MI vs DC Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: IPL 2022 Match 69 | MI vs DC Dream11 Prediction Today | Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals Key Players | Wankhede Pitch Report
So, it all comes down to this. The 69th match of IPL 2022 will officially decide the playoff spots, and the equation is nice and simple for the Delhi Capitals: win and qualify.
In addition to being able to compete with the competition’s elite at the business end of the season, there is an added personal motivation for the Capitals. This season has been one full of disruptions due to COVID-19 and injuries, so qualification to the playoffs will be of great pride for all associated with the 2020 finalists.
And they should qualify. Mumbai Indians only have pride to play for, as they have fixed to the bottom of the table for a huge chunk of the season. However, MI are a dangerous proposition with Tim David in such blistering form, and any attack with Jasprit Bumrah in it needs proper focus. Remember, MI have beaten the top two teams in Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals, so Rishabh Pant’s team need to ensure they don’t think too far ahead.
The two sides met way back in the second match of IPL 2022. MI’s poor death bowling was immediately evident, as Axar Patel (38* off 17) and Lalit Yadav (48* off 38) took DC home in a chase of 179 after sitting in a very difficult position. All Royal Challengers Bangalore fans will certainly be hoping that MI can turn that around and achieve a win here.
Possible Playing 11
MI could look to bring back Murugan Ashwin for Mayank Markande.
Mumbai Indians: 1. Rohit Sharma (c), 2. Ishan Kishan (wk), 3. Tilak Varma, 4. Tristan Stubbs, 5. Tim David, 6. Daniel Sams, 7. Ramandeep Singh, 8. Sanjay Yadav, 9. Jasprit Bumrah, 10. Riley Meredith, 11. Murugan Ashwin/Mayank Markande
Prithvi Shaw is unlikely to be available after recently being discharged from hospital where he was down with typhoid. However, Sarfaraz Khan did an excellent job last game.
Delhi Capitals: 1. David Warner, 2. Sarfaraz Khan, 3. Mitchell Marsh, 4. Rishabh Pant (c & wk), 5. Rovman Powell, 6. Lalit Yadav, 7. Axar Patel, 8. Shardul Thakur, 9. Kuldeep Yadav, 10. Anrich Nortje, 11. Khaleel Ahmed
Key Players to Watch/Key Stats
Mumbai Indians:
- Rohit Sharma has had a difficult season, but Rohit at the Wankhede is a different proposition. He has struck scores of 39 (31), 18 (14) and 48 (36) on this ground in IPL 2022. Can he cross 50 today?
- Rohit has struck 725 runs in 24 matches vs DC at an average of 32.95 and strike rate of 130.40.
- Ishan Kishan has struck some form in the past five matches (26, 45, 51, 6 and 43). He has a great record vs DC: 386 runs in 12 games at an average of 48.25 and a strike rate of 147.33, including a 48-ball 81* earlier this season.
- Tim David is the player that can take the game away from DC. He has smashed 139 runs in his last five games at an average of 64.50 and strike rate of 217.19, including scores of 16* (7) and 46 (18) at the Wankhede.
- Tilak Varma is MI’s leading run-scorer this season (376), averaging 37.60 and striking at 131.46. He has been outstanding against spin this season, with 190 runs at a strike rate 147.28 and just one dismissal.
- Jasprit Bumrah is capable of hurting DC’s hopes. MI could look to save him for Rishabh Pant, as the pacer has dismissed the keeper-batsman six times in 42 balls in the IPL (47 runs).
- Bumrah has taken 20 wickets in 18 matches vs DC at an average of 25.70 and economy rate of 7.63. He is also the third-highest wicket taker in T20s at the Wankhede (41 scalps in 38 matches).
Delhi Capitals:
- David Warner had a rare failure last game vs PBKS, but he will be raring to go today against a franchise he has a brilliant record against: 19 inns, 661 runs, avg. 44.07, SR 138.87. He has scored 36, 85* and 60 in his last three games vs MI.
- Warner has never been dismissed by Bumrah in the IPL (54 runs off 45 deliveries).
- Mitch Marsh was outstanding yet again last game, especially given that DC had lost a chunk of wickets in the middle. He has struck scores of 37, 10, 25, 89 and 63 in his past five games, and also has four wickets to his name.
- Can Rishabh Pant overcome his poor record vs Bumrah? If he can, he can lead DC to victory. The DC captain has struck 333 runs in 13 matches vs MI at an average of 27.75 and strike rate of 142.92.
- Khaleel Ahmed had a tough return last game (0/48), but he remains crucial to DC’s hopes. He has taken 16 wickets in nine matches this season, including 12 in 20 overs after the powerplay. Also, he has six wickets in three matches vs MI.
- Anrich Nortje is striking form. The pacer has taken seven wickets in his last four matches. Also, he has taken four wickets in four overs at the death this season, at an economy rate of just 8.50.
- Kuldeep Yadav (20 wickets this season) was outstanding against MI earlier this season (3/18). He has taken 11 wickets in nine matches at the Wankhede with a strike rate of 16.91.

- David Warner has struck scores of 66 (38), 28 (14), 42 (26) and 3 (4) at the Wankhede this season.
- Axar Patel will be key with bat and ball. He struck an unbeaten 18-ball 38 vs MI earlier this season, and took an excellent 2/14 last game vs SRH.
- MI could look at playing Jaydev Unadkat. The left-armer has taken 19 wickets in nine matches against DC.
Wankhede Stadium Pitch Report and Weather
The chasing team has won five of the past eight matches on this ground. The average first innings score in these matches is 164.88, which includes three scores of 189 or more. So, the captain who wins the toss may be tempted to chase, but DC could look to bat first and put a score on the board.
