The schedule for Australia’s home season for 2025/26 has been confirmed, with South Africa, India and England to visit. International cricket will return to Darwin for the first time since 2008, ahead of a huge men’s Ashes series which kicks off on November 21.

The 2025/26 season will make history. It will be the first time that all eight Australian states and territories will host an international in a single season.

The season will begin in August with three T20Is and as many ODIs against South Africa. The first two T20Is will be played in Darwin, with Marrara Stadium hosting its first international since the three ODIs Australia played against Bangladesh in 2008.

Cazalys Stadium in Cairns and Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay are the other venues. Both stadiums hosted matches against New Zealand and Zimbabwe in 2022.

August is still the Australian winter, but the climate up north is warm all year round.

Cricket Australia’s chief executive Todd Greenberg is excited for the season ahead. “We smashed many records for attendance, viewing audiences and digital engagement last summer and we’re confident that this incredible momentum will continue throughout what promises to be an engrossing season,” he said, as quoted by cricket.com.au.

“We are extremely grateful for the cooperation and support of all our government, venue, broadcast and commercial partners who ensure Australia’s national sport continues to deliver brilliant experiences in stadiums and drive participation across the country.”
