Cricket News: ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Qualifier Zimbabwe: Schedule & Where To Watch | T20 World Cup Qualifier 2022 schedule & details

The International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers B will take place at Zimbabwe from 11^th July-17^th July. Eight teams including the hosts will participate in the competition and two will make their way to Australia for the World T20 later this year.

The other seven teams include Jersey, Papua New Guinea (PNG), USA, Uganda, Singapore, Hong Kong and Netherlands. Netherlands and PNG come into this competition on the basis of their finishing position in the Round 1 of the T20 World Cup that was held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2021.

Similarly, Singapore and Zimbabwe walk into this competition due to their rankings in the ICC Men’s T20 Team Rankings. USA, Uganda, Jersey and Hong Kong have warded off competition from their regional competitors and will now be aiming to finish in the top-two in the forthcoming Qualifier B. There will be 20 matches including the playoffs and the finals in the tournament.

The winner of the upcoming tournament will be slotted into Group B including West Indies, Scotland and Ireland. The runners-up will be squaring off against UAE, Sri Lanka and Namibia in Group A. All the matches will be played at either the Queens Sports Club and Bulawayo Athletic Club.

“We are very excited for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier B to begin. This is the final step in the qualification pathway for the remaining two World Cup spots and we are looking forward to competitive and hard-fought cricket, with a chance for all teams to compete for the ultimate prize in T20 cricket up for grabs,” ICC Head of Events Chris Tetley was quoted in a report by the council.

Tetley added, “Fans will be able to cheer on all teams and follow the action by tuning in to ICC.tv or FanCode to find out who will secure their spots in the World Cup. We are delighted to be working with Zimbabwe Cricket again and wish all the participating teams the very best of luck in their quest to reach the Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.”

All the matches will be streamed live on FanCode in India and will be available worldwide via ICC.TV.
