The Board of Control for Cricket in India has roped in Subhadeep Ghosh as the new fielding coach of the men’s team. He replaces T Dilip who was not retained after the recently-concluded tour of Zimbabwe.
Ghosh will join the senior team ahead of India’s two match Test series against Sri Lanka later this month. He steps in after changes in the support staff with the departures of T Dilip and assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate. Gautam Gambhir will remain the head coach with batting coach Sitanshu Kotak and bowling coach Morne Morkel continuing in their roles.
Subhadeep Ghosh: Coaching Stints at Galore
Subhadeep Ghosh played first class cricket for Assam and Railways. The 57-year-old played 17 first-class matches between 1994 and 2004 before turning to coaching.
Since then, Ghosh has held several important positions in Indian cricket. He has been the head coach of the Assam senior men’s team and was part of the National Cricket Academy set-up. He has also been part of India A and the Indian women’s team, gaining exposure at different levels of the game.

Ghosh has also worked with the Indian Premier League. He has worked with Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders which adds franchise cricket experience in his coaching career.
The Assam Cricket Association congratulated Ghosh on his appointment to the post and called it a proud moment for cricket in the state, in a statement they said, “Over the years, he has built an impressive coaching profile by working with various Indian teams across different age groups, earning recognition for his dedication and expertise.”
