 36.8 Avg.
- Rahul Tripathi: Rahul has been in great form lately scoring 55 and 37 in the last two games. He was unlucky to get a runout in Q1 against the same opposition. Against KKR, he has got 383 runs in 12 innings striking at 160.
- Mitchell Starc: Starc has performed worth his price tag in Q1 which directly led his side to the final in comfort. In this edition, he has taken 15 wickets in 12 innings. His main task would be to restrict the fierce top order of SRH.
- Starc has an outstanding record against Travis Head.
MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai Pitch Report and Weather
If the sources are to be believed, “the final will be played on a Mumbai-type red-soil wicket”- which means a lot of runs. In the last game here, the pitch got progressively slower, and hence the SRH tweakers did the job.
Dew did not play any huge role on Friday. 37-38 degrees Celsius is the temperature forecasted. Humidity will be severe.
IPL 2024 Final: KKR vs SRH Dream11 Prediction Today Match
Top Captaincy and VC picks for SRH vs KKR:
- Travis Head: ‘The Finals Man’ – Travis Head has been the talisman for Pat Cummins’s side in nearly all the finals that he has led. Once again, if the fortunes are with Patrick, it has to be Head scoring huge out there.
- Sunil Narine: With his all-round skills taken into consideration, you can try him as Vice Captain of your team. There is always a high chance that such all-rounders will provide you points with either bat or ball.
- T Natarajan: We have seen the trend in the playoffs about the left-arm pacers taking wickets. So, if we follow the trend, Natarajan would be a good and differential choice for making C or VC in your fantasy team.
- Andre Rusell: Considering his performance at this venue, Andre Rusell is another good option for Captaincy or Vice-Captaincy in the fantasy team.
