ZIM vs BAN 1st ODI Dream11 Prediction Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | ZIM vs BAN 1st ODI Dream11 Prediction Today | Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh 1st ODI Key Players | Harare Pitch Report

The Zimbabwe-Bangladesh rivalry has another chapter, with the ODI series having an extra dimension this time around. Not only will both sides be keen to win bragging rights over the other, but important ODI Super League points are up for grabs.

For Bangladesh, they can certainly use this series as an opportunity to solidify their standing towards the top of the Super League table. Before England’s brilliance in their home season, Bangladesh sat atop the rankings thanks to series victories against West Indies and Sri Lanka. However, Mushfiqur Rahim, who was outstanding in the series against Sri Lanka, won’t be available for this series for personal reasons, placing onus on the others, including the returning Shakib Al Hasan, to produce the goods.

This series is more crucial for Zimbabwe, however. They currently sit bottom of the points table, and face a tough test with various experienced players, including Sean Williams and Craig Ervine, missing for various reasons. They can hold hope in the fact that Harare conditions can enable their bowlers to put Bangladesh’s batsmen under pressure, particularly if they get the chance to bowl first. Indeed, the Zimbabweans showed some good signs in the Test match, but need to produced prolonged periods of good cricket to get over the line.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Zimbabwe:

  • With the absence of so many experienced players, Brendan Taylor undoubtedly has a key role to play. The stand-in Zimbabwe skipper was outstanding in the Test (81 off 92 balls and 92 off 73 balls).
  • Taylor has the second-most runs of any player in ZIM-BAN ODIs (1,410). However, he will be looking to improve on his average of 28.77 in his 53 ODIs vs Bangladesh. In Zimbabwe, this head-to-head average increases to 32.22 (580 runs).
  • Dion Myers scored 42 off 29 balls in the tour match a couple of days ago. He also comes into the match on the back of two starts in the Test match, so he has time at the crease under his belt.
  • Wesley Madhevere showed some very positive signs in white-ball cricket to date. He has made a double-figure score in each of his six knocks in ODI cricket, including scores of 35, 52 and 42 vs Bangladesh in Sylhet last year.
  • The presence of Sikandar Raza can hold Zimbabwe in good stead. He will be keen to improve on his career numbers vs Bangladesh (480 runs avg. 28.33, nine wickets avg. 60.55). However, out of his 17 ODIs vs the Tigers, just three have been at home, back in 2013 (61 runs).
  • This is set to be Ryan Burl’s first ODI against Bangladesh. In two T20Is against them, he has scored a half-century and has a strike rate of 165.71. He will be keen to make a difference.
  • Blessing Muzarabani has the potential to take wickets in any match he plays. He was superb in Pakistan in 2020, taking seven wickets in three matches at an average of 19.71.

Bangladesh:

  • Tamim Iqbal missed the Test due to a knee injury, but played in the one-day warm-up match where he scored 66 off 62 balls. No player has more runs in BAN-ZIM ODIs than Tamim, with 1,684 at a fine average of 43.17.
  • However, Tamim has a poor record at Harare Sports Club. In five ODIs on this ground, Tamim has struck 86 runs at an average of 17.20. Can he improve on this today?
  • Shakib Al Hasan’s 1,404 ODI runs vs Zimbabwe come at an average of 40.11. In Zimbabwe, Shakib has scored 595 runs at an average of 39.66, along with 18 wickets in 18 ODIs at an average of 39.05.
  • In Harare, Shakib still poses a solid record of 236 runs in eight ODIs at an average of 36.29, along with eight wickets at 37.75.
  • Liton Das remains inconsistent in international cricket. However, he enjoys playing against Zimbabwe. In nine ODIs against them, Liton has struck 422 runs at 52.75, including two centuries. He is coming off a fine knock of 95 in the Test match.
  • Mahmudullah is coming off a memorable final Test, where he scored 150 and won player of the match. His role as a finisher will be key here; he has 686 runs vs Zimbabwe at an average of 31.18.
  • Mustafizur Rahman, if fit, will have a key role to play. He is a genuine wicket-taker in ODIs, with 16 in nine games vs Zimbabwe at an average of just 16.06. Mohammad Saifuddin also has a fine record vs Zimbabwe, with 11 scalps in five ODIs at an average of 17.09.

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 76, Zimbabwe 28, Bangladesh 47.
  • In Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe lead Bangladesh 15-13.
  • Mehidy Hasan Miraz is the second-ranked bowler in ODI cricket. He will be key here with his accuracy and Zimbabwe’s tendency to lose wickets to spin.
  • Taskin Ahmed is yet to play an ODI vs Zimbabwe. He is coming off a fine Test match, where he took five wickets and constantly looked threatening.
  • Tendai Chatara currently has the most wickets of any current Zimbabwe bowler vs Bangladesh (16 in 11 matches, avg. 30.68).
  • No player has more ODI runs at Harare Sports Club than Brendan Taylor (2,067 runs, avg. 43.06).

Possible Playing 11

Brian Chari, Chamu Chibhabha, Craig Ervine, Sean Williams and Tendai Chisoro are all out of the squad, with the likes of Ryan Burl and Sikandar Raza available. Timycen Maruma scored a run-a-ball 59 in the warm-up match two days ago.

Zimbabwe: 1. Tinashe Kamunhukamwe, 2. Tadiwanashe Marumani, 3. Dion Myers, 4. Brendan Taylor (c & wk), 5. Wesley Madhevere, 6. Sikandar Raza, 7. Ryan Burl, 8. Donald Tiripano, 9. Richard Ngarava, 10. Blessing Muzarabani, 11. Tendai Chatara

Mushfiqur Rahim is out for personal reasons. Also, Mustafizur Rahman is reportedly a 50-50 chance to play after picking up an injury in the warm-up match, where he bowled just one delivery. Yesterday, captain Tamim Iqbal said, “He is 50-50 now. We will get an idea about him after today.”

Also, Tamim is set to play, but has to manage his knee injury. “My injury is in such a state that it will not go away quickly. It will not heal in five to six days. The physio gave me a plan. Hopefully I can manage it in the series,” said Tamim.

Bangladesh: 1 Tamim Iqbal (c), 2 Mohammad Naim, 3 Shakib Al Hasan, 4 Liton Das (wk), 5 Mosaddek Hossain, 6 Mahmudullah, 7 Afif Hossain, 8 Mehidy Hasan Miraz, 9 Mohammad Saifuddin, 10 Taskin Ahmed, 11 Shoriful Islam/Mustafizur Rahman

Harare Sports Club Pitch Report and Weather

This is the first ODI at Harare since Zimbabwe beat UAE 4-0 in 2019. Three of those matches were won by the team chasing, which can be a trend to follow in Harare ODIs. In 2011, when Bangladesh last played ODIs in Harare, Zimbabwe won two of three games when chasing after taking advantage of some early morning movement.

The captain who wins the toss here could look to bowl first with afternoon conditions likely to be pleasant for batting. The forecast is for a top of 19 degrees with mostly sunny conditions.

Zimbabwe will need their experienced players to lead the way, with good contributions from up-and-coming players. Bowling first could be an advantage, but Bangladesh, even without Mushfiqur Rahim, are the favourites and should win.

T20 World Cup contenders? 3 areas for Pakistan to improve

3 areas for Pakistan to work on if they wish to be T20 World Cup contenders | T20 World Cup contenders? 3 areas for Pakistan to improve

We are getting closer to the T20 World Cup with each passing day. Therefore, it is important for every team to resolve whatever issues they have in their T20 side prior to the mega event.

Tagged as the “unpredictables” in the cricket fraternity, Pakistan have a very decent T20I record in recent times. However, things have not been as smooth as they appear on paper. They have some real issues, which have been exposed in recent times, and need to address those quickly in order to get themselves prepared for the T20 World Cup.

In this article, I am going to highlight three such areas to work on for Pakistan in their upcoming series against a strong English side.

Performance of the middle order batsmen

3 areas for Pakistan to work on if they wish to be T20 World Cup contenders | T20 World Cup contenders? 3 areas for Pakistan to improve
Pakistan T20 World Cup contenders? Sohaib Maqsood can make a difference given his recent form.

Pakistan have won seven out of their 10 T20Is in 2021. In the seven games they have won, their top three batsmen have scored 77.78% of the total runs (excluding extras). On the other hand, their top order has contributed 49.72% of the total runs in the three T20Is they have lost. This shows that their batting relies largely on their top three, and they have failed as a batting unit whenever their top order batsmen have failed to score big.

If I consider the T20Is they have played since the start of 2020, batsmen from numbers 4-7 batsmen have cumulative average and SR of just 18.53 and 121.14. They have a boundary run percentage of a mere 52.8,1 and have taken 7.11 deliveries to hit a single boundary.

So, it is evident from these facts that this problem has been persistent with them for quite a while now. They have tried so many players at different positions, but have not been able to find their best players to bat in the middle order so far, which is definitely a matter of concern. They are in the “group of death” involving Australia, West Indies and New Zealand in the upcoming T20 World Cup, need to resolve their middle order woes to be competitive.

Batting in the powerplay while batting first

Contrary to their reputation, Pakistan have been a good chasing side in recent times. Since 2020, they have won 10 out of the 11 games they were required to chase.

However, they have been ordinary while batting first as they have lost four out of the nine such games. One of the major reasons for these defeats is the approach of their batsmen in the powerplay phase. Generally, in the first six overs of a T20 game, you need to exploit the field restrictions and take your chances in order to provide a quick start to your side. But, the Pakistani batsmen haven’t been able to do that consistently.

Talking about the T20Is they have batted first in since 2020, the Pakistani batsmen have a cumulative SR of just 111.12 in the first six overs. Their dot-ball percentage is a huge 48.76 and they have taken almost six balls to hit a boundary in the powerplay phase. Also, they have lost almost two wickets on an average in the first six overs of the game, which has put them on the back foot.

Therefore, they definitely need to work on this area if they want to put challenging totals while batting first.

Bowling in the powerplay against top sides since 2020

If I exclude Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, Pakistan have played 13 games against top-class opponents like England, New Zealand and South Africa since 2020. They have won seven and lost five out of these 13 matches; one game being abandoned due to rain.

In those 12 completed games, the Pakistani bowlers have not been up to the mark in the first six overs. Statistically, they have a cumulative bowling average of 38.18 in the powerplay, coupled with a strike rate of 27, highlighting their struggle to take wickets in the powerplay. They have conceded runs at an economy rate of 8.48, conceding a boundary every 4.59 balls.

Cause for significant improvement.

On a given day, Pakistan can certainly beat any side stronger than them on paper. However, their unpredictability prevents them from being a consistent side in international cricket. These are the three areas that I feel they need to work on to become a bit more consistent from now onwards. Their upcoming series against England will provide them the opportunity and I am hoping for some improvement by the men in green.

WI vs AUS 4th T20 Dream11 Prediction Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report

WI vs AUS 4th T20 Dream11 Prediction Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | WI vs AUS 4th T20 Dream11 Prediction Today | West Indies vs Australia 4th T20I Key Players | St. Lucia Pitch Report

With barely a whimper, Australia lost the T20I series – a scarcely believable proposition given the position they were in in the opening T20I. Since the opening 10 overs of their batting this series, Australia have struggled, with the latest being a score of 142/5 where they simply couldn’t accelerate.

Contrast this with West Indies. The Windies have hit an astounding 30 sixes in three games, a huge 19 more than Australia’s paultry 11. Also, they will be thrilled with the return to form of Chris Gayle, as the bowlers continue to dominate the Aussie batsmen who don’t have many answers.

Now, the attention turns to keeping hopes of a series whitewash alive. The way things are going, it would take a brave person to bet otherwise.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

West Indies:

  • Welcome back, Chris Gayle. Before the last game, Gayle had struck just 102 runs in nine innings in T20Is in 2021, at an average and strike rate of just 12.75 and 92.72. The great T20 batsman then slammed a 38-ball 67, going past 14,000 T20 runs in the process in a reminder to “respect the Universe Boss”.
  • Andre Russell is enjoying a fine series. His 82 runs have come at an amazing strike rate of 215.78, which is just below his T20 career strike rate on this ground (224.66). He has also taken a couple of wickets.
  • Lendl Simmons is threatening to go big, but hasn’t quite been able to yet. He has made scores of 27, 30 and 15 in this series.
  • Hayden Walsh Jr has been all over Australia in this series. His eight wickets have cost just 8.75 apiece, with an economy rate of just 5.83. Expect him to have a say once again.
  • His spin partner, Fabian Allen, has taken three wickets and is a livewire in the field. His catching has been simply brilliant.

Australia:

  • No player has scored more runs than Mitchell Marsh this series, despite his low score last game. His 114 runs features two half-centuries and a strike rate of 134.11.
  • Aaron Finch’s form continues to be a worry for Australia, most evident in his strike rate of just 90.90. With the series now over, will that be the catalyst for Finch to tee off and play a blinder?
  • Matthew Wade has looked in promising form this series without going on to make the big score (scores of 33, 0, 23). If Australia bats first, one can be confident in Wade making a decent contribution. When batting first in T20s, he has scored 1,969 runs at 36.46 (SR 149.05). When batting second, the numbers drop significantly to 17.67 and 117.78 respectively.
  • Mitchell Starc produced his best spell of the series and most economical of his T20I career (1/15). Can he back it up with another strong effort here?
  • Riley Meredith went for over 12 an over last game, but his wicket-taking ability is telling (3/48). Josh Hazlewood still leads the wicket-taking charts for Australia this series (4), but Australia could look at bringing in another spinner.
  • Adam Zampa has been a disappointment for Australia this series. Given West Indies have struggled against wrist-spin in recent times, Zampa’s wicketless series to date is a surprise for many. Can he bounce back?

Stats and Facts

  • West Indies have won their past six T20Is vs Australia, dating back 2012.
  • West Indies have hit 30 sixes in this series to date. Australia just 11.
  • Australia have now lost their past four T20I series (England, India, New Zealand, West Indies).

Possible Playing 11

If Evin Lewis is fit, he should slot in for Andre Fletcher. Also, there are doubts over Obed McCoy’s fitness, as he bowled just the one over in the third T20I. Oshane Thomas could come in.

West Indies: 1. Lendl Simmons, 2. Andre Fletcher/Evin Lewis, 3. Chris Gayle, 4. Shimron Hetmyer, 5. Nicholas Pooran (c & wk), 6. Andre Russell, 7. Dwayne Bravo, 8. Fabian Allen, 9. Hayden Walsh Jr, 10. Obed McCoy/Oshane Thomas, 11. Sheldon Cottrell

Ashton Agar and Ben McDermott reportedly missed the last T20I due to injury, and will be monitored. Also, Australia could look to play an extra spinner.

Australia: 1. Aaron Finch (c), 2. Matthew Wade (wk), 3. Mitchell Marsh, 4. Alex Carey, 5. Moises Henrqiues, 6. Ashton Turner, 7. Dan Christian/Ashton Agar, 8. Mitchell Starc, 9. Riley Meredith, 10. Adam Zampa, 11. Josh Hazlewood/Mitchell Swepson

Daren Sammy National Stadium Pitch Report and Weather

Runs are available, if you’re good enough. West Indies have handled the conditions much better than Australia have. Barring the first 10 overs of the series, Australia have barely been able to get the ball to the boundaries. West Indies will be hoping for more of the same in similar conditions, which should be fine.

How do we revive ODI cricket? Here are 3 ways

How do we revive ODI cricket? Here are 3 ways | 3 ways to revive ODI cricket, which is faltering a little in the era of T20 cricket

The modern era or new era of cricket is that of the T20s. Be it franchise cricket or T20 Internationals, the T20 format is the most popular format of cricket in current times.

So, has Test cricket lost its popularity in this T20 era? Not quite. Test cricket is still as popular as ever because it has its own charm and uniqueness.

One Day cricket, on the other hand, is kind of a mix of both T20 and Tests. It’s not as long as the Test matches but isn’t as short as the T20s either. Surprisingly ODI cricket has lost its popularity, and is often the most irrelevant format in the game.

Decreasing Popularity of ODI Cricket

It’s mostly because of the new rules that were implemented in the past and also due to the rapid rise of the T20 format. Franchise cricket continues to grow rapidly, and Test cricket has its own importance. So, why are ODIs the least popular format at the moment?

You can say that the ODI World Cup is still the most important and popular tournament in cricket. Yes, but what about when there’s no World Cup? When was the last time you witnessed an enthralling, competitive ODI series? You may have to give it some thought and I’m sure that you will recall a series between the big cricketing nations like India, Australia, and England.

It’s clear that ODI cricket is not the same as it was in the past. People who don’t like the One Day format can say that it’s not as competitive and is kind of boring these days and it’s true to an extent too.

One Day Cricket in the current era is the batsman’s game. Everyone likes seeing sixes and fours in a game but most of the ODI games are not competitive as they used to be. Even scores over 330 are mowed down. So how can ODI cricket be relevant again? How can those in suits ensure its revival?

How to Revive ODI Cricket?

The ODI Super League is a terrific concept to help revive ODI cricket. However, there are a few things within the ODI match itself that can be altered to ensure its attractiveness.

1. Ditching Two New Balls

When was the last time you saw reverse swing in a One Day game? I don’t think you can recall it. The art of reverse swing is extinct in ODI cricket. This is because of the two new balls rule, i.e. one ball for each end in ODI cricket, which has resulted in the extinction of reverse swing.

Reverse swing kept the bowlers and the balance between bat and ball in the game. But two new balls, flat pitches, and small boundaries have tilted the game too far towards the favor of the batters. ICC should ditch the two new balls rule in ODIs to keep the format relevant and it will make the matches more interesting for the viewers.

2. More Matches for Associate Nations/Lower-Ranked Teams

Small Nations likes Ireland, Netherlands, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Scotland, and even Sri Lanka Bangladesh should get to play more games against big teams like India, Australia, England, and the others.

In the current times, the big nations mostly play amongst themselves and due to that, the small nations don’t get the chance to play against strong teams. Even teams like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh rarely get to play against the likes of England, Australia, or India.

The ODI Super League will allow more teams to play each other with context, and eventually help the smaller teams, and the game itself, to grow.

Cricket is a very unique sport as it has three different formats and all of them have their own importance.  One Day Cricket is unique too and shouldn’t end up being completely irrelevant as fans have some very fond memories with the format.

3. Return of Batting Powerplay

Batting powerplay was a part of the game until 2015. The batting team had the option to take the batting powerplay in the last 10 overs. Only three fieldiers were allowed outside the 30 yard circle.

It had a different dimension to the game, especially in close chases when the batting side had only one or two batters left at the crease. But in the current situation it needs to be implemented correctly or the game will tilt even more towards the batsmen.

Ditching the two new balls and the (possible) return of reverse-swing will make ODIs even more interesting. The Big Bash League introduced the same concept named as the “Power-Surge” and it surely made the game exciting. Runs were scored but a lot of wickets fell as well during the “power-surge” period. The same effect can happen in ODI cricket, with the fielding captain forced to keep fielders inside the circle, which can also bring about some wickets.

ENG-W vs IND-W 3rd T20 Dream11 Prediction Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report

ENG-W vs IND-W 3rd T20 Dream11 Prediction Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | ENG-W vs IND-W 3rd T20 Dream11 Prediction Today | England Women vs India Women 3rd T20I Key Players | Chelmsford Pitch Report

Can India clinch the T20I series from the hands of England? Or will England finish the tour with two series wins? We shall find out in the third and the final match of an intriguing T20I series on Wednesday.

The T20I series scoreline is locked at 1-1 as India won the close contest by eight runs in the second match. England opener Tammy Beaumont’s half-century went in vain as Deepti Sharma and co. led India to a fantastic victory. Before Tammy’s knock, fans were in awe of young Shafali dominating the experienced English bowlers in a terrific way.

Now, it’s time for the final as we head on to Essex’s county ground at Chelmsford for the final match of the series. Both teams have some areas to work upon in all departments of the game. They have to conquer the pressure and bring their best. Both teams will be eager to finish off in style, so expect a cracker of a contest.

Match Details

  • Match: ENGW vs INDW, 3rd T20I, India Women tour of England, 2021.
  • Date and Time: Wednesday, July 14, 2021. 11 PM (IST), 6.30 PM (Local time).
  • Venue: County Ground, Chelmsford.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

England:

  • With 77 runs in two games, opener Tammy Beaumont has been an exceptional batter for the team England. She gets going on every bowler of the opposition and looks eager for runs. The 30-year old has 285 runs in 13 innings to her name while playing against India.
  • Heather Knight’s associate Nat Sciver looked good in both games. After scoring a stupendous fifty in the initial game of the series, she failed to score big in the second one. But that does not decrease her importance or her ability to destroy the opponent in any matter. She has taken two wickets in the series so far and will be willing to get a couple of those or more.
  • The third-ranked T20I bowler, Sarah Glenn, will again be key and England fans will be hoping the Indian women fall in her leg-break trap. She has taken two wickets in two games so far.
  • England’s WK batter Amy Jones looked confident in both clashes and will look forward to finish things in style. She has scored 54 runs in the series.
  • Sophie Ecclestone has not taken any wicket in the five overs she bowled in the series till now. But she has been economical and also bowled a maiden over in the last game. She can be the key factor of the game and can change the game in a few moments.
  • If we look at her records, she is better at bowling in the 2nd innings (44 wickets in 24 innings) than the 1st (17 wickets in 16 innings). This is a point to be noted if you are playing fantasy.

India:

  • After getting out for a duck in the first game, Shafali Verma smashed the same bowler (K Brunt) for five consecutive fours in the 4th over of the second match. And this tells us how important and self-determined Shafali is. With her important 48 runs, India reached a respectable total and hence won the game.
  • Scoring 49 runs in two games, Smriti Mandana has provided good starts with a good strike rate of 148.48. But she has to stay at the crease longer and lead the batting order. She has scored 366 runs in 12 innings against England.
  • Poonam Yadav and Shikha Pandey are the leading wicket takers from the Indian side with three wickets each. Both of them need to be at their best if India wants to win the game. Poonam has eight whereas Shikha has six wickets to her name against England until now.
  • 21 year-old left-arm spinner Radha Yadav went wicketless in the previous game. She has the responsibility to keep the opposition batters calm and quiet in the middle overs. You will love the below data :
  • Indian all rounder and POM of the previous game, Deepti Sharma, can be the key factor again in the final game. She can bowl some overs and she is good at batting also. She has 10 wickets in 10 innings against England so far. She has to maintain the economy in the final game.

Stats and Facts

  • Head to head: Matches 21, England 16, India 5.
  • In England: Matches 7, ENGW 5, INDW 2
  • Indian women have lost the only match they played back in 2012 at Chelmsford, whereas England women have won eight games out of nine they played at the venue.
  • India’s previous match win was India women’s first T20I win against England in England since August 2006.

Possible Playing 11

England: 1. Danielle Wyatt, 2. Tammy Beaumont, 3. Nat Sciver, 4. Heather Knight (c), 5. Amy Jones (wk), 6. Sophia Dunkley, 7. Katherine Brunt, 8. Sophie Ecclestone, 9. Sarah Glenn, 10. Mady Villiers, 11. Freya Davies/Anya Shrubsole.

India: 1. Smriti Mandana, 2. Shafali Verma, 3. Harleen Deol, 4. Harmanpreet Kaur (c), 5. Deepti Sharma, 6. Richa Ghosh (wk), 7l Sneh Rana, 8. Pooja Vastrakar/Aundhati Reddy, 9. Shikha Pandey, 10. Radha Yadav, 11. Poonam Yadav

County Ground Chelmsford Pitch Report and Weather

The pitch at the County Ground, Chelmsford is a balanced pitch. Both pacers and spinners will get equal help from the pitch. 137 is the average first innings score on the ground. So the toss-winning captain is likely to choose bowling first.

Twitter reactions as new-look England beat Pakistan 3-0

Twitter reactions as new-look England beat Pakistan 3-0 | Fans react on Twitter. Inexperienced England beat Pakistan 3-0 in the ODI series

Unbelievable. England, who started the series with a completely new-look team, have achieved a 3-0 series whitewash.

Their opponents? The current Champions Trophy holders Pakistan, who won the trophy in England.

England’s white-ball depth is just unreal. Only the most optimistic England fan could have even thought of a 3-0 series victory with their whole first squad in isolation. Take a bow, James Vince. Saqib Mahmood should join him. As should Lewis Gregory, Brydon Carse and Phil Salt. The run-chase of 332 from a position of 165/5 shows that an England team, no matter the personnel, are never down and out.

For Pakistan, this series was nothing short of a major disappoinment. Favourites heading into it, they end it with a sense of embarrassment given that the England XI, excluding Ben Stokes, contained just 26 ODIs of experience before the series started.

Worse, of those 26, James Vince accounted for 16.

Despite Babar Azam’s superb 158, Pakistan’s ODI record vs top 4 ranked ODI teams (New Zealand, India, England, Australia) since the start of 2017 makes for even more grim reading. Yes, they won the Champions Trophy in that period, but they haven’t been able to match it with the best teams for long enough. Of 31 completed ODIs, Pakistan have won just six – a win percentage of a shocking 19.35%.

Here are some of the Twitter reactions from England’s superb series whitewash.

Credit to England. A simply superb achievement with such an inexperienced team. For Pakistan, they now have to pick themselves up and perform in the upcoming T20I series; a good test for them ahead of the T20 World Cup.

3 possible debutants for India in the Sri Lanka ODIs

3 possible debutants for India in the Sri Lanka ODIs | Looking at 3 players who could make their ODI debut for India against Sri Lanka

The inexperienced Indian brigade is in Sri Lanka for a white-ball series comprising three ODIs and as many T20Is, starting 18 and 25 July respectively.

With senior players in the UK for the high-profile Test series against England, the second-string Indian team led by Shikhar Dhawan will face the Lankan challenge. The 20-member Indian squad includes as many as six uncapped players who have been selected in the absence of numerous first-choice players.

This series will provide the young cricketers with the stage to impress the national selectors and management ahead of the T20 World Cup in UAE.

ICC Super League points will be up for grabs in the upcoming ODI series, so there is additional motivation for the India players to perform. The Indian team management has already made it clear that the men in blue will be looking to win all the games they will play in Sri Lanka.  Starting with the One-day series, the spotlight will be on the talented uncapped players who will be looking to make the most of the given opportunities in the series. We look at three Indian players who can make their debut for India in the ODI series:

Nitish Rana

The left-hander has made a name for himself by consistently performing well for Delhi in domestic tournaments and also for Kolkata in the IPL. Rana has shown his class and pedigree with the bat, and in the past few seasons has been on the verge of getting a national call, which many believe he should’ve gotten earlier.

The 27-year-old got his fame mainly from the IPL, but his List A record is much better than his IPL and overall T20 record. In 60 List A games, Rana averages 40.4 for his 1940 runs at a strike rate of 84.8. In this year’s domestic one-day competition (Vijay Hazare Trophy), Rana was the top-run getter for Delhi with 398 runs in seven matches at an average of 66.33. With the ability to play spin and seam equally well, Rana can be a perfect bid in India’s new-look middle order in the coming 50-over games.

Krishnappa Gowtham

Unlike many players in the squad, Gowtham didn’t get a single game in the first phase of IPL 2021, which is why his selection raised questions over the criteria of the selections. The Karnataka all-rounder has impressive numbers in List A cricket with the ball. In 47 games, he has bagged 70 wickets at an economy rate of under 5 runs per over.

In addition to picking up wickets, he bats well down the order. He has shown that he can tonk the ball a long way and his career strike rate of over 140 in List A cricket suggests exactly that.

India’s main focus will be centered around the T20 series. Knowing the relevance of the T20 World Cup and India’s first choice pool of players in this format, it is most likely that if Gowtham plays he will get his chance with the one day team. The plus point of Gowtham is that he has got the control while bowling with the new ball and in typical subcontinent conditions in Sri Lanka, you need your slow bowlers to bowl the crucial overs and make use of the conditions.

Ruturaj Gaikwad

Ruturaj often takes his time at the start of his innings, opposite to Sehwag’s approach. He has a measured approach to his game. Even in T20 cricket, he takes a few overs to settle in and the 50-over format gives you a lot of time as a top-order batsman.

Gaikwad, who has been a consistent run-scorer for India A and Maharashtra, has scored 2,681 runs at an average and strike rate of 47.87 and 97.59 respectively in his four-year-long List A career. In 58 innings, the right-handed batsman has scored seven centuries and 16 half-centuries.

He also looked quite good in the intra-squad practice game a few days back. If he somehow managed to catch coach Rahul Dravid’s eyes, then we might see him wearing the blue jersey soon. The Indian team is traveling with too many top-order players, but the experience of playing with India A certainly pushes his case ahead of the other possible debutants.

Guide to Online Cricket Betting: Everything you should know

Guide to Online Cricket Betting: Everything you should know | Online cricket betting tips: Here is everything you need to know to help you

Because of the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic, many of the normal betting systems have shifted into online modes for their customers. Online betting in sports is now becoming a craze among the bettors, who may have used to bet at the physical betting places.

In , the sports games are at their peak to give people the chance earn money. Online sports betting covers every game, including cricket, basketball, football, golf, horseracing, car racing & all the games where people can predict the winners, losers or any event (any reason to place the bet & potentially earn).

Making online bets is quite simple, and online sportsbooks offer many aided advantages (joining bonus, credits, free bets etc.) than the physical bookies. However, the novice online bettors can have some trouble placing bets online as they are new to online betting systems, and need to be aware of a few key things to keep in mind.

To make online betting easier, we are giving you tips and tricks so that you can focus on giving yourself the best chance of making good bets.

Let’s start with the basics of betting odds during any cricket match:

Suppose two teams are set to play the cricket match. Let’s take India & England.

Earlier, bookmakers used to set the betting odds value. In online betting systems, the virtual bookmaker (sportsbooks) calculates & sets the betting odds for the different match results & events.

The betting odds will be set for:

  • India’s win or defeat
  • England’s win or defeat
  • Match draw
Match scenarioBetting Odds
England1.73
India4.50
Draw5.35

How is the payout calculated?

Payout= Wager amount X Betting odds

If you place a bet on India’s win based on the above odds on a wager amount of INR 1000, then you will receive the following if India win:

1000 x 4.50 =4,500.00 (payout)

This would be your winning amount if India win. If you lose the bet, the only wager amount you will get back will depend on the sportsbook’s policies. Some online betting websites may offer your wager amount (INR 1000) back even on losing the bet while some of them deduct a little commission percentage (INR 1000- commission percentage). There are also those betting websites which return back zero amount if you lose the bet.

It depends upon the betting site you pick as different sportsbooks runs with different betting policies for offering winning & losing bets.

But if you bet on England’s win with 500 INR wager, then your amount will be-

500 x 1.73 = 865 (payout)

When match draws-

Your payout on 300 INR wager will be-

300 x 5.35 = 1606.5

Higher betting odds mean the result is less probable in the eyes of the bookmaker. Also, the higher the odds, the higher the payout potential. However, keep in mind that significant research and knowledge should go into making any betting decision.

Types of Popular bets in Cricket:

  1. Straight Bets: Bet on win or defeat of the teams.
  • Proposition bets:
  • Amount of wickets by any bowler
  • No. of sixes/fours by an Indian batsman (This can be Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma or anyone)
  • No. of sixes/fours by an England batsman (Joe Robot, Eoin Morgan, Tom Curran or anyone)
  • Under/Over Bets: Betting on total scores of both the teams (total runs, total 4s, 6s, wickets etc.). The bettors place the bets on under/over scores & try luck on how strong their prediction is.

Tips to use betting odds for your higher ambitions:

  • What is the very first tip about how to win the half battle of online betting? Always pick a website that offers competitive betting odds. Out of the available betting options, you need to pick the right website (that is safe, of course. More here), that offers the same bet with higher betting odds. You will win half the battle already.
  • Betting odds on cricket not only depends on making the wagers & placing the higher wager bets (straight bets or proposition bets), but on picking the right website which offers more payouts (higher betting odds).
  • Your prediction on win or defeat could be 100% right that will make you win the bet but the betting odds will make the difference. The returns on the bets with the highest betting odds are always greater & are compounded in the future if you play for a long term.

How will you find the best cricket sportsbook with higher betting odds?

  1. Search furiously: Picking the right cricket betting site is like shopping from one shop after you have already visited many shops to find the best shirt at the best price. The same concept holds here. In this internet world, there are thousands of betting sites. Explore furiously & pick the one that is offering more betting options at flexibly higher betting odds. Make sure the website is safe and reliable.
  2. Never hurry: Always remember haste makes waste. So don’t rush to put your money in any bet until and unless you are sure about the betting site’s authenticity, reliability, security & paying options.
  3. 24/7 Customer Support: This is a crucial factor you should look at while picking the online betting site. As in online betting, being at home or your place of comfort, you can place the bets in the early morning, afternoon, midnight or any moment. Hence, customer support is viable. If you get jammed while risking your money, the guidance & support will save you. Online sports betting sites have been a new point of focus for punters. Pick the right one accordingly.
  4. Flexible Payment Options:
  5. The sportsbook must support different payment modes as per your comfort. It should allow various modes like bank transfer, Visa Cards, Neteller, ecoPayz, Skrill, UPI, PhonePe, Paytm, Google Pay etc.
  6. Apart from the above-mentioned factors, there are many other factors like freebies, bonuses, credits, etc. but the above-ones are more important than the former.

Hopefully you get a clear idea about the betting odds, calculation of your payouts & returns, and learn the tips for picking the right cricket betting site.

ENG vs PAK 3rd ODI Dream11 Prediction Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report

ENG vs PAK 3rd ODI Dream11 Prediction Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | ENG vs PAK 3rd ODI Dream11 Prediction Today | England vs Pakistan 3rd ODI Key Players | Edgbaston Pitch Report

2-0! Can you believe this scoreline, given the players unavailable for England? England have completely outplayed Pakistan in both ODIs, with the latest being a 52-run victory. The men in green failed to find any way to bounce back after the first match defeat. The Ben Stokes-led team are on a roll, and are ready for the final ODI match of the series in Edgbaston.

Team England, even in the absence of some main players, looked brilliant in the series so far and will be eying towards whitewash over their Asian opponents. Brilliant bowling displays from Saqib Mahmood and Lewis Gregory, with some quickfire knocks from Vince and Salt, made them dominant in the previous game. And they are expected to continue their dream form in the final game.

On the other hand, Team Pakistan have failed to execute their plans out there on the field. Pakistan’s key players like Captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have failed to fulfil the expectations which resulted in the batting collapses of their team. Now, they will be playing just for the points in the World Super League points table, rather than keeping this series alive.

Match Details

  • Match: ENG vs PAK, 3rd ODI, Pakistan tour of England, 2021.
  • Date and Time: Tuesday, July 13, 2021, 5:30PM (IST).
  • Venue: Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Key Players/Key Stats

England:

  • Phil Salt and James Vince were looking good and very much confident in the 2nd ODI. They made a terrific and entertaining partnership of 97 (80) which led their team to a par score. Both are looking in great form and they would wish to repeat their effort of the previous game.
  • Another two fellow Englishmen Dawid Malan and Zak Crawley will be looking to get back on track after their ducks in the previous game. Both of them scored fifties in the initial game of the series and helped their team to achieve a comfortable win.
  • Especially Zak Crawley would be looking to smash his favorite team to bat against. He has 378 runs to his name against PAK in just 4 innings (All formats). Fun fact is that he has 384 runs in 22 innings against teams except PAK. This shows his passion and excellence to play against them.
  • England captain Ben Stokes is very happy with his team’s performance under his captaincy. He scored 22 (26) in the 2nd match and will be looking to build on this. Against Pakistan, Stokes has scored 399 runs at an average of 49.87, and he has scored a century and half-century in three knocks on this ground.
  • England’s new finds of the series, Saqib Mahmood and Lewis Gregory are again expected to take few early wickets and give their team a better start like they did in previous 2 games. Saqib has six and Lewis has four scalps to their name in the series so far. Lewis also scored a brilliant 40-run knock in the previous game. So it promises to be an exciting game for them.

Pakistan:

  • Top-ranked ODI batsman and Pakistan captain Babar Azam has to step up and find some way to play against those pretty inexperienced English bowlers. Babar got out to Saqib Mahmood’s great deliveries in both games. He needs to lead from the front if Pakistan wants to avoid a whitewash. He has scored 658 runs in 18 innings at an avg of 41.12 against England, and has an ODI century on this ground.
  • Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed can get slot in the team for the final game as he has impressed selectors with a string of impressive performances in the domestic matches and PSL. In both the games, Pakistan were reduced to 26/4 and 53/4, and the former captain’s experience could come in handy to weather the storm. He has scored 655 runs in 13 innings vs England at a huge average of 59.54.
  • Hasan Ali was mind blowing in the previous game as he took a brilliant 5-fer in the first innings. He also contributed with the bat in that game scoring a little cameo of 31(17). He has 19 scalps to his name against England so far in 14 ODIs.
  • Shaheen Afridi bowled a fantastic yorker to dismiss Crawley in the previous game and social media was in awe of him for those few minutes. He needs to be at the peak of his bowling quality. Obviously, England conditions suit him the most among all Pakistan bowlers. He has a couple of wickets in this series.

Stats and Facts

  • Head to Head: Matches 90, ENG 55, PAK 32, NR 3.
  • Last 5 matches: England 4, Pakistan 1.
  • Defending World Cup champions England are the toppers of WSL points table. Defending Champions Trophy champions Pakistan are in 4th place. If PAK wins the game, they will move to 3rd place.

WI vs AUS 3rd T20 Dream11 Prediction Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report

WI vs AUS 3rd T20 Dream11 Prediction Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | WI vs AUS 3rd T20 Dream11 Prediction Today | West Indies vs Australia 3rd T20I Key Players | St. Lucia Pitch Report

The trainwreck that is Australia’s Caribbean T20I series has another stop. Now, it’s not a matter of if the Aussies will fire, but rather it’s a necessity that they do to keep the series alive. Their performance in the second T20I was worse than their first from an all-round perspective, going down by a massive 56 runs. From the moment Shimron Hetmyer and Dwayne Bravo got a hold of the Aussie attack – including the out-of-form Mitchell Starc – Australia were never in the game.

Another poor batting display hampered the touring side, who must surely be still scratching their heads as to what their best combinations are. With the T20 World Cup fast approaching, such a predicament is certainly not ideal, but the pressure of keeping a series alive might just be the catalyst for a shift in form.

Don’t tell that to West Indies, though. The men in maroon are coming off their own series defeat against South Africa, and they have gone some way to putting that behind them in this series to date. In both games, the depth of the Windies came to the fore, with Andre Russell, Shimron Hetmyer, Dwayne Bravo and all the bowlers keeping Australia at bay. Do it one more time here and the series will be wrapped up.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

West Indies:

  • Shimron Hetmyer is a danger man in the middle overs of a T20. His 61 off 36 balls won him player of the match in the second T20I, after starts in his previous two T20Is (31 and 20).
  • Andre Russell is enjoying a much better series vs Australia (51 off 28 balls and 24* off 8 balls) than he did against South Africa (62 runs, avg. 15.50). In nine T20s on this ground, Russell strikes at a superb 221.13 per 100 balls. He has also taken two wickets in four overs this series.
  • Time for Lendl Simmons to convert a start? He has made scores of 27 and 30 in this series, getting out just as he was starting to get settled.
  • Dwayne Bravo has been superb with both bat and ball in recent times. He is coming off a score of 47* (34) last game and has taken 11 wickets in his last seven T20Is.
  • Hayden Walsh Jr is enjoying some series. He has taken three wickets in both games (3/23 and 3/29) and he will be looking to do more of the same here.
  • Expect Obed McCoy to return in this game. McCoy has taken 17 wickets in his last nine T20Is (including 4/26 in the first T20I). He has gone wicketless only once in these last nine matches.

Australia:

  • Mitchell Marsh has been a shining light in a terrible tour so far for Australia. Marsh has struck consecutive fifties this series, and three in four innings this tour (including the intra-squad match). He has also taken figures of 2/26 and 1/18.
  • In New Zealand earlier this year, Aaron Finch was under pressure of making scores of 1 and 12 in the first two T20Is. He then bounced back with scores of 69, 79* and 36. Can he do the same here?
  • Back Matthew Wade to score well if Australia bat first. When batting first in T20s, he has scored 1,946 runs at 36.72 (SR 149.12). When batting second, the numbers drop significantly to 17.67 and 117.78 respectively.
  • Josh Hazlewood has taken four wickets in two games this series (3/12 and 1/39). He will be key once again against the Windies top order in the powerplay.
  • Australia’s spinners have been outbowled by the Windies’ spinners this series. So, onus will be on Ashton Agar (20 wickets in last 13 T20Is) and Adam Zampa to step up.

Stats and Facts

  • West Indies have won their past five T20Is against Australia, dating back to 2012.
  • If Australia lose this match, then it will confirm their fourth straight T20I series defeat in a row (England, India, New Zealand, West Indies).
  • Is Chris Gayle on borrowed time? The great T20 batsman has had a tough year in T20Is in 2021 (102 runs in nine innings, avg. 12.75 SR 92.72).

Possible Playing 11

Chris Gayle’s form is a worry for West Indies, so it will be interesting to see if they persist with him. Also, Kieron Pollard’s fitness is being monitored, and Fidel Edwards picked up an arm injury last game.

West Indies: 1. Lendl Simmons, 2. Andre Fletcher, 3. Chris Gayle, 4. Shimron Hetmyer, 5. Dwayne Bravo, 6. Andre Russell, 7. Nicholas Pooran (c & wk), 8. Fabian Allen, 9. Hayden Walsh Jr, 10. Obed McCoy, 11. Sheldon Cottrell/Oshane Thomas

There are murmurs that Ashton Turner could be in line for an opportunity. Australia are in need of a middle order revamp, so a change could take place there. Also, Mitchell Starc’s form is a worry, so it remains to be seen if Australia play him again.

Australia: 1. Aaron Finch (c), 2. Matthew Wade (wk), 3. Mitchell Marsh, 4. Josh Philippe, 5. Moises Henriques, 6. Ben McDermott/Ashton Turner, 7. Dan Christian, 8. Ashton Agar, 9. Mitchell Starc, 10. Adam Zampa, 11. Josh Hazlewood

Daren Sammy National Stadium St. Lucia Pitch Report and Weather

A new pitch will be used for this match, which is likely to play similarly to the first two T20Is. The team batting first has won the last six matches in West Indies, so runs on the board, with dew not really a factor due to the breezy conditions, could be key. A dry evening is forecast.

Australia inspire very little confidence when chasing in T20Is. Also, West Indies have had their recent struggles when batting second. So, batting first could mean another victory here.
