New Zealand keeper-batsman Tim Seifert joins KKR | Kolkata Knight Riders have signed Tim Seifert as a replacement for the injured Ali Khan
Knight Riders Kolkata have added Tim Seifert New Zealand keeper-batsman to their team as Ali Khan has dropped out of IPL 2020 due to a side strain injury. The first USA national to play was roped in for Harry Gurney.
Seifert is likely to miss Plunket Shield as he will be representing KKR for this year’s IPL. It will be interesting to see how this additional role pans out as the team already has a set keeper-batsman – Dinesh Karthik. Khan and Seifert were part of Trinbago Knight Riders which is owned by KKR CEO Venky Mysore.
Ali Khan bagged 8 wickets in the tournament and Seifert scored 133 in nine innings. Recently Lockie Ferguson joined the team and showed excellent character. Skipper Eoin Morgan was super impressed with the Kiwi’s first show of the season. “For Lockie to come in for the first game of this tournament and perform in both the 20 overs game and the Super Over like he did, I think, was outstanding. The hunger and drive that he has shown off the field, waiting for an opportunity, really spurred the guys on,” said Morgan.
