Delhi Capitals opener KL Rahul scored 152* runs in just 67 deliveries against the Punjab Kings. Rahul reached his century in just 47 deliveries and finished with 16 fours and nine sixes in his remarkable innings.
With this knock, Rahul broke numerous records. He became the first Indian batter to score 150 runs in the IPL. Also, it the third-highest overall after Chris Gayle (175* runs) and Brendon McCullum (158* runs). It was his 6th hundred in the IPL and he became the first player to score multiple hundreds for three different franchises.
“Another hundred for KL Rahul in the IPL, sixth overall. Dare I say this might be the best of them,” said Simon Dhoull on commenrary.
Rahul had a brilliant 220-run partnership with Nitish Rana (91 runs) in just 95 deliveries. This was the second-highest partnership in IPL history after AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli (229 runs).
