Ollie Robinson’s outstanding season continued, striking early in the third Test against Pakistan to bring up his 100th Test wicket. He reached the figure at a remarkable average of 19.34, becoming the first England bowler since Sir Ian Botham to take 100 Test wickets at an average under 20.
Pakistan have had no answers to Robinson in the ongoing series. He has made full use of the conditions on offer, threatening both edges on a regular basis thanks to seam movement on a consistent line and length.

Robinson trapped Saim Ayub LBW for a duck with a delivery that nipped back in from around the wicket to bring up the milestone 100th.
“A masterclass in wobble seam bowling,” said Nasser Hussain on commentary soon after as Abdullah Shafique left a delivery that went just over the top of the stumps. Robinson then had Shafique caught at slips for his 101st wicket, exposing the Pakistan batter’s tendency to drive across the line of the delivery.
Robinson managed to execute the perfect length and nip the ball away slightly to catch the edge.
Pakistan’s struggles continued, falling to 26/4 at the time of writing courtesy of some very soft dismissals in Edgbaston.
