USA vs PAK Reactions: Stunning win by the co-hosts in Dallas, Texas.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is not doing the best job in promoting cricket in the United States, but the USA team took it in their own hands to put the sport on the map.
Monank Patel’s team pulled off a stunning victory over Pakistan in a thrilling Super Over, with the co-hosts holding their nerve right throughout the contest. The more fancied Pakistan were all over the place in all three departments, on display in the Super Over especially as the USA compiled 18 mostly through extras.
In reply, Pakistan fell five runs short with Saurabh Netravalkar bowling an excellent over after he took 2/18 during the match.
With the ball, the USA limited Pakistan courtesy of an excellent powerplay. The likes of Shadab Khan (40 off 25) and Shaheen Shah Afridi (23* off 16) helped Pakistan get to 159/7, but they then lacked impact with the ball.
Monank Patel (50* off 38), Andries Gous (35 off 26) and Aaron Jones (36* off 26) provided the backbone of the chase, before Nitish Kumar hit a final-ball four to send the game into a Super Over after Jones hit a six two balls earlier.

American sports fans reacted to the cricketing triumph. Some were surprised the USA even had a cricket team, while others asked for a description in NBA terms.
USA now sit top of Group A. They have a genuine chance of making the next round. In fact, one more victory against Ireland or India will all but seal their passage into the Super Eights stage.
