Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will lock horns with the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 26th match of IPL 2025. Both sides have been in good form, and will be eyeing a win in this game to strengthen their position in the points table. 

LSG are fifth in the table with three wins from five games. They’ve won their last two matches and they’ll move to the third spot if they win this game. Nicholas Pooran has been exceptional, along with Mitchell Marsh. But Lucknow’s issue is that no other batter has performed consistently, although Aiden Markram has performed well in the last two wins.

With the ball, LSG have held their own for the most part. Shardul Thakur has picked wickets consistently. Akash Deep and Avesh Khan will have to step up as well. Digvesh Rathi has been brilliant but Ravi Bishnoi’s form is a headache for LSG. Can he deliver here?

Meanwhile, GT are at the top of the points table with four wins in five games. They’ve won four matches on the trot after losing their season opener against PBKS. Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler have been the best batters for GT and they need some consistency from Shubman Gill. Sherfane Rutherford has been an important player with the bat and Shahrukh Khan’s form in the last game will be a big boost for them.

Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna and R Sai Kishore have been exceptional with the ball for the Titans. Rashid Khan picked up two wickets in the last game but he has been far from his best. If he gets going, it will another point for threat for GT.

The pitch at Ekana has been a good one for batting and it has something for the bowlers as well. There will be little-to-no movement with the new ball as it’s a day game. The spinners are expected to get good assistance and the big dimensions will also suit them. 

LSG has won both the games played here this season while defending, so batting first won’t be a bad option either. Scores in the range of 180-200 are expected in this game. 

It will be a partly cloudy day in Lucknow with no chance of rain. The temperature will be around 34-35 degrees Celsius at the start of the game.

• Jos Buttler has 202 runs in five games this season at an average of 50.50 and strike rate of 162.90 with a couple of fifties. He will be a key batter for his side at number three.

• Mitchell Marsh is another in-form batter for LSG with 265 runs in five matches. He is averaging 53 and has a strike rate of 180.27 with four fifties. Marsh will look to attack from ball one and can take the game away from Gujarat in the powerplay itself. His battle with Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna will be key.
