USA player Bodugum Akhilesh Reddy has been banned from all cricketing action for eight years after he was found guilty for breaching three counts of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code.
The charges are in connection with the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 2025 tournament in the United Arab Emirates. For this event, the ICC was appointed by ECB as the Designated Anti Corruption Official (DACO). What this ruling means is that the ICC has filed these charges on behalf of ECB.
USA’s Akhilesh Reddy Charged Under “Match-Fixing” Breaches
In November, Reddy was provisionally suspended and charged under the following sections of the anti-corruption code:
- Article 2.1.1 – Attempting to fix, contrive, or improperly influence, or being party to an agreement or effort to improperly influence, the result, progress, conduct, or any other aspect of matches in the ADT10 2025.
- Article 2.1.4 – Soliciting, inducing, enticing, instructing, persuading, encouraging, or intentionally facilitating (or attempting to do so) another Participant to breach Article 2.1.1 during one or more matches in the ADT10 2025.
- Article 2.4.7 – Obstructing the investigation by deleting data and messages from a mobile device that may have been relevant to the inquiry.
The ICC has been appointed by the Emirates Cricket Board as the Designated Anti-Corruption Official (DACO) for the tournament. Its Anti-Corruption Tribunal found Bodugum Akhilesh Reddy guilty of all three charges. The eight-year ban will take effect from November 21, 2025, the date he was first suspended.
The 26 years old made his international debut for the USA in April 2024. He has played four T20s at the international level.
