The Super Four stage of the 2025 Asia Cup has been confirmed, with India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to feature.
India and Pakistan looked certainties to qualify from Group A also featuring the inexperienced Oman and UAE. Pakistan had to work hard for their victory against UAE, recovering from a troublesome position to eventually win by 41 runs and seal their passage to the Super Four.
Group B, unsurprisingly, was much more unpredictable. Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan were competing for two spots as Hong Kong also showed excellent fight in their campaign. Sri Lanka (three wins) and Bangladesh (two wins) prevailed over Afghanistan, who couldn’t build on their first-up win over Hong Kong. Rashid Khan’s team had their chances, but Sri Lanka and Bangladesh held their nerve better in key moments.
