SRH vs RCB Twitter Reactions – Bengaluru finally end winning drought | RCB beat SRH to break six-game losing drought in IPL 2024

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) hammered a record 287 just 10 days ago at the M Chinnaswamy, soon before smashing 125 in the powerplay alone in Delhi. So, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) had to bat first if they won the toss to give themselves the best chance of breaking their six-game drought.

That they did. Headlined by the talented Rajat Patidar’s 20-ball 50 and Cameron Green’s 20-ball 37*, RCB hit 206/7 to hand the test over to SRH. Despite a very fast start from Abhishek Sharma, Faf du Plessis’ team prevailed after picking up four wickets in the powerplay and six inside 10 overs to pretty much end SRH’s challenge in this contest.

Captain du Plessis labelled it as a “massive relief” as the team has “shown great signs of fight” in the last two games.

“The SRH game was 270-plus and we got to 260, then the KKR game as well, just one run. It was almost a record chase,” du Plessis said.

“We’ve been close for a while but you need to win matches to get confidence back in the group. It’s a massive relief. No matter where we are, when you’re not winning it does affect you, it does affect you mentally, it does affect your confidence. I will sleep a bit easier tonight.”

SRH vs RCB Twitter Reactions – Excellent Rajat Patidar leads Royal Challengers Bengaluru to win

The victory keeps their very slim playoff hopes alive, while SRH missed the opportunity to consolidate their top four spot. The memes and analyses were aplenty as RCB finally picked up a win.

Virat Kohli criticised for his 43-ball 51, Rajat Patidar praised for his match-changing knock

The debate around Virat Kohli’s T20 batting went up a notch. The opener started very well in the powerplay, hitting 23 off his first 11 balls. However, he then scored just 28 off his next 32 balls in a period that saw RCB slow down significantly after Rajat Patidar’s fine 20-ball 50 came to an end.

In the final analysis, RCB’s comfortable win is the most important thing. However, fans were quick to criticise the innings, particularly during the RCB innings.

Next up for SRH is a trip to Chennai to play CSK on Sunday. RCB play on the same day in Ahmedabad against the Gujarat Titans.
