Australia will be close to full-strength across the three formats, with the tour to begin with three T20Is. Adam Zampa will sit out the whole tour as his first child is due to be born around that time. Pat Cummins will sit out the T20Is, but Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc, David Warner, Steve Smith, Matthew Wade and Glenn Maxwell are all available for both white-ball formats.

In addition to three T20Is and five ODIs, Australia will play two Tests. It is their second assignment in Asia this year after a successful Test series in Pakistan, where Pat Cummins aced his first major test as Test captain. Marcus Harris, despite his good form in First Class cricket, has missed selection, while Australia have picked three spin options in Mitchell Swepson, Nathan Lyon and Ashton Agar.
