AUS vs OMN Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – T20 World Cup 2026 40th Match

When looking at the schedule, most would have assumed this game would be Australia’s final match before they travel to India for the Super Eights. Instead, it’s their last game of the tournament full stop.

Australia have deservedly been eliminated following a poor campaign where the coach and selectors have clearly misread Sri Lankan conditions. Also, their thin bowling attack has come back to bite. Now, it’s only a matter of pride before the trip back home where further introspection is required.

On paper, Mitch Marsh’s team should be too good for Oman, but cricket is a funny game. Captain Jatinder Singh pulled no punches in the build up to this match, claiming “Australia is not doing well at the moment, it is the best time to crush them.”

Oman have been beaten resoundingly in all three of their matches, so victory here would be one of the great shocks even considering Australia’s struggles. They have a net run rate of -4.546 and need a big lift if they are to compete here.

T20 World Cup 2026 40th Match: AUS vs OMN Possible Playing XIs

According to ESPNcricinfo, Matt Renshaw, who was harshly dropped against Sri Lanka, is likely to be picked in the XI. Steve Smith is unlikely to play and it could be a choice between Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green for the final spot.

Pallekele International Cricket Stadium Pitch Report and Weather

Batting conditions have been excellent so far at Pallekele. Sri Lanka smashed 225/5 against Oman before they chased 184 against Australia with ease. Also, Mitch Marsh and Travis Head raced to 104/0 off 8.2 overs against the co-hosts. Expect another good batting pitch here.

There is a chance of thunderstorms during the game. The team who wins the toss will likely bowl first.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for AUS vs OMN: Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top wicketkeeper picks:

  • Josh Inglis bats in the top four and can gain fantasy points from wicketkeeping as well. Inglis has made a few starts in this World Cup, scoring 72 runs at a strike rate of 167.44.

Key batter picks:

  • Mitchell Marsh is a strong Dream11 C/VC option against a struggling Oman attack. Marsh smashed 54 at a strike rate of 200 against Sri Lanka on this ground.
  • Travis Head is also an excellent Dream11 C/VC option. He will go hard from the start and throw caution to the wind. If it comes off, Head can make a significant score at a fast rate.

Top allrounder picks:

  • Marcus Stoinis (67* off 36 and 3/19) won player of the match against Oman in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Also, Stoinis has taken three of Australia’s last four wickets in this tournament.
  • Aamir Kaleem is fresh off a strong all-round performance against Ireland (1/29 and 50). He opens the batting and will provide a few overs.

Key bowler picks:

  • Adam Zampa has gone wicketless in his last two games, but a struggling Oman batting lineup represents a good opportunity to get back in the wickets.
  • Nathan Ellis will test Oman with his variations. He bowls the crunch overs and can be backed to take wickets in this match.

Other Players to Consider for your Fantasy Cricket Teams

  • Sufyan Mehmood is conceding 11.88 per over but he offers good value from a fantasy perspective among Oman players as he can also contribute with the bat.
  • Glenn Maxwell has not got going, but he comes up against an attack that he leaked runs in this World Cup. Also, this could potentially be Maxwell’s last international match.
  • Oman have lost seven wickets in the powerplay in this tournament. Xavier Bartlett can add to that with his ability to swing the ball.
  • Shakeel Ahmed took three wickets in Oman’s last match against Ireland.

AFG vs CAN Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – T20 World Cup 2026 39th Match

Afghanistan will meet Canada in the 39th match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Both sides are already out of the Super 8 race, and are playing for pride. MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, will host this game on 39th February 2026 at 7 PM IST.

Afghanistan’s campaign this tournament has been disappointing. They lost to New Zealand by five wickets in their first game and then suffered a heartbreaking double Super Over loss to South Africa.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz has been in strong form, while Ibrahim Zadran scored a fifty in the last game. Azmatullah Omarzai and Darwish Rasooli have also shown glimpses of form, but they’ve lacked consistency.

Bowling-wise too, the likes of Noor Ahmad, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Mohammed Nabi have had a disappointing tournament. Azmatullah Omarzai (8 wickets), Rashid Khan, and Mujeeb ur Rahman (4 wickets each) have been the standouts.

Canada lost to New Zealand by eight wickets in their last game. Yuvraj Samra scored an excellent century (110 runs) which is a great sign in their quest for a win here. Dilpreet Bajwa, Navneet Dhaliwal, and Nicholas Kirton are the other key batters for Canada.

Dilon Heyliger and Saad Bin Zafar are the key bowlers. They’ll have to be at their best as a side if they are to defeat Afghanistan.

MA Chidambaram Stadium Chepauk Chennai Pitch Report and Weather

The pitch at Chepauk has been an excellent one for batting in the tournament so far. The average first innings score in the tournament so far is 184 runs. The hard wicket offers good bounce, and the batters can play their shots trusting the wicket. There hasn’t been any help off the deck for the spinners until now.

Teams are expected to prefer chasing if they win the toss as dew will be a factor in the latter half of this game.

A bright sunny day with the temperature being around 25 degrees Celsius at the start of the game. It will be very humid with 75% humidity.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for AFG vs CAN: Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top Wicket-Keeper Picks:

  • Rahmanullah Gurbaz has been in good form. He played an excellent innings against South Africa (84 runs) and has a total of 111 runs at an average of 37 and strike rate of 168.18. He will be a good C/VC option.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Saad Bin Zafar is the lead spinner for Canada, and he can contribute with the bat too. He has four wickets in three games at a strike rate of 15 and an economy of 8.10.
  • Gulbadin Naib is batting at three and bowling 2-3 overs in every game for Afghanistan. He has looked out of touch with the bat, but he can score big on his day. Naib scored a fifty in the last game.

Key bowler picks:

  • Rashid Khan has four wickets in three matches so far. He’s a champion player and a proven match-winner, but his form in the last 8-10 months has gone down. But don’t doubt him, and he’s a must-pick for this match. Rashid will be an excellent C/VC choice too.
  • Mujeeb ur Rahman has also picked up four wickets so far. He can bowl in any phase of the game, and he can cause problems for the Canadian batting unit. Try him as C/VC in some of your teams.

SL vs ZIM Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – T20 World Cup 2026 38th Match

Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe will meet in the 38th match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. It will be a party atmosphere as both sides have qualified for the Super 8 round. R. Premadasa Stadium will host this game on 19th February 2026 at 3 PM IST.

Sri Lanka has been in good form in the tournament so far. Their top-order batters, Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis, have played well, and the middle order has also stepped in when the team has needed them.

The Lions defeated Australia quite comfortably by eight wickets in their last game. Nissanka was outstanding, while the likes of Dunith Wellalage, Dushan Hemantha, and Kamindu Mendis have done well for Sri Lanka too. Maheesh Theekshana has picked up wickets consistently as well, and Sri Lanka will look to finish the group stage with a win.

Zimbabwe has two wins and one rain-abandoned game in three matches. They defeated Australia by 23 runs in their last second game, and a washed-out game against Ireland meant that they confirmed their place in the Super 8.

Their bowlers, Blessing Muzarabani (7 wickets) and Brad Evans (6 wickets), are the key players behind their success till now. Brian Bennett (112 runs) has led the batting, but he’ll need support from the others. The likes of Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl must take responsibility going ahead in the tournament.

R. Premadasa Stadium Colombo Pitch Report and Weather

A balanced pitch is expected to be used for this game with some aid for the spinners. The average first-innings score here is 171 runs. We’ve seen batters scoring big once they’ve got their eye in.

Teams are expected to prefer chasing if they win the toss, but all four games played at this venue till now in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 have been won by teams batting first.

We may get to see a rain-interrupted game, as there is a 40% chance of rain and scattered thunderstorms during the game.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for SL vs ZIM: Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top wicketkeeper Picks:

  • Kusal Mendis has been in terrific form in the tournament so far. He has three fifties in three games and has 168 runs to his name at an average of 84. He’s a key batter for the Lankans at number three and will be a top C/VC choice.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Sikandar Raza has been far from his best so far – 30 runs and one wicket in two games. But he struggled with cramp against Australia and is a proven match-winner. Raza will contribute with both bat and ball, which makes him a good C/VC pick.
  • Brian Bennett has been the most consistent batter for his side with 112 runs in two games. He played a crucial knock of 64* in the game against Australia. He can bowl a few overs of his off-spin if required. He has the most runs in ZIM-SL T20Is (260, avg. 37.14, SR 132.65).
  • Brad Evans has six wickets in two matches so far. He’s picking up wickets consistently and is a key player for his team. Evans will bowl the important overs, and he’s handy with the bat too. Another good C/VC choice.

IND vs NED Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – T20 World Cup 2026 36th Match

India and Netherlands will go head-to-head in the 36th match of the 2026 T20 World Cup. Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, will host this game on 18th February 2026 at 7 PM IST.

India defeated Pakistan quite easily in their last game. Ishan Kishan (77 runs) was outstanding. Suryakumar Yadav (29 runs) also played well. Then the Indian bowlers took charge and restricted Pakistan to 114 runs. Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Varun Chakaravarthy all picked up two wickets each.

The Indian team is in good form, but they still haven’t played at their full potential. Abhishek Sharma, who has made two ducks, needs to get into runs ahead of Super 8, while Hardik Pandya too needs to get going with the bat.

The Netherlands, meanwhile, lost their last game by a huge margin of 93 runs. Their only win in this tournament came against Namibia. Bas de Leede has been in terrific form for them, while Scott Edwards has also batted well. Their openers have failed to get going, while the middle order, apart from De Leede and Edwards, has struggled throughout the tournament.

The Dutch have a good bowling attack, but the batters will have to support them well if they are to defeat this Indian side.

ICC T20 World Cup 2026 36th Match: IND vs NED Probable Playing XIs

India: 1. Abhishek Sharma, 2. Ishan Kishan (wk), 3. Suryakumar Yadav (c), 4. Tilak Varma, 5. Rinku Singh, 6. Hardik Pandya, 7. Shivam Dube, 8. Axar Patel, 9. Jasprit Bumrah, 10. Arshdeep Singh, 11. Varun Chakaravarthy

Netherlands: 1. Max O’Dowd, 2. Michael Levitt, 3. Bas de Leede, 4. Colin Ackermann, 5. Scott Edwards (c & wk), 6. Zach Lion-Cachet, 7. Logan van Beek, 8. Aryan Dutt, 9. Roelof van der Merwe, 10. Kyle Klein, 11. Fred Klaasen

Narendra Modi Stadium Ahmedabad Pitch Report and Weather

The venue has been a good one for batting in this tournament, and the spinners have had some help too. The average first-innings score here in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is 191 runs, and teams batting first have won two of the three matches played here. Spinners are expected to be in the game while the new ball moves around, especially under the lights, so the fast bowlers will be in for something as well.

It will be a bright sunny day with no chance of rain, and the temperature will be around 25 degrees Celsius at the start of the game.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for IND vs NED: Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top wicketkeeper Picks:

  • Ishan Kishan scored a crucial 77 runs in their last game and helped India win the match. Kishan has 158 runs in three games at an average of 52.66 at a strike rate of 197.50 with two fifties. Ishan will be an excellent C/VC choice.

Key batter picks:

  • Tilak Varma is batting at three for India. He played a scratchy knock in the last game, but he’ll still be a top fantasy pick. He can play all around the ground, and he’s a good player of spin. Try him as C/VC in some of your teams.
  • Suryakumar Yadav has 128 runs in three innings. He averages 40 (strike rate 140.65). He’s another player you wouldn’t want to miss out on in your fantasy teams. He showcased his class in the match against the USA.
  • It is hard to believe that Abhishek Sharma is yet to score his first runs in the tournament after two matches. He got out for a duck in the last game against Pakistan. This might be the game where Abhishek gets going.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Hardik Pandya has 57 runs and four wickets in the tournament so far. He needs some consistency with the bat, but he’s in terrific form with the ball. Pandya will be an excellent captain choice.
  • Axar Patel has six wickets in three matches. He’s picking up wickets consistently and can bowl in any phase of the innings. He is a capable batter and can be promoted up the order the team requires.
  • Bas de Leede has been the best player for the Netherlands in the tournament. He has 125 runs at an average of 62.50 and has picked up five wickets to go with that. De Leede will be a must in your fantasy teams.

Key bowler picks:

  • Jasprit Bumrah was in excellent rhythm in the last game. He swung the new ball and was very sharp, especially in the powerplay. He can trouble the Dutch batters and will be a good C/VC option too.
  • Varun Chakaravarthy has six wickets in three games at a strike rate of 9. He will be a big threat to the Netherlands’ batters. Varun will fancy his chances in this game; try him as C/VC in some teams.
  • Kuldeep Yadav is another spinner who poses a big threat to the opposition in this game. Kuldeep played his first game of the tournament against Pakistan and picked up a wicket in the three overs he bowled.

Other Players to Consider for Your Fantasy Cricket Team

  • Logan van Beek
  • Max O’Dowd
  • Scott Edwards

Twitter Reactions: Australia eliminated from T20 World Cup after Ireland-Zimbabwe washout

Australia have officially been eliminated from the 2026 T20 World Cup in the group stage. A washout in the Ireland-Zimbabwe match means the Zimbabweans move to five points, putting the Australians out of the race for the Super Eights.

Australia’s match against Oman on Friday will be a dead rubber in what has been a tournament to forget. After a solid start against Ireland on February 11, Australia produced two insipid displays against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka to put themselves at the mercy of other results – or as it turned out, the weather.

Fans and former players have not held back in their criticism of the selectors and players. Ian Healy said “Australia had the wrong players” and Mark Waugh believes “the non-selection of Steve Smith in the squad originally is the most baffling non-selection I can remember for ages.”

The 2026 edition continues what has been a poor run of results in T20 World Cups. Australia underachieved in 2009, 2014 and 2016, while reaching the semi-final in 2007 and final in 2010.

2021 is the exception. However, they had the fortune of winning the toss in every game except one in a tournament dominated by chasing teams in dewy conditions under lights in the UAE. Since then, they disappointed again in 2022 (group stage) and 2024 (Super Eights).

Reactions: Rival fans rejoice as Australia are eliminated from the 2026 T20 World Cup

Rival fans are loving life as Australia have been bundled out from a group they were expected to qualify from. Zimbabwe fans are rejoicing. Here are some of the reactions to Australia’s elimination.

Zimbabwe’s qualification to the Super Eights is a fabulous achievement. They did not qualify for the 2024 edition, and now less than two years later, will have the opportunity to go head-to-head with India, West Indies and South Africa in the next round.

“I will take you back to the sub-regional qualifiers, and I stood up to my troops and said we are in this situation because of ourselves, and only we can clear this mess,” said captain Sikandar Raza after the Ireland match was washed out.

“As much as we have achieved, it is just a tick in the box and not the whole box. There will be a small celebration, but we will then focus on the next game.”

Cricket Australia considering playing first BBL match in India – report

Cricket Australia (CA) is considering playing the first match of the 2026/27 Big Bash League (BBL) in India. That is according to SEN Cricket’s Tom Morris, who broke the news on Tuesday evening.

CA have the ambition to host the BBL season opener at Chennai’s M. A. Chidambaram Stadium. The move is believed to be part of CA’s privatisation plans for the league.

CA wish to hold BBL 2026/27 season opener in Chennai, India

According to Morris, “the bold ambition is part of a wider strategy to intertwine the lucrative Indian market with the BBL ahead of a near-certain sale for at least two of its eight franchises.

“SEN Cricket understands two senior Cricket Australia staffers travelled to India recently to investigate the possibility of a regular season BBL game being played, ideally in Chennai.”

CA CEO Todd Greenberg believes privatisation is the way forward. He is on record multiple times saying it’s vital for Australia not to fall behind.

“Change doesn’t happen in cricket without a lot of push and shove because it’s a traditional conservation approach to the sport, which is what’s beautiful about it. But geez, if you sit back and watch the world unfold around you, particularly at this moment and time, I think you’re going to get run over,” Greenberg said in a recent interview with The Grade Cricketer Podcast.

“So I’ve got this sort of concept that you want things to happen to you, or do you want them to happen with you? And my fear for us is if we aren’t in this discussion and we’re not debating the merits of bringing private capital in, you get run over in a small country like Australia.”

7 Cricket report that for the BBL match to go ahead in India, there would need to be various levels of approval.

“For it to get over the line approval would need to be given from various stakeholders, including the BCCI,” read the post on X (formerly Twitter).

With privatisation, however, comes key questions for Australia. What will it mean for the Test summer, so loved and adored by Australian cricket fans? Also, how will potential team name changes be received in a league that has been around for 15 years?

Time will tell.

SCO vs NEP Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – T20 World Cup 2026 33rd Match

Scotland and Nepal will lock horns in the 33rd game of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The match will be played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on 17th February 2026, at 7 PM IST. Both sides are already out of the Super 8 contention.

Scotland has played well in parts this tournament, and it reflects in their performance so far. The batters have done a decent job, but they’re yet to bat at their full potential. Matthew Cross, Tom Bruce, Brandon McMullen, and Michael Jones have failed to score consistently. The bowlers, apart from the spinners, have been off colour.

The likes of Brad Currie, Brad Wheal, and Mark Watt will have to pull up their socks for this game. Scotland needs to regroup and play as a side as they’ll look to win this match and end their campaign on a winning note.

Meanwhile, Nepal too has lacked performance as a team and consistency. They started the tournament well, nearly winning the game against England, but since then, their performance has gone downwards.

Their batting fell away badly against Italy. Also, Sandeep Lamichhane has only one wicket in three games, while their highest wicket-taker has picked up only three wickets. Nepal will have to bowl well if they are to end their tournament with a win.

Both sides will look to play for pride in this match, and it promises to be a good one for the fans.

Wankhede Stadium Mumbai Pitch Report and Weather

Wankhede is generally a good batting venue, but this tournament has seen the pitch aid the spinners a little. The ball has gripped and turned here, which makes the contest even between bat and ball. The boundaries are on the shorter side, and the quick outfield further aids the batters. The average first-innings score here in this tournament has been 160 runs.

The weather will be clear with no chance of rain, and the temperature will be around 25 degrees Celsius at the start of the game.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for SCO vs NEP: Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top wicketkeeper Picks:

  • Tom Bruce has looked in good touch but has failed to score big. He has 60 runs in three games. Bruce bats aggressively and can score big on his day. He will be the best option from the wicketkeeping section.

Key batter picks:

  • George Munsey has 107 runs in three games at an average of 35.66, including a fifty. He looks to take on the bowlers and exploit the field restrictions. He has 86 runs in two T20Is against Nepal at a strike rate of 195.45, including one fifty.
  • Richie Berrington has 106 runs at a strike rate of 158.20 and average of 35.33 in this World Cup. He’s been in good touch, and you should pick him for your fantasy teams.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Dipendra Singh Airee has 119 runs and two wickets to his name in three matches. He’s been the best player for Nepal in the tournament and will be a popular C/VC choice for this game, as he’ll fetch points from both batting and bowling.
  • Brandon McMullen will bat at 3 for Scotland and can bowl a few overs too. McMullen has looked to attack the bowlers, and he’s a key player for Scotland. He has 55 runs and one wicket to his name. He’ll be an ideal C/VC option.
  • Michael Leask has six wickets and 22 runs to his name. He’s the wicket-taker for Scotland and can trouble the Nepal batters in this match. Leask’s economy is 7.66 at a strike rate of 12. He’s another top C/VC pick.

Key bowler picks:

  • Bradley Currie will bowl the key overs for Scotland. He has four wickets in three games. He can swing the new ball and has good variations for the death overs. A must-pick for this game.

Both sides have had their moments in the tournament, but they failed to capitalise on them. Scotland is looking better compared to Nepal in terms of batting depth and bowling quality, but Nepal is not to be taken lightly.

Australia fans criticise team after poor loss to Sri Lanka in T20 World Cup

Australia are on the brink of elimination from the group stage of the 2026 T20 World Cup following a heavy eight-wicket defeat to co-hosts Sri Lanka in Pallekele.

After their disappointing 23-run loss to Zimbabwe last Friday, Australia found themselves in a precarious situation. It has got a whole lot worse. Defeat to Sri Lanka now means Australia’s fate is no longer in their own hands, with Zimbabwe needing to lose their last two matches to Ireland and Sri Lanka to keep Mitch Marsh’s team in with a chance of qualifying to the Super Eight stage.

However, Australia are undeserving of qualification. They have been poor in the past two matches, struggling for penetration with the ball and losing clumps of wickets with the bat. In Pallekele, Marsh and Travis Head’s 104-run stand in 8.3 overs went to waste as the team only managed to reach 181 in 20 overs on a terrific batting pitch.

In reply, Marcus Stoinis struck early to dismiss Kusal Perera, but that’s where the joy ended. Pathum Nissanka (100* off 52 balls), along with Kusal Mendis (51 off 38 balls), took the toothless Australian attack apart and made a mockery of the 182-run target. By the end of the game, Australia had taken a total of four wickets in the last 38 overs, with three coming from all-rounder Stoinis.

This is an Australian cricket low point – Ian Healy

The selectors made a host of questionable calls both in the lead up to and during the tournament. They kept faith in a number of out-of-form players and remarkably dropped Matthew Renshaw who was by far Australia’s best player against Zimbabwe. Also, they refused to play Steve Smith despite officially naming him in the 15-man squad.

Australia’s tactics have been found wanting on the Sri Lankan pitches. Anchors and accumulators are often talked about as roles of the past in T20s, but these conditions require a steady hand or two. Without it, the team is susceptible to losing quick wickets, and it is no surprise that poor passages of play have proven costly.

Ian Healy was very criticial of the selections. In his article for SEN, the former wicketkeeper lamented Australia’s thin bowling attack and refusal to pick players on form.

“We had the wrong players in there. There is no answer to why Steve Smith was not playing,” he wrote.

“Get real Australia. The captain [Mitch Marsh] decided to retire post-Bumrah and finish Shield cricket in December to focus on this tournament and totally devote to it. He was excited about the squad that had been all over the world.

“We had two bowlers and our best batsmen dropped in our final match for one all-rounder, one bowler and the captain’s return – to lengthen our batting order. Cooper Connolly – really? How lengthened is that making our order? He hasn’t made double figures for six games.

“Stoinis, Maxwell and Connolly is not an Australian bowling attack; they’re part-timers who can be handy.”

Fans criticise team after Australia’s potentially fatal loss to Sri Lanka in the T20 World Cup

Australia fans took to social media to express their discontent. While Test cricket holds priority for many, Australia’s performance in this World Cup is simply unacceptable.

“What a shambles…..they did lose 3/3 v Pakistan so what do you expect from an out of form, wounded, disabled, understrength, overplayed, lesser team,” wrote commentator Jim Maxwell on X (formerly Twitter).

Here are some of the reactions.

For Australia to qualify from here, they need to beat Oman and hope Zimbabwe lose to Ireland and Sri Lanka. Then, it will come down to net run rate with Australia, Zimbabwe and Ireland all on four points.

IRE vs ZIM Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – T20 World Cup 2026 32nd Match

Zimbabwe and Ireland will meet in the 32nd match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. It should be an exciting game, as both sides have a shot at qualifying for the Super 8 round if they win this game. Pallekele International Cricket Stadium will host this game on 17th February 2026 at 3 PM IST.

Zimbabwe has two wins in two matches, including a fantastic 23-run win over Australia last Friday. Australia then went on to lose against Sri lanka on Monday, so victory today will seal their passage to the Super 8 stage.

Their bowlers, Blessing Muzarabani (7 wickets) and Brad Evans (6 wickets), are the key players behind their success. Brian Bennett (112 runs) has led the batting, but he’ll need support from the others going ahead in the tournament.

On the other hand, Ireland defeated Oman by 96 runs in their last game. Their chances of qualifying look slim with only one win in three games. However, if they manage to win this match by a big margin, they can still give themselves a chance of qualification.

The Irish bowlers have performed quite well. Lorcan Tucker (139 runs), has looked in good touch from a batting perspective. Ireland, just like Zimbabwe, need their batters to step up and take responsibility in this do-or-die game.

Zimbabwe: 1. Briant Bennett, 2. Tadiwanashe Marumani (wk), 3. Dion Myers, 4. Sikandar Raza (c), 5. Ryan Burl, 6. Tony Munyonga, 7. Tashinga Musekiwa, 8. Brad Evans, 9. Wellington Masakadza, 10. Richard Ngarava/Graeme Cremer, 11. Blessing Muzarabani

Ireland: 1. Paul Stirling (c), 2. Ross Adair, 3. Harry Tector, 4. Lorcan Tucker (wk) 5. Curtis Campher, 6. Gareth Delaney, 7. George Dockrell, 8. Mark Adair, 9. Barry McCarthy, 10. Josh Little, 11. Matthew Humphreys

Pallekele International Cricket Stadium Pitch Report and Weather

An excellent batting wicket awaits both teams for this match. The average first-innings score here is 171 runs. The ball comes onto the bat nicely, and the wicket gets better to bat on as the game progresses. There will be some purchase on offer for the spinners, and the pacers will have to be smart with their variations.

Teams are expected to prefer chasing if they win the toss. Scores in the range of 160-180 are expected from this game.

We may get to see a rain-interrupted game as there are a 40% chance of rain during the game.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for IRE vs ZIM: Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top wicketkeeper Picks:

  • Lorcan Tucker scored 94* runs in the last game. He has a total of 139 runs in three matches at an average of 69.50 and strike rate of 144.79. Tucket will be the key batter for Ireland, and you can try him as C/VC, especially if Ireland is chasing.

Key batter picks:

  • Ross Adair has looked in good touch so far but has failed to convert the starts into big scores. He will look to maximise the powerplay and will be a good fantasy pick.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Sikandar Raza has been far from his best in the two games so far, but he’s a quality player and a proven match-winner. Raza will contribute with both bat and ball, which makes him a good C/VC pick.
  • Brian Bennett has been the most consistent batter for his side with 112 runs in two games. He played a crucial knock of 64* in the last game against Australia. He can bowl a few overs of his off-spin if required. Bennett is a popular C/VC option for this match.
  • Brad Evans has six wickets in two matches so far. He’s picking up wickets consistently and is a key player for his team. Evans will bowl the important overs, and he’s handy with the bat too. Another good C/VC choice.
  • Ryan Burl batted at three in the last game. He scored 35 runs and picked up a wicket too. Burl has 13 wickets against Ireland at an economy of 7.45 and strike rate of 14.30, along with 308 runs at an average of 28.00 and strike rate of 125.20.
  • George Dockrell has 85 runs and four wickets in three matches. He’s a key player with the bat for Ireland, and we saw that in the last game, and he’s bowling well. Dockrell will be an ideal C/VC pick.

Key bowler picks:

  • Mark Adair will bowl in the powerplay and then towards the end of the innings. He’s a wicket-taker for his side, and he can hit the ball down the order. Try him as C/VC if Ireland bowls first.
  • Blessing Muzarabani has been in the form of his life in this tournament. He has seven wickets in two matches at an economy of 4.12 and a strike rate of 6.2. He’s getting the ball to move around and can hit the deck hard.

Other Players to Consider for Your Fantasy Cricket Team

  • Richard Ngarava (if plays)
  • Tadiwanashe Marumani
  • Harry Tector
  • Barry McCarthy
  • Matthew Humphreys

At the moment, Zimbabwe’s pace attack is in sublime form, and they are batting as a unit. Ireland too is in a similar position, but Zimbabwe is in better form as a team and will be the favourite to win.

Pakistan legends, fans call for Shaheen Shah Afridi, Babar Azam and Shadab Khan to be dropped

Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Yousaf are among those who are calling for Pakistan to select new players after the team’s disappointing 61-run loss to India in Colombo on Sunday.

The experienced trio of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Babar Azam and Shadab Khan are in the spotlight after difficult outings in a game touted as a big test of Pakistan’s mettle. Shaheen looked short of a gallop once again, conceding 31 runs in his two overs as Pakistan opted to bowl 18 overs of spin. Shadab Khan went for 17 off his only over, while Babar Azam’s lacklustre form continued with a seven-ball five.

India, courtesy of Ishan Kishan’s magnificent 77 off 40 balls, reached 175/7 on a slow pitch. In response, Pakistan were never in the chase, falling to 13/3 in two overs. They collapsed to 97/9, with only Shaheen’s late boundaries getting them to 114.

Pakistan legends, fans call for changes following heavy defeat to India in 2026 T20 World Cup

Pakistan’s experienced players haven’t been producing the goods consistently for some time. Shaheen and Babar, two of Pakistan’s star players from their 2021 T20 World Cup win over India, both look a shadow of the players they were then.

Shaheen has three wickets at an average of 33.66 and economy of 11.22 in this World Cup. Babar is also fighting for his best form, scoring 66 runs at a strike rate of 115.78 so far.

“Time’s up for Shaheen, Babar, and Shadab, Pakistan’s T20 squad needs new performers, not empty wins against weaker sides,” wrote Mohammad Yousaf on X (formerly Twitter).

Shahid Afridi echoed similar thoughts. The former all-rounder said Pakistan’s crunch game against Namibia is a chance to try new players.

“Drop Shaheen, drop Shadab, and drop Babar,” Afridi said via SAMAA TV. “They’ve always let us down in crucial big games. Try fresh faces against Namibia and give the new players a chance to build confidence.”

Pakistan now face a crunch match against Namibia on Wednesday. Defeat means they will miss out on the Super Eights for a second-straight World Cup as their net run rate of -0.403 is worse than USA’s 0.788.

It would be a truly awful result for a team who came into the World Cup having beaten Australia 3-0. Also, they have had the benefit of playing all their matches in Colombo.

The situation highlights just how important Faheem Ashraf’s innings was against Netherlands on the opening day. Pakistan were on course for defeat following a huge collapse, but Ashraf’s 11-ball 29 spared their blushes.
