KAR vs QUE Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: PSL 2022 Match 4 | KAR vs QUE Dream11 Prediction Today | Karachi Kings vs Quetta Gladiators Key Players | Karachi Pitch Report

Two teams who lost their respective first matches will go head-to-head in match two of today’s PSL double-header. Both Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators missed opportunities to start the season well, with the Kings making an under-par score on the tournament’s opening night and Gladiators making some questionable decisions in the field.

After sitting pretty at 155/0 courtesy of brilliance from Will Smeed and Ahsan Ali, the Gladiators had the chance to score 200+ easily against Zalmi yesterday. They ended up with 190 and surrendered the advantage with spin bowling to Hussain Talat and Shoaib Malik instead of unleashing their talented pace attack in the key middle overs.

Kings, on the other hand, struggled to 124 on a decent batting pitch two nights ago. If they are to make any mark in this year’s tournament, they need more urgency with the bat, and today is a good opportunity to do that. Batting second is proving to be the way to go on this ground, but runs on the board always gives you a chance.

Possible Playing 11

Karachi Kings: 1. Babar Azam (c), 2. Sharjeel Khan, 3. Joe Clarke (wk), 4. Mohammad Nabi, 5. Tom Lammonby, 6. Lewis Gregory, 7. Aamer Yamin, 8. Mohammad Imran, 9. Mohammad Taha, 10. Umaid Asif, 11. Mohammad Ilyas

Quetta Gladiators: 1. Will Smeed, 2. Ahsan Ali, 3. Ben Duckett, 4. Sarfaraz Ahmed (c & wk), 5. Iftikhar Ahmed, 6. Mohammad Nawaz, 7. Sohail Tanvir, 8. James Faulkner, 9. Ashir Qureshi, 10. Mohammad Hasnain, 11. Naseem Shah

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Karachi Kings:

  • Babar Azam was not at his fluent best in the first match. His 29-ball 23 ensured that the Kings couldn’t get away from the Sultans, so this is an important innings for the skipper.
  • Babar has an under-par record by his standards against Quetta. The right-hander has struck 289 runs in 10 matches at an average of 28.90 and strike rate of 106.25.
  • Sharjeel Khan looked in decent touch last match (43 off 31 balls). However, the left-hander has a poor record vs Quetta (7 inns, 79 runs, avg. 11.29, SR 102), so can he turn that around today?
  • Joe Clarke will be key to the Kings’ batting effort. He scored 46 off 23 balls vs Quetta on this ground in PSL 2021. Also, Clarke is coming off an excellent BBL campaign: 419 runs in 13 innings at an average of 32.23 and strike rate of 151.26.
  • Mohammad Nabi looked in good bowling form vs Sultans, taking 2/17. He is struggling for batting form at the moment, but he comes up against the side whom he struck 30 off 14 balls last season.
  • Mohammad Ilyas was the Kings’ leading wicket-taker in PSL 2021 (eight scalps in five matches), which included 3/39 vs Quetta. He bowled just the one over against Sultans, so it will be interesting to see if he is used more here.

Quetta Gladiators:

  • Will Smeed was outstanding yesterday. The 20-year old took advantage of some early luck to play a blinder of a knock (97 off 62 balls), and he will be aiming for another big effort here.
  • Ahsan Ali also looked in fine touch vs Zalmi. The right-hander struck 73 off 46 balls, part of a 155-run opening stand with Smeed. He now has 254 runs to his name in seven T20s on this ground at an average of 36.28 and strike rate of 138.04.
  • Sarfaraz Ahmed has some solid numbers against Kings, with 210 runs in 10 innings at an average of 52.20 and strike rate of 120.00. The Quetta captain had a fine PSL 2021 campaign, with 321 runs in 10 innings at an average of 45.85 and strike rate of 137.76.
  • Sohail Tanvir has 10 wickets in 10 matches vs Karachi. However, he averages over 40 on this ground.
  • James Faulkner had a tough first game in PSL 2022, where he went the journey at the death (1/40). He was one of Quetta’s excellent performers in phase two of PSL 2021, where he took 13 wickets in six matches.
  • Mohammad Hasnain takes two wickets per match vs Karachi. The pace bowler has eight wickets in four games at an average of 15.00 and economy rate of 7.50.

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 12, Karachi Kings 5, Quetta Gladiators 7.
  • Karachi won both games against Quetta last season.
  • Ben Duckett recently scored the most runs for Brisbane Heat in BBL 11 (302) with three half-centuries in 12 matches.

National Stadium Karachi Pitch Report and Weather

Chasing is the way to go on this ground. The chasing team has won 15 of the last 16 PSL matches here, with dew playing a key role. Yesterday, Quetta were unable to defend 190.

A clear evening is forecast in Karachi.

MUL vs LAH Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: PSL 2022 Match 3

MUL vs LAH Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: PSL 2022 Match 3 | MUL vs LAH Dream11 Prediction Today | Multan Sultans vs Lahore Qalandars | Karachi Pitch Report

It was the perfect start to PSL 2022 for defending champions Multan Sultans, as they swept past Karachi Kings with ease on the tournament’s opening night.

The bowlers, led by Imran Tahir, showed why they will be a tough team to beat once again, restricting the Kings at all stages of the innings. Also, with the top three batsmen spending valuable time at the crease, Multan will be feeling confident of backing up their win with another in the first day match of PSL 2022.

Mohammad Rizwan’s team come up against a side seeking redemption after a poor PSL 2021 campaign. 2020 finalists Lahore Qalandars missed out on the playoffs last season, despite finishing with the same number of wins as second-placed Sultans (5). However, their net run rate of -0.583 was mighty costly, courtesy of two thumping losses to Sultans, so consistency in performance will be important.

The Qalandars have an exciting squad on paper once again, with the likes of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, David Wiese and Haris Rauf aiming to make the perfect start today. Then, when you consider they have international talent arriving soon, there is plenty to be optimistic about.

Possible Playing 11

Multan Sultans: 1. Shan Masood, 2. Mohammad Rizwan (c & wk), 3. Sohaib Maqsood, 4. Rilee Rossouw, 5. Tim David, 6. Khushdil Shah, 7. David Willey, 8. Imran Tahir, 9. Imran Khan sr, 10. Shahnawaz Dahani, 11. Ihsanullah

Rashid Khan is expected to miss this match as it is soon after his arrival to Pakistan. He has just completed an ODI series for Afghanistan vs Netherlands.

Lahore Qalandars: 1. Fakhar Zaman, 2. Abdullah Shafique, 3. Sohail Akhtar, 4. Mohammad Hafeez, 5. Ben Dunk (wk), 6. David Wiese, 7. Samit Patel, 8. Mohammad Imran, 9. Ahmed Daniyal, 10. Shaheen Shah Afridi (c), 11. Haris Rauf

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Multan Sultans:

  • Skipper Mohammad Rizwan, who scored over 2,000 T20 runs in 2021, made a solid start to PSL 2022 with an unbeaten half-century vs Karachi. Rizwan scored 76 (49) against Qalandars on this ground last season.
  • Shan Masood, who looked quite good for his 26 vs Karachi, has the most runs of any Sultans player vs Qalandars (155, avg. 31.00, SR 146.23).
  • Sohaib Maqsood started PSL 2022 in steady fashion, with a 31-ball 30 vs Kings. He was player of the tournament in PSL 2021, where he dominated the Qalandars, scoring 61* (41) and 60 (40) against them.
  • Shahnawaz Dahani was the top wicket-taker in PSL 2021 with 20 scalps. This included a superb 4/5 against Lahore in Abu Dhabi, after he took 2/39 against them on this ground last season.
  • The ageless Imran Tahir is showing no signs of stopping. The leg-spinner was at his best against Karachi, spinning a web around them to finish with 3/16. He was rightly awarded player of the match.
  • Tahir has taken seven wickets in five matches for Sultans vs Qalandars at an average of 17.43 and economy rate of 6.65.

Lahore Qalandars:

  • Fakhar Zaman has the most runs in Qalandars-Sultans matches with 325 runs in nine matches at an average of 36.11 and strike rate of 145.74. Zaman also has similar numbers at National Stadium, with 595 runs in 19 innings at an average of 33.06 and strike rate of 140.66.
  • Mohammad Hafeez has the fourth-most runs of any player on this ground, with 689 runs in 21 innings at an average of 43.06 and brilliant strike rate of 162.50. The experienced all-rounder also has some solid numbers vs Sultans, with 222 runs in seven knocks at an average of 37.00 and strike rate of 120.65.
  • David Wiese has been a terrific servant of PSL cricket. After a terrific campaign with Namibia in the T20 World Cup, Wiese will be looking to make an impact right away. He has a terrific record vs Sultans since 2019, with 139 runs in five innings at an average of 46.33 and strike rate of 182.89, along with seven wickets at an average of 18.14.
  • Skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi will have a key role to play. He has a superb record vs Sultans, with 17 scalps in nine matches at an average of 13.06 and economy rate of 6.80, including 2/29 and 3/23 last season. Also, he has 19 wickets in 13 matches on this ground (avg. 21.63, econ. 8.28).
  • Can Haris Rauf improve on poor numbers vs Sultans? The pacer has six wickets in seven matches at a high average of 46.00 and economy rate of over 10 runs per over. He also has an economy rate of 9.25 in 11 matches on this ground (14 wickets).

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 9, Multan Sultans 5, Lahore Qalandars 4.
  • Sultans smashed Qalandars by seven wickets and 80 runs in PSL 2021.
  • The chasing team has won 15 of the past 16 PSL matches on this ground.

National Stadium Karachi Pitch Report and Weather

Chasing teams are dominating, but given this is a day game with no dew, the team batting first may stand a chance. Teams batting second have won 15 of the past 16 PSL matches at the National Stadium in Karachi, including yesterday where Peshawar Zalmi chased 190 against Quetta Gladiators.

A clear day is forecast in Karachi, with a top of about 25 degrees.

QUE vs PES Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report: PSL 2022 Match 2 | QUE vs PES Dream11 Prediction Today | Quetta Gladiators vs Peshawar Zalmi Key Players | Karachi Pitch Report

How will Quetta Gladiators fare this season? Last season’s bottom-placed team will be aiming for a much better season in PSL 2022. To achieve that, they will need to start a lot better, after they lost each of their first four matches.

Then, to start the UAE leg, they lost by 10 wickets with 10 overs to spare against Islamabad United. While chasing teams fare well at Karachi (14 wins in last 15 PSL matches), the Gladiators need to ensure their batting holds up. They have the talent to produce better results, with the likes of Ben Duckett and Shimron Hetmyer alongside skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed and the much-maligned Umar Akmal.

Also, the talent in their pace bowling ranks, including James Faulkner who was excellent in the second leg of PSL 2021, gives the Gladiators fans something to be optimistic about.

Peshawar Zalmi will be aiming to one better this season after losing the PSL 2021 Final. They were up and down for most of the season, unable to string victories consecutively on a regular basis, so a strong start to the season will be a good foundation to work off. Once again, they have a mix of youth and experience, and it will be interesting to see how they fare.

Possible Playing 11

Shahid Afridi has tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss the Gladiators’ first four matches. Wahab Riaz is out for Zalmi.

Quetta Gladiators: 1. Ben Duckett, 2. Umar Akmal, 3. Shimron Hetmyer, 4. Sarfaraz Ahmed (c & wk), 5. Dan Lawrence, 6. Iftikhar Ahmed, 7. James Faulkner, 8. Mohammad Nawaz, 9. Naseem Shah, 10. Mohammad Hasnain, 11. Sohail Tanvir

Peshawar Zalmi: 1. Kamran Akmal (wk), 2. Hazratullah Zazai, 3. Haider Ali, 4. Tom Kohler-Cadmore, 5. Shoaib Malik (c), 6. Sherfane Rutherford, 7. Hussain Talat, 8. Sohail Khan, 9. Sameen Gul, 10. Mohammad Umar, 11. Usman Qadir

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Quetta Gladiators:

  • Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed was the shining light in a difficult 2021 season for the Gladiators. He scored 321 runs in 10 innings at an average of 45.85 and strike rate of 137.76, including scores of 81 (40) and 35* (29) vs Zalmi.
  • Overall against Zalmi, Sarfaraz has scored 383 runs in 15 innings at an average of 29.46 and strike rate of 140.81. Also, the keeper-batsman has scored 459 runs in 20 innings at Karachi at an average of 27.00.
  • What will Umar Akmal produce? He has 186 career runs in nine innings vs Zalmi at an average of 37.20 and strike rate of 123.18.
  • Ben Duckett could prove to be a solid addition for the Gladiators. The Englishman had some decent moments in his recent BBL stint, where he scored the most runs for Brisbane Heat (302) with three half-centuries in 12 matches.
  • James Faulkner was terrific for the Gladiators in the second leg of PSL 2021. He took 13 wickets in six matches at an average of 12.00 and strike rate of 11, and he will be aiming to make an immediate impact in PSL 2022.
  • Mohammad Nawaz has the most wickets for Gladiators against Zalmi. The left-arm spinner has 22 wickets to his name in 18 matches vs Peshawar at an average of 22.55 and economy rate of 7.67.
  • Mohammad Hasnain, who was impressive in the recent BBL, has 12 wickets in seven matches vs Zalmi (avg. 18.67, econ. 8.45).

Peshawar Zalmi:

  • Kamran Akmal has scored the most runs in Gladiators-Zalmi matches (459). He averages 25.50 and strikes at 123.72, including 59 off 37 balls in his last innings against them.
  • Kamran is one of three players who has at least 1,000 T20 runs at National Stadium in Karachi (1,005, avg. 33.50, SR 141.75).
  • Shoaib Malik, who scored the fourth-most runs in PSL 2021 (354), has a good career record against Quetta, with 342 runs in 12 innings at an average of 34.20 and strike rate of 137.35.
  • Malik has a superb record at Karachi. The right-hander has scored 1,049 runs in 33 innings at an average of 49.95 and strike rate of 133.63.
  • Shefane Rutherford will be key as a finisher. He was superb in CPL 2021, as well as PSL 2021, where he scored 276 runs in 12 innings at an average of 34.50 and strike rate of 153.33.
  • Sameen Gul will be key in the absence of Wahab. He has five wickets in five matches vs Zalmi at an average of 31.40 and economy rate of 7.85.

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 18, Peshawar 9, Quetta 8, N/R 1.
  • Zalmi have won the past four matches between the teams.
  • Hazratullah Zazai was in some good touch in last month’s T10 tournament in Abu Dhabi, where he scored 55* and 66* late in the tournament.
  • Sohail Tanvir has gone wicketless in four matches for Quetta for Peshawar.

National Stadium Karachi Pitch Report and Weather

The chasing team has won 14 of the past 15 PSL matches on this ground. The average first innings score was 168 in PSL 2021, and the team batting first today needs to put on a big score after Karachi made an under-par 124/5 yesterday.

A cool and clear evening is forecast in Karachi. Dew may play a role. Expect the captain who wins the toss to choose to field first.

SCO vs SIX Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: BBL 2021/22 Final

SCO vs SIX Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: BBL 2021/22 Final | SCO vs SIX Dream11 Prediction Today | Scorchers vs Sixers Key Players | Docklands Pitch Report

After 60 matches, it is somewhat fitting that BBL 11 will be decided in a game with a team impacted by COVID-19. Numerous teams – particularly Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Stars – felt the brunt of the virus in a tournament CA kept alive by all means possible, and now it’s the Sydney Sixers’ turn to put together a team amid COVID-19 and injuries.

That they are in the BBL 11 Final is quite the miracle. Hayden Kerr, sent in to open in a pressure run chase, and with a previous top-score of 22, smashed 98* in one of the all-time great BBL knocks to guide the Sixers home against the Strikers. It was a reminder that the Sixers can never be written off even with the odds stacked against them, as they have the depth and belief to stay in the fight.

And no doubt the odds are stacked against them here against a Perth Scorchers side that is stacked. Ashton Turner’s team has a shot at revenge after losing last year’s Final, and after beating the Sixers three times already this season, they know how to get the job done. They look the complete side from 1-11, with Kurtis Patterson and Josh Inglis firing at the top setting a platform for Marsh, Munro Turner and Evans batting way down at six to build off.

It is a superb batting lineup matched by the bowling attack. With Jhye Richardson back in the fold, the Scorchers blew the Sixers’ top order away in last week’s Qualifier, and they will be aiming for more of the same at Docklands – a ground where they have not lost at yet this season.

Both the Sixers and Scorchers have won three BBL titles each, and both have the opportunity here to go one clear of the other. In fact, the Sixers will be aiming for three in a row, which would be quite the feat given the challenges they have faced in recent days.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Perth Scorchers:

  • Kurtis Patterson is arguably the most improved player in the BBL. Before this season, Patterson would barely strike at 120 in T20s. In BBL 11, he is striking at 143.91, with 390 runs in 12 innings at an average of 32.50. This includes a 41-ball 64 in the Qualifier against Sixers on this ground.
  • Josh Inglis found his best form in the Qualifier vs Sixers. He was awarded player of the match for his brilliant 79 off 49 balls, along with three catches. Overall vs Sixers, Inglis has scored 221 runs in seven innings at an average of 36.83 and strike rate of 144.44.
  • Mitch Marsh is set to play through a hamstring niggle. So, it is unlikely that he will bowl. However, his batting has been so good that he could still make a big impact on the match.
  • He is in the BBL team of the tournament despite playing just seven matches this season. He has scored 342 runs in BBL 11 at an average of 68.40 and strike rate of 147.41.
  • Marsh vs Sixers: 11 inns, 258 runs, avg. 32.25, SR 127.72. Marsh at Docklands: 8 inns, 277 runs, avg. 39.57, SR 141.33.
  • Andrew Tye has the third-most wickets in BBL 11. The seamer has taken 22 wickets in 15 matches at an average of 18.59 and strike rate of 8.26. This includes seven wickets against the Sixers.
  • In fact, Tye is the leading wicket-taker in Sixers-Scorchers matches with 26 in 16 innings at an average of 16.77 and economy rate of 7.47.
  • Jhye Richardson (12 matches, avg. 25.00) and Jason Behrendhorff (13 matches, econ. 6.47) both have 15 career wickets against the Sixers. Both took two wickets each in last week’s Qualifier.
  • Jhye Richardson has a superb nine wickets in four matches on this ground at an average of 9.67. Behrendorff also loves bowling at Docklands, with 15 scalps in eight matches at an average of 11.00.

Sydney Sixers:

  • Hayden Kerr produced one of the all-time great BBL knocks two nights ago. Predominently a left-arm bowler who has taken the second-most wickets in BBL 11 (24), Kerr struck 98* when opening the batting to lead the Sixers home vs Strikers.
  • Kerr took seven wickets in three matches vs Scorchers in BBL 11 (4/32, 1/30, 2/37).
  • Can Moises Henriques impact this match? The skipper has the most runs in Sixers-Scorchers matches, with 381 runs in 16 innings at an average of 25.40 and strike rate of 120.19.
  • Henriques has a solid record at Docklands, with 223 runs in seven innings at an average of 37.17 and strike rate of 119.25.
  • The Sixers also need a big performance from the experienced Dan Christian. He is a serial winner in T20 tournaments. He struck 73 (61) and 35* (20) vs Scorchers in the league stage of BBL 11.
  • Sean Abbott was back to his all-round best against Strikers. He took 3/27 and scored a crucial 41. He has 19 wickets in 16 innings vs Scorchers, and he will be looking to bounce back against them after conceding 0/39 in the Qualifier on this ground.
  • Ben Dwarshuis smashed 66 off 28 balls vs Scorchers last week, which further highlights the Sixers’ incredible depth. The left-armer is wicketless in his last two games, but is an experienced wicket-taker vs Scorchers (14 inns, 15 wickets, avg. 24.20, econ. 7.31).

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 23, Scorchers 14, Sixers 9.
  • Perth Scorchers have beaten Sydney Sixers three times in BBL 11.
  • Ashton Turner has the most runs of any Scorchers player against Sixers (381, avg. 27, SR 150).
  • Colin Munro averages 50.25 with the bat on this ground (201 runs) and 31 vs Sixers (155 runs).
  • Ashton Agar has taken four wickets in his last two matches vs Sixers. This is after he took just one wicket in his previous eight innings.
  • Steve O’Keefe vs Scorchers: 17 innings, 11 wickets, avg. 39.00, econ. 7.27.

Possible Playing 11

Perth Scorchers are looking stacked. Mitch Marsh has been named in the squad and is expected to play before resting for the Sri Lanka T20I series.

Perth Scorchers: 1. Kurtis Patterson, 2. Josh Inglis (wk), 3. Mitch Marsh, 4. Colin Munro, 5. Ashton Turner (c), 6. Laurie Evans, 7. Ashton Agar, 8. Andrew Tye, 9. Jhye Richardson, 10. Jason Behrendorff, 11. Peter Hatzoglou

Sydney Sixers are busted and scrambling for numbers. They are yet to officially name their squad. So much so that Dan Christian put out a hilarious tweet on Thursday asking for players. Moises Henriques and Steve O’Keefe are carrying calf complaints, while Jordan Silk has re-injured his hamstring. This is in addition to Josh Philippe and the Edwards brothers out with COVID-19.

Steve Smith is a chance of playing, but it is unlikely according to reports. At this stage, nothing has been confirmed. Daniel Hughes is also a chance of returning.

Sydney Sixers: 1. Hayden Kerr, 2. Justin Avendano, 3. Jake Carder/Daniel Hughes, 4. Moises Henriques (c), 5. Dan Christian, 6. Jay Lenton (wk), 7. Sean Abbott, 8. Ben Dwarshuis, 9. Jackson Bird, 10. Nathan Lyon, 11. Steve O’Keefe

Marvel Stadium Docklands Pitch Report and Weather

The Docklands surface has been a good one for batting in BBL 11 compared to previous seasons. The average first innings score on this ground this season is 175, with the team batting first winning seven of 10 matches.

Although there is some heavy rain forecast in Melbourne today, it is no issue as the stadium has a roof.

Their batting looks strong once again, with Mohammad Rizwan, Sohaib Maqsood and co. tasked with producing the form they did last season. Shahnawaz Dahani had a breakthrough season with the ball in 2021 and will be aiming to replicate that sort of form in a T20 World Cup year, especially on what is expected to be an excellent batting pitch in Karachi.

Karachi Kings, despite qualifying the playoffs for a sixth consecutive time in 2021, fell away in the UAE leg of the tournament. They had lost three matches in a row at one point, before bowing out in the Eliminator.

Babar Azam is leading the side this season, and he will be looking to make an immediate impact with the bat against his opposite number and Pakistan teammate Rizwan. Also, the Kings’ bowlers will be tasked with keeping the Sultans’ batting quiet, which promises to be quite the ask in such conditions.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Karachi Kings:

  • Babar Azam easily has the most runs in Kings-Sultan matches. The Kings’ skipper has a superb 400 runs in seven matches at an average of 80.00 and strike rate of 131.58, including 90* off 60 balls on this ground last season.

  • Sharjeel Khan averages just 12.75 in four innings vs Multan, and 23.30 in 25 T20s on this ground. Can he turn these numbers around?
  • Mohammad Amir has the most wickets in Kings-Sultan matches, with nine wickets in seven matches at an average of 21.78 and economy rate of 7.30. Amir had a very tough PSL 2021 campaign, where he took just five wickets in 11 matches at an average of 69.80 and economy rate of 8.37.
  • Amir at National Stadium, Karachi: 17 matches, 15 wickets, avg. 32.80, econ. 7.51.

  • Rilee Rossouw averaged just 19 in PSL 2021, but he delivered in the Final as he smashed 50 off 21 balls. Also, the left-hander has scored just 133 runs in 10 innings at Karachi at an average of 19.00, and averages 24 in 11 matches vs Karachi Kings. However, he was player of the match (44 off 24 balls) in his last match vs Kings.
  • Shahnawaz Dahani had an outstanding PSL 2021 campaign. The seamer took the most wickets of any bowler, with 20 scalps in 11 matches at an average of 17.00 and economy rate of 8.42.

National Stadium Karachi Pitch Report and Weather

Karachi is historically one of the best batting grounds not only in Pakistan, but world cricket. Pakistan and West Indies played out a high-scoring T20I series on this ground in December, with an average first innings score of 193.

In last season’s PSL, the chasing team absolutely dominated, winning 13 of the 14 matches. The average first innings score was 168 in PSL 2021, and the team batting first today needs to put on a big score.

A cool and clear evening is forecast in Karachi. Dew may play a role. Expect the captain who wins the toss to choose to field first.

Some Australia players nervous about touring Pakistan: report

Cricket News: Some Australia players nervous about touring Pakistan: report | Sydney Morning Herald reports Australia players a little nervous for tour

Some Australian players are reportedly nervous about touring Pakistan due to political unrest in the region. According to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald (SMH), a source close to the Australian team said that “we’re all toey about it [the tour]” to The Age and the Herald.

The concerns have come as a bomb killed at least three people in Lahore, injuring at least 28. Also, Pakistan Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said that terrorism has increased by 35 per cent since August last year after the Taliban took over Afghanistan.

Australia set to name full-strength squad for Pakistan tour: “security plans robust”

Australia are set to name their squad for the tour comprising of three Tests, three ODIs and a single T20I. It was originally believed that no Australian player expressed any concerns about the tour, before the SMH report today.

However, chief selector George Bailey said that the security plans are thorough and should provide a great level of safety for Australia’s first tour of Pakistan since 1998.

“Very, very robust and very, very thorough,” said Bailey after security briefings. The plans are still being put in place ahead of Australia’s five T20Is at home to Sri Lanka before the Pakistan tour.

Pakistan fans hopeful of tour going ahead

Pakistan fans were left heartbroken after New Zealand called off their tour just hours before an ODI last year. England soon followed suit ahead of the T20 World Cup.

Fans are desperate for more high-profile cricket in the country, and Australia’s visit will be sure to create huge excitement. PSL 2022 is set to begin on January 27 in Pakistan, and fans will be hoping all that goes smoothly ahead of Australia’s tour which begins with the first Test in Karachi on March 3.

SIX vs STR Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: BBL 2021/22 Challenger

SIX vs STR Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: BBL 2021/22 Challenger | SIX vs STR Dream11 Prediction Today | Sixers vs Strikers Key Players | SCG Pitch Report

It has been one of the most incredible turnarounds by Adelaide Strikers, especially with Rashid Khan unavailable for the past five matches. After sitting towards the bottom of the table for most of BBL 11, Peter Siddle’s team has sprung into life, winning their past six matches. They have peaked just at the right time of the season, and meet a Sydney Sixers team that, despite being towards the top of the table for the majority of BBL 11, have suffered dips in form in recent times.

So, this battle at the SCG has an interesting feel to it. On current form, the Strikers win, but it doesn’t always work that way. The Sixers have been one of the most consistent teams over the years in BBL, and they know what it takes to get the job done in the big games. However, they will be without Josh Philippe in a huge blow to their chances, as the keeper-batsman contracted COVID-19.

It’s all-or-nothing now for Moises Henriques’ team after a thumping at the hands of the Perth Scorchers on Saturday night. If they want a rematch in the Final, they will have to play very well in front of their home fans in a pressure match. This sort of pressure is the kind the Strikers have already faced in the playoffs, winning two knockout matches against the Hurricanes and Thunder respectively.

So will it be Carey or Henriques who stars? Short or Christian in the all-round department? Siddle or Abbott? There are a number of key matchups that make this game one not to miss on Australia Day.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Sydney Sixers:

  • Moises Henriques must step up in Philippe’s absence. He has 400+ runs in BBL 11 (420 runs, avg. 42.00, SR 136.80). The Sixers skipper also made two starts vs Strikers in BBL 11 (28 and 17), part of 264 career runs against them at an average of 33.00 and strike rate of 130.05.
  • Dan Christian has struck 72 runs vs Strikers since the start of last season at a strike rate of 211.76. He also took 3/8 against them at the SCG earlier this season. Key player in a big game.
  • Sean Abbott has had a poor last three games with the ball (0/44, 1/39 and 0/39). He comes up against a side he has a good career record against (9 inns, 15 wickets, avg. 18.20, econ. 8.95) at a ground he loves bowling at (38 inns, 58 wickets, avg. 18.57, SR 13.24).
  • Abbott took 3/24 against the Strikers at the SCG this season. He dismissed Jake Weatherald, Matt Short and Thomas Kelly.
  • Hayden Kerr has enjoyed a breakthrough season. The left-arm seamer has taken the second-most wickets of any bowler in BBL 11 (24), including 1/11 and 1/37 vs Strikers.
  • Ben Dwarshuis (15 wickets in 11 innings) and Steve O’Keefe (13 wickets in eight innings) also have good numbers vs Strikers. Key bowlers.

Adelaide Strikers:

  • Matt Short has been outstanding in BBL 11. His 487 runs is the second-most by any player in the tournament, and have come at a strike rate of 156.08.
  • Short played just the one match vs Sixers in the regular season, where he scored an 8-ball 16 at the SCG. Overall, he has scored just 43 runs in six innings vs Sixers at an average of 7.17. However, he is in the form to turn those numbers around.
  • Alex Carey has been excellent since returning to the BBL, making scores of 67 and 23 in two crunch games. He has 189 runs in seven innings vs Sixers at an average of 31.50, with 114 runs coming at the SCG at an average of 57.00 and strike rate of 140.74.
  • Ian Cockbain has been a magnificent addition to the Strikers team. He has scored 191 runs in five innings in BBL 11 at an average of 63.66 and strike rate of 150.39, including a player of the match 65 off 38 balls last match vs Thunder.
  • Cockbain dominated the Sixers nine days ago. He struck 71* off 42 balls.
  • Jono Wells has struck 306 runs in nine innings vs Sixers since December 2017 at an average of 76.50 and strike rate of 124.90. He struck 32 (18) and 27* (23) against them in the league stage, but how much batting will he get in this game with a stacked top four ahead of him?
  • Peter Siddle has had a season to remember. The Strikers captain is the leading wicket-taker with 29, including 2/32 last game vs Sixers. However, those figures of 2/32 make up half of Siddle’s wickets vs Sixers, as he has just four scalps in nine innings against them at an average of 64.50.
  • Fawad Ahmed took 1/16 and 3/16 vs Sixers in the league stage. The Sixers batsmen found it difficult to get him away. Also, Fawad has taken nine wickets in his last six games, plus has 10 wickets in nine matches on this ground.

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 16, Sixers 10, Strikers 6.
  • Both Sixers and Strikers won a match against each other in BBL 11.
  • Travis Head has a century to his name vs Sixers, achieved back in 2015 against an attack that featured Ben Dwarshuis and Sean Abbott.

Possible Playing 11

Josh Philippe, Jack Edwards and Mickey Edwards are all out with COVID-19. Daniel Hughes will have a late fitness test on his ankle injury that he suffered before the Scorchers match.

Sydney Sixers: 1. Jay Lenton (wk), 2. Justin Avendano, 3. Daniel Hughes/Nick Bertus, 4. Moises Henriques (c), 5. Jordan Silk, 6. Dan Christian, 7. Sean Abbott, 8. Hayden Kerr, 9. Ben Dwarshuis, 10. Nathan Lyon, 11. Steve O’Keefe

Adelaide Strikers: 1. Alex Carey (wk), 2. Matt Short, 3. Ian Cockbain, 4. Travis Head, 5. Jono Wells, 6. Matt Renshaw, 7. Thomas Kelly, 8. Peter Siddle (c), 9. Henry Thornton, 10. Harry Conway, 11. Fawad Ahmed

SCG Pitch Report and Weather

Expect a true batting surface for this clash. The average first innings score in five matches at the SCG this season is 175, with the team batting first winning three of them. Last match, Sixers smashed 197 vs Thunder batting first, and ended up winning by 60 runs.

The weather forecast should be mostly fine for this match, with a top of 27 degrees.

Beth Mooney on track for surprise return in Ashes Test

Cricket News: Beth Mooney on track for surprise return in Ashes Test | Australia batter Beth Mooney a good chance of playing Test match vs England

Australia star batter Beth Mooney is considered a solid chance of playing the Ashes Test against England starting Thursday. Mooney, who fractured her jaw on the eve of the T20I series, is progressing quicker than expected and is determined to play in the one-off Test against England at Manuka Oval in Canberra.

Mooney went under the knife just a week ago. Coach Matthew Mott confirmed on Sunday that she was recovering well, after Mooney was spotted facing throwdowns in the Adelaide Oval nets on Friday.

Also, the left-hander was running laps in the Adelaide rain on Sunday with the physical conditioning coach.

Beth Mooney has “definitely got her eye on that Test match in Canberra”

Australia vice-captain Rachael Haynes confirmed that Mooney is practicing and having a run without any pain.

“The last couple of days, the swelling around her face has gone down quite substantially,” said Haynes on Sunday.

“Just having a bit of a chat with her and checking in with how she’s been going, she’s feeling really confident. She had a hit today and also a run around and she’s not in any pain.

“Without a doubt she’s definitely got her eye on that Test match in Canberra.”

All eyes on Canberra forecast after Adelaide rain ruins T20I series

Australia leads the multi-format Ashes series 4-2 after winning the first T20I courtesy of Tahlia McGrath’s all-round brilliance. However, the second and third matches were washed out due to rain, with just 4.2 overs possible across both games.

Now, all eyes are on the Canberra weather for the four-day Test match. Rain is forecast on days three and four in particular, prompting hopes that the forecast changes in the coming days.

England captain Heather Knight was left frustrated at the weather after the Sydney rain ruined their T20 World Cup hopes in 2020.

“The weather gods don’t like us here, do they,” said Knight.

“I think I’ve had more games in my career rained off in Australia than in England.”

Why are West Indies so bad in ODI cricket?

Cricket News: Why are West Indies so bad in ODI cricket? | Looking at why West Indies are so bad in ODIs after 2-1 home loss to Ireland

The performance of West Indies in ODI cricket is hitting a new low with each passing day, with their most recent embarrassment being a shocking series defeat at home to Ireland. Despite having many dynamic hitters and some really talented bowlers in their lineup, the men in maroon have been mediocre in the 50-over format for quite a while now.

Since the start of 2021, West Indies have lost seven of the 12 ODIs they have played. The recent series loss to Ireland requires serious introspection into their ODI gameplan.

Let’s have a look at the reasons behind this mediocrity and find out how they can improve.

West Indies were bowled out for less than 200 runs in five out of the seven games they have lost since 2021. This clearly indicates that their batting has been their major nemesis in this period. The Windies batters have been poor against spin bowling, which is evident in the numbers below.

Balls facedRuns scoredWickets lostAverageStrike rate
6793502912.0951.54

In most games, they have lost the plot midway in their innings which has led to their disastrous performance with the bat. So, they need to improve their game against spin in the middle overs.

The West Indies side that took the field against Bangladesh in early 2021 was inexperienced consisting of young players. But, the side that lost to Australia and Ireland at home had some big names as far as the batting unit is concerned and thus it was their first-choice batting lineup.

Unfortunately, their senior players have failed to fire big time, which has resulted in some horrendous defeats. The opening duo of Shai Hope and Evin Lewis has more or less done its job, but the middle order comprising of experienced players like Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard and Jason Holder has not delivered.

Here are the stats of the three mentioned players since the beginning of 2021.

 InningsRunsAverageStrike rate
Pooran812821.3370.32
Pollard82103092.10
Holder813322.1670

(Performance since 2021)

If we consider the four games West Indies have lost which these three were a part of, their numbers are nothing short of miserable as indicated in the table below.

 RunsAverageStrike rate
Pooran61.522.22
Pollard7117.7568.29
Holder521357.77

(Performance in lost games)

Therefore, it is evident that these three senior players haven’t been at their best since 2021 and they have to step up for the betterment of their team from now onwards.

Apart from the collective batting failure, there have been some questionable selections as well. Jason Mohammed, despite being repeatedly unimpressive, was given a long rope until the recently concluded series against Ireland.

On the other hand, players like Sunil Ambris and Shimron Hetmyer, who have pretty decent numbers in ODIs, haven’t got continuous games to prove themselves. Darren Bravo, who scored a century against Sri Lanka, was dropped right after a poor series against Australia. So, it seems like there is an absence of clarity in the thought process regarding the best possible line up they need to form prior to the ODI World Cup to be played next year. The management should prepare a blue print and act accordingly from now onwards if they want to succeed in the mega event.

These are the probable reasons behind the struggle of a decent team like West Indies in ODIs. If they want to be a competitive enough side, they need to address these issues soon before things get really out of hand.
