Sri Lanka salvaged the second Test in Colombo with Sonal Dinusha producing another gritty batting display against India. With neither team having a realistic chance of a result left, both teams shook hands as the match ended in a draw. Sri Lanka finished with 429/9 in their second innings after India had asked them to enforce follow on.

Dinusha was not out on 133 at the close of the innings, having scored 103 in the first innings. His twin hundreds in the Colombo Test followed his 100 and 84 in the first Test, giving him three centuries in four innings in the series.

The left-hander batted for a long time at the crease, shutting down the Indian attack when Sri Lanka was in trouble. His patience and ability to bat out periods of adversity were crucial as the hosts avoided defeat after finding themselves in a difficult position.
