The most hilarious reasons why Jason Roy was suspended by the ECB | Fans make up the funniest reasons why Jason Roy was punished by the ECB

Fans and pundits were left perplexed and confused at the news that Jason Roy has been suspended for two matches and fined £2,500 for apparently bringing the game of cricket, ECB and himself into disrepute.

“A Disciplinary Panel of the Cricket Discipline Commission has announced its sanction on Jason Roy after he admitted a charge of conducting himself in a manner which may be prejudicial to the interests of cricket or which may bring the game of cricket, the ECB and himself into disrepute,” read an ECB statement.

“Following a full disciplinary hearing at which all available evidence was heard, the Disciplinary Panel ruled that Mr Roy should:

“(i) be suspended from the next two England matches for which he is eligible for selection, but that such suspension be suspended for 12 months dependent on good behaviour; and

“(ii) pay a fine of £2,500 by 31 March 2022.”

The ECB did not specify what Jason Roy did.

Fans take matters into their own hands to determine what Jason Roy did to get suspended

Of course, when there is very little clarity on a particular matter, fans will take it upon themselves to determine the offence.

And how hilarious it is.

Perhaps Jason Roy sat his teammates down and forced them to watch a replay of the recent Rawalpindi Test where a record-low 14 wickets fell across five days? Such an action warrants more than two matches and a bigger fine, though.

Or he could have been the lead curator who dished out the pitches in the first two Tests of the Windies-England series? Perhaps the Barbados track that Kraigg Brathwaite batted for 673 deliveries on; the second-most in a single Test in the 21st century and most ever by a West Indian?

Or what about Wordle?

Fair enough if he’s made a bad brew.

If it’s not the cricket, it’s Mrs Brown’s Boys Christmas Special.

Or jam first?

Some more wild guesses…
