LSG vs RCB Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: IPL 2022 Eliminator | LKN vs BLR Dream11 Prediction Today | Lucknow Super Giants vs Royal Challengers Bangalore Key Players | Kolkata Pitch Report
What other piece of drama does IPL 2022 have in store for us? Royal Challengers Bangalore are here thanks to their excellent win over now-finalists Gujarat Titans, as well as Mumbai’s huge favour against Delhi Capitals over the weekend. Then, yesterday, Gujarat once again showed their might in a riveting, gripping Qualifier against Rajasthan Royals.
Now, it’s on the other newbies Lucknow Super Giants to match Gujarat’s brilliance. LSG have often relied on their top three (de Kock, Rahul and Hooda have scored 64.68% of their runs), so RCB have an incentive to make inroads courtesy of their strong bowling attack. On the other side of the coin, RCB’s top order has been inconsistent, and LSG’s excellent bowling attack is capable of taking advantage. It is a battle that we can all look forward to.
Can Virat Kohli build on his excellent half-century in the last match? Or will it be Quinton de Kock who steals the show once again after his unbeaten 70-ball 140 last week? Which set of finishers can deliver the finishing blow, if needed? And, most importantly, which set of pacers can hold their nerve better in the pressure cooker?
RCB is the only team to qualify for the playoffs in each of the past three seasons. However, they have never reached the final in this period. They have it in them to do it, but they need to bury any past demons and play with freedom. You need to against a good side like LSG.
Possible Playing 11
Krunal Pandya should be fit for this match after missing the last game due to a niggle.
Lucknow Super Giants: 1. Quinton de Kock (wk), 2. KL Rahul (c), 3. Deepak Hooda, 4. Krunal Pandya, 5. Ayush Badoni/Evin Lewis, 6. Marcus Stoinis, 7. Jason Holder, 8. Avesh Khan, 9. Dushmantha Chameera/Krishnappa Gowtham, 10. Mohsin Khan, 11. Ravi Bishnoi
Harshal Patel split a webbing on his right hand, but he said he should be fit for the match. He is one crucial player to watch in the IPL 2022 playoffs.
Royal Challengers Bangalore: 1. Faf du Plessis (c), 2. Virat Kohli, 3. Rajat Patidar, 4. Glenn Maxwell, 5. Mahipal Lomror, 6. Dinesh Karthik (wk), 7. Shahbaz Ahmed, 8. Wanindu Hasaranga, 9. Harshal Patel, 10. Josh Hazlewood, 11. Mohammed Siraj/Akash Deep/Siddarth Kaul
LSG vs RCB Key Players to Watch/Key Stats
Lucknow Super Giants:
- KL Rahul loves playing against RCB. The LSG captain has scored 531 runs at 75.86, with scores of 30, 39, 91*, 61*, 132* and 42 in his past six knocks against them. Also, he has struck 125 off 70 balls against the trio of Harshal Patel, Josh Hazlewood and Mohammed Siraj.
- Quinton de Kock was out of this world in his last knock vs KKR. He smashed a 70-ball 140*. Also, de Kock has a good record vs RCB: 10 inns, 365 runs, avg. 36.50, SR 142.58.
- Deepak Hooda is LSG’s third-highest run-scorer this season (406, avg. 31.2).
- Marcus Stoinis has cracked 28* (14), 2 (run out) and 27 (17) in his past three knocks. His 156 runs against RCB come at an average of 39.00 and strike rate of 160.82. One to watch.
- Avesh Khan is the only bowler in IPL history to take 5+ wickets in all phases of an innings in two separate seasons. Since the start of 2021, he has taken the joint-most wickets in the powerplay (13) at an economy rate of just 7.05.
- Jason Holder bowled well against RCB earlier this season (2/25). Given RCB have struggled against spin and hit-the-deck bowling at times this season, expect Holder to bowl cutters into the Kolkata surface.
- Mohsin Khan has taken 13 wickets in eight matches this season, with five scalps in both the powerplay and death overs.
Royal Challengers Bangalore:
- Faf du Plessis smashed 96 off 64 balls vs LSG in the league stage. The RCB captain comes into this game on the back of a 38-ball 44 vs GT.
- Speaking of the match vs GT, Virat Kohli was in excellent touch (73 off 54 balls). Can he carry that form here? He has excellent numbers at Eden Gardens: 13 inns, 446 runs, avg. 44.60, SR 130.03.
- Glenn Maxwell seems to be peaking at the right time. He has smashed scores of 40*, 35 and 33 in recent matches, and has five wickets in his last four matches. Also, he has a good record vs KL Rahul (two wickets in 23 balls, 23 runs), so expect the off-spinner to bowl in the powerplay.
- Dinesh Karthik has smashed 206 runs at a strike rate of 226.37 in the death overs this season, and has been dismissed just twice in this phase. Also, he returns to a ground he has plenty of experience at: 27 inns, 708 runs, avg. 39.33, SR 141.88.
- Josh Hazlewood took 4/25 vs LSG earlier in IPL 2022. He dismissed de Kock, Badoni and Stoinis along the way. In fact, he has dismissed de Kock thrice in 29 deliveries for 38 runs in T20s.
- Wanindu Hasaranga has been outstanding this season, particularly in the middle overs (17 wickets in this phase). If RCB can take early wickets, Hasaranga is the perfect man to target a shaky LSG middle order.
Other Stats and Facts
- LSG have not beaten any of the other teams in the IPL 2022 playoffs. They lost twice to GT and RR, and once to RCB.
- LSG took 96 wickets in the league stage at an average of 23.8 and strike rate of 17.1. This is the best of any team.
- KL Rahul much prefers to bat first in IPL 2022 (425 runs at an average of 85 and strike rate of 149) compared to second (112 runs at an average of 18.7 and strike rate of 101). LSG have lost four of the six games they have been asked to chase.
- Watch out for Josh Hazlewood, Glenn Maxwell and co. as LSG have lost 23 wickets in the powerplay this season.
- RCB is the only team to have qualified for the playoffs in each of their past three seasons.
