Sanju Samson had just 22 runs in his first three innings for the Chennai Super Kings. His average at Chepauk was just 11 after six innings. But he turned things around really well during CSK’s fourth game of IPL 2026 against the Delhi Capitals.
The opener scored an exceptional century – 115* off 56 balls – when the odds were against him. Fans were being impatient, especially after the hype Samson had when he was traded in from the Rajasthan Royals.
He started off well and played his shots in the powerplay despite Ruturaj Gaikwad’s very safe approach at the other end. Sanju kept playing his shots, got a life when he was on 52, and then eventually completed his century off 52 deliveries.
This was a much-needed knock for CSK’s ‘Chettan,’ and he delivered when the side required runs from him. Fans and the experts applauded Sanju’s efforts and expressed their thoughts on him regaining his form.
