Bangladesh have named their squads for the Test, ODI and T20I tour of West Indies that begins next month. Mustafizur Rahman returns to the Test fold after a year, while batsman Anamul Haque has earned a place in Bangladesh’s white-ball squads after ammassing 1,138 runs in the recent Dhaka Premier League.

Mushfiqur Rahim, who recently became the first Bangladeshi to cross 5,000 Test runs, will miss the tour as he will be undertaking Hajj duties. However, star all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been picked after he was ruled out of the Sri Lanka Test series due to a hand injury.

Bangladesh’s first tour of West Indies since 2018

This will be Bangladesh’s first tour of the West Indies since 2018. They suffered humiliation in the Test series, including a 43-all out in Antigua. After they failed to cross a total of 168 runs in an innings in the two Tests, but they bounced back with 2-1 series wins in the ODIs and T20Is.

Bangladesh will leave for the Caribbean on June 5 for two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is. The Tests will count to the World Test Championship, but the ODIs will not count to the ODI Super League. The three T20Is will serve as preparation for the T20 World Cup later this year, where Australia will aim to defend their crown down under.
