Cricket News: Perth weather forecast for Australia vs Sri Lanka match | Weather forecast in Perth for AUS vs SL match

After a couple of days of rain, the weather in Perth looks much more promising for the crucial Group 1 match between Australia and Sri Lanka on Tuesday. The hosts will be aiming to bounce back after an embarrassing 89-run defeat at the Sydney Cricket Ground, albeit to an outstanding New Zealand team. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, are striving for two from two after thrashing Ireland in Hobart on Sunday.

Perth weather forecast for Australia vs Sri Lanka T20 World Cup match

According to bom.gov.au, a mostly sunny day is forecast for Perth, with a top of 22 degrees and mild evening expected. There is only a 20% chance of rain, and if any does fall, it should be minimal.

AccuWeather.com presents a similar forecast, with 0% precipitation throughout the course of the match. Also, breezy conditions are expected in the afternoon and evening, which may limit the amount of dew on the playing surface in the second innings.

Perth weather forecast for AUS vs SL World Cup match

Optus Stadium in Perth has been home to some high-scoring matches, including Australia vs England earlier this month. However, the bowlers were on top in the England vs Afghanistan game, so the onus will be on the seamers to find some early movement in cool conditions.

Australia in particular will be looking to hit the ground running, after conceding 200 against New Zealand at the SCG on Saturday. The extra pace and bounce in the Perth track makes Australia favourites, but Sri Lanka have some sharp pace of their own. Indeed, with a net run rate of -4.450, the host nation not only need to win this match desperately, but by a good margin, too.
