CSK vs PBKS Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – IPL 2026 7th Match

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will lock horns against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 7th game of IPL 2026. MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, will host this game on 3rd April 2026 at 7:30 PM IST.

CSK had a forgettable start to their campaign, bowled out for just 127 runs in their season opener against RR. The batters failed to get going on a tricky surface, and it has raised questions amongst the fans about how the team will perform this season.

Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad will have to take responsibility, and it’ll be interesting to see how long CSK will persist with these two as openers. Ayush Mhatre, Sarfaraz Khan, Kartik Sharma, and Shivam Dube will be the other key batters for CSK. Urvil Patel may come in for Matthew Short for this game.

Bowling-wise, CSK faced a Vaibhav Sooryavanshi storm. However, they were able to create opportunities and must take them today. All in all, it’s high time now that CSK gets going considering their performance in the last two editions of the IPL.

On the other hand, PBLS got off to a great start against the Gujarat Titans. Cooper Connolly (72* runs) single-handedly saw his side over the line. The middle order threw away their wickets, which they’ll want to work on going ahead.

Shreyas Iyer, Priyansh Arya, and Prabhsimran Singh looked in good touch for whatever time they spent on the crease. Punjab has superb depth in their squad with Xavier Bartlett coming to bat at number nine.

However, Arshdeep’s form is a concern, while Yuzvendra Chahal delivered straight away with two wickets. Vijaykumar Vyshak (3/34) also bowled superbly at the death, and he was well supported by Marco Jansen and Bartlett. Punjab will look to continue their winning momentum and register their second consecutive win.

IPL 2026 7th Match: CSK vs PBKS Probable Playing XIIs

Prashant Veer, if fit, should replace Matthew Short from the last XI. If not, then Urvil Patel may replace the Australian all-rounder.

Chennai Super Kings: 1. Sanju Samson (wk), 2. Ruturaj Gaikwad (c), 3. Ayush Mhatre, 4. Matthew Short/Urvil Patel, 5. Sarfaraz Khan, 6. Kartik Sharma, 7. Shivam Dube, 8. Jamie Overton, 9. Khaleel Ahmed 10. Matt Henry, 11. Noor Ahmad

Impact Sub: Anshul Kamboj/Prashant Veer

Punjab Kings: 1. Prabhismran Singh (wk), 2. Priyansh Arya, 3. Cooper Connolly, 4. Shreyas Iyer (c), 5. Nehal Wadhera, 6. Shashank Singh, 7. Marcus Stoinis, 8. Marco Jansen, 9. Xavier Bartlett, 10. Arshdeep Singh, 11. Vijaykumar Vyshak

Impact Sub: Yuzvendra Chahal

Insights that could shape how the CSK vs PBKS match could transpire

Below are some interesting insights that could decide this contest, according to SPODA AI data.

  • Youngster Ayush Mhatre missed out against RR, but he is considered a 62.50% chance of making a 30+ score in this match. Urvil Patel, who has a T20 strike rate of 179.47, is a 55.56% chance.
  • Khaleel Ahmed has a 40.28% chance of taking 2+ wickets. Noor Ahmad (37.50%), Yuzvendra Chahal (35.91%) and Marco Jansen (34.74%) are not far behind.
  • If Punjab Kings lose one wicket in the powerplay, score 50 runs in the death overs, and finish with a score of 200, they have a 71% chance of winning. CSK have the same probability.

MA Chidambaram Stadium Chepauk Chennai Pitch Report and Weather

The wicket at Chepauk is now far from what it was known to be. Now the batters enjoy their time with good bounce on offer so they can play their shots. There is little to no movement for the pacers with the new ball, and the spinners too haven’t found a lot of grip or turn like the old days.

The pitch will be hard, and the batters are expected to dominate the game. Dew has always been a factor at Chennai, so expect teams to chase if they win the toss. The average first innings score here in IPL 2025 was 164 runs, with chasing sides winning four of the six games played here.

A hot and humid day is expected at Chennai with no chance of rain. The weather will be clear with the temperature being around 27-28 degrees Celsius.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for CSK vs PBKS: Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top wicketkeeper Picks:

  • Sanju Samson was dismissed cheaply in the last game, and his record at Chepauk is abysmal – 59 runs in five games at an average of 11.80. But now the conditions at Chepauk are different, and Sanju’s recent form is strong. He will be a must pick.
  • Prabhsimran Singh looked in great touch for his 37 runs against GT. He took on the bowlers and played his shots. CSK bowling isn’t that threatening, so Prabhsimran will be a must-pick.

Key batter picks:

  • Ruturaj Gaiwakd is another top fantasy pick. Gaikwad will have to be cautious against Arshdeep and Marco Jansen, but he’s arguably the best batter for his team, and you can back him for this game.
  • Sarfaraz Khan plays shots all around the ground, and he’s a good player of spin bowling. He can take on the spinners and will be a key player for CSK in the middle overs, especially against Yuzvendra Chahal. He will be an ideal differential pick.
  • Shreyas Iyer looked in good touch in the last game. He will bat positively and can take on the bowlers and score big on his day. Iyer has had his struggles against Khaleel Ahmed, but it is unlikely that he’ll get to face Khaleel early in his innings in this game. Try him as C/VC on your team.
  • Priyansh Arya scored a hundred against CSK in the last edition. He was dismissed cheaply in the first game, but he’s a fine player who’ll look to exploit the field restrictions.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Shivam Dube hit a six and got out on the next delivery. He’ll be a key batter for CSK considering the inexperience before him in the batting unit. Dube can change the course of the game when he gets going. He can also bowl an over or two if needed.
  • Marco Jansen will bowl the key overs and is more than capable with the bat. He bowled really well in the last game and played some crucial shots against GT. Jansen will fancy his chances against CSK’s batting unit. He’ll be a must pick.

Key bowler picks:

  • Noor Ahmad will be CSK’s best bet during the middle overs. He may go for runs occasionally, but he picks up wickets consistently. He went wicketless in the first game, but he’ll be a top fantasy pick.
  • Yuzvendra Chahal picked up a hattrick against CSK in the last edition. While CSK’s middle order is good against spin, Chahal will be top pick considering the fact that the batters will look to attack him. Try him as C/VC in one or two teams.
  • Khaleel Ahmed bowled well in the last game. He can swing the new ball both ways and also picked up wickets upfront in the last edition. He picked up four wickets against PBKS in the two games in IPL 2025.

Other Players to Consider for Your Fantasy Cricket Team

IPL 2026 7th Match: CSK vs PBKS Match Prediction: Who will win?

Punjab Kings are looking much more stable and balanced compared to CSK, who are yet to find their best combination and are struggling with injuries. Punjab Kings will be the favourites to win this game. CSK will have to pick up wickets with the new ball and the batters will have to be at their best if they are to win this game.

Punjab Kings should win this match.

KKR vs SRH Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – IPL 2026 6th Match

The 6th match of IPL 2026 has two teams who lost first up going head to head. Bowling was the concern for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) heading into the season, and that came to fruition in the early part of the tournament with both losing easily despite making 200+ scores.

After a poor start against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), SRH did well to make 201/9 courtesy of the in-form Ishan Kishan and talented Aniket Verma. However, their bowlers did not fire a shot after dismissing Phil Salt early, with RCB reaching the target with a mammoth 26 balls to spare.

So, how do SRH bounce back at the batting-friendly Eden Gardens? More output from their top order is crucial, as that will translate into a huge score. Also, a lot rests on Jaydev Unadkat, David Payne and Harshal Patel from a wicket-taking perspective.

KKR, on the other hand, ran into a Mumbai Indians (MI) storm on Sunday. Their score of 220 went from “solid” to “not enough” very quickly as Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma blew them away. KKR’s bowlers often erred too short, so that is an area for improvement. However, like SRH, KKR’s best bet is a huge batting effort, so we could be in for a very high-scoring encounter.

IPL 2026 6th Match: KKR vs SRH Possible Playing XIIs

It will be interesting to see whether both teams give another chance to the same XI or make any changes.

Kolkata Knight Riders: 1. Ajinkya Rahane (c), 2. Finn Allen (OS, wk), 3. Cameron Green (OS), 4. Angkrish Raghuvanshi, 5. Rinku Singh, 6. Ramandeep Singh, 7. Sunil Narine (OS), 8. Anukul Roy, 9. Varun Chakravarthy, 10. Vaibhav Arora, 11. Blessing Muzarabani (OS), 12. Kartik Tyagi

Sunrisers Hyderabad: 1. Travis Head (OS), 2. Abhishek Sharma, 3. Ishan Kishan (c & wk), 4. Nitish Kumar Reddy, 5. Heinrich Klaasen (OS), 6. Salil Arora, 7. Aniket Verma, 8. Harsh Dubey, 9. Harshal Patel, 10. David Payne (OS), 11. Jaydev Unadkat, 12. Eshan Malinga (OS)

Eden Gardens Kolkata Pitch Report and Weather

Expect a batting paradise. The average first innings score at Eden Gardens in IPL 2025 was 199.42. Teams batting first won four of the six completed matches.

Spinners fared much better than pacers at Eden Gardens last season. Left-arm orthodox and chinaman bowlers went for under eight an over. Legspinners conceded 8.50 per over. Pace went for over 10.50.

A warm and clear night is forecast in Kolkata. Temperatures will be around 26 degrees during the match hours.

Insights that could shape how the KKR vs SRH match could transpire

Below are some interesting insights that could decide this contest, according to SPODA AI data.

  • Angkrish Raghuvanshi has the highest probability of making a 30+ score (43.38%). Finn Allen is next with 41%, followed by Ajinkya Rahane with 40.63%.
  • We could see massive powerplays in this game. KKR have struck an average of 76.6 runs in the first six overs across their last five games at Eden Gardens. The corresponding figure for SRH is 78.4.
  • Eshan Malinga has a 54.55% chance of taking 2+ wickets. David Payne (41.24%), Harshal Patel (36.29%) and Varun Chakravarthy (35.45%) are next.
  • KKR have taken 12 powerplay wickets in their last five matches at Eden Gardens.

For more such information, check out SPODA AI below.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for KKR vs SRH: Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top wicketkeeper picks:

  • Finn Allen smashed 100 off 33 balls in his last innings at Eden Gardens – the T20 World Cup Semi-Final against South Africa. RCB took the SRH attack apart, and Allen can do the same.
  • Ishan Kishan is having a year to remember. The SRH captain has smashed 612 runs in all T20s in 2026 at an average of 43.7 and strike rate of 207.5. This includes 80 (37) in the tournament opener against RCB.
  • Heinrich Klaasen against KKR: 8 inns, 319 runs, avg. 63.8, SR 186.5. He has outstanding head-to-head numbers against Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy (see below).
  • Angrish Raghuvanshi hit 50 (32) against SRH last season at Eden Gardens. He is coming off a half-century against MI in the first match.

Key batter picks:

  • Since the start of 2025, Ajinkya Rahane has scored 457 runs in the IPL at an average of 38.1 and strike rate of 150.3. Since 2023, he is striking at 170.5 in the powerplay.
  • Travis Head struck 76 (40) in his last meeting against KKR. He can go big on this ground, but his matchups against Vaibhav Arora and Varun Chakravarthy are key.
  • Abhishek Sharma has such a high ceiling, which makes him a top Dream11 pick even if his form is up and down. He averages just 16.6 in 11 innings against KKR – can he turn this around?

Top allrounder picks:

  • It is unlikely that Cameron Green will bowl in this match (details here), although he did bowl in the nets. But, he can provide plenty of value with the bat. He looked in promising form in the opening match against MI (18 off 10) and has 725 runs at 40.27/154.25 overall in the IPL.

Key bowler picks:

Varun Chakravarthy has been expensive since the midway point of the T20 World Cup. But, he enjoys bowling at Eden Gardens with 34 wickets in 24 T20s. Also, he dismissed Travis Head twice in three balls in international cricket in 2025.

Other Players to Consider for your Fantasy Cricket Teams

  • SRH is not one of Sunil Narine’s favourite opponents (17 wickets in 27 innings, avg. 41.2, SR 36.7). But, he’s taken six wickets in his last 20 overs against them (SR 20) and has 73 IPL wickets at Eden Gardens (66 inns, avg. 22.4, SR 20.7).
  • Vaibhav Arora took figures of 3/29 and 1/39 against SRH in 2025. He has dismissed Travis Head twice in 11 balls, conceding 24 runs. He has also kept Abhishek Sharma quiet, with overall figures of 1/18 off 26 balls. Two interesting matchups await.
  • Harshal Patel is key to SRH’s chances. He is selected in 50% of Dream11 teams as he bowls in the death overs. He averages 45.2 with an economy of 10.76 in six IPL matches at Eden Gardens.
  • Jaydev Unadkat has dismissed Ajinkya Rahane four times in 39 balls in the IPL (37 runs).
  • Rinku Singh can provide the fireworks in the middle order. The key question is how much of an opportunity he will get to bat.

Why didn’t Cooper Connolly bowl for PBKS against GT in the IPL?

Cooper Connolly is the new talk of the town after he scored 72* runs off just 44 deliveries on his IPL debut against the Gujarat Titans. He guided Punjab Kings to victory after the team found themselves in a tricky situation during their chase of 163.

Connolly has been rated very highly by many. He first made his name in the BBL 12 (2022-23) final, where he scored 25* off just 11 deliveries to seal the deal for the Perth Scorchers against the Brisbane Heat.

He’s now a key member of the Perth Scorchers setup and also continued his terrific form in the Indian Premier League as well. The 22-year-old has already made his international debut in all three formats for Australia.

Connolly will bat at number three for the Punjab Kings and will be a key batter for them, especially after his heroics in the first game against GT.

Cooper Connolly can’t bowl for at least the first 7 games in IPL 2026

Apart from his batting prowess, Cooper Connolly also bowls left-arm orthodox, which makes him a very valuable pick for any team. However, he’s currently recovering from a back injury, and he’s not allowed to bowl for at least sevem games in the IPL before he’s fully fit.

Cricket Australia (CA) has confirmed this, which means that the all-rounder won’t be able to bowl until the end of April 2026 and will play as a specialist batter till then.

It’s exactly the same situation with Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, who’s part of the Kolkata Knight Riders for IPL 2026. The Aussie all-rounder will bat at three and won’t bowl for a few more matches due to his recovery from injury.

This had created a controversy after KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane said “Ask Cricket Australia” on why Green is not bowling to which Cricket Australia had issued a statement.

Australia back Cameron Green, likely to play against Bangladesh in August

All-rounder Cameron Green has got the backing of the Australian team management. He’s likely to feature in the XI when Australia takes on Bangladesh in the two-match Test series later this year.

Green, who has even batted at number three in Tests, had a forgettable Ashes. He scored 171 runs in eight innings at an average of 24.42, with his highest score being 45 runs.

Green had back surgery towards the end of 2024. He returned to the national T20I side with excellent numbers in 2025 but failed to replicate that in 2026. He averages 45.52 in First Class cricket and 53.38 in Sheffield Shield.

‘Only a matter of time before Cameron Green starts performing for Australia’: Australian head coach backs all-rounder for Bangladesh series

Australia’s head coach Andrew McDonald said they have the intention to continue picking Green despite his disappointing form. This is especially the case given Usman Khawaja retired following the 2025/26 Ashes series. said on SEN radio,

“I think the answer to that is, yes. I’ve got to talk to the selectors around that, there’s a couple of others on the panel,” McDonald said on SEN radio, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

“But if you looked at the last team, let’s just take that. Usman has retired, and he vacates the No. 5 position where he was opening, and he went to five to finish off. But you’ve got Webster and Green that potentially can play in the same team, should we see it that way, so that gives us incredible flexibility.”

The head coach also talked about Green’s performance in the Sheffield Shield, and they’re looking at his Shield numbers and how he’s better than the others.

“But I think he’s (Cameron Green) good enough. Anyone that’s averaging that at the Shield level suggests that he’s ahead of the pack there, and it’s only a matter of time before it gets to a situation where he’s performing for Australia,” McDonald said.

“I think he’s got a few things to work on around his game, but that’s no different to anyone else.

“We’re talking about Shield runs, and he goes back to Shield cricket and gets 100 straight away. He averages 50-plus in Shield cricket, where everyone else is averaging 35. So, to me, it’s only a matter of time before that connects into Test cricket,” he said.

McDonald also reflected on the expectations from the all-rounder and how he’s expected to play all three formats, which is a big challenge for any player. He was positive that Cameron Green will succeed at the international level.

LSG vs DC Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – IPL 2026 5th Match

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will meet Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium in Lucknow in the 5th match of IPL 2026. Both franchises will look to start off their campaign with a win, and it promises to be a thrilling game between two evenly-matched sides.

LSG won six of the 14 matches last season and finished seventh. They have a very explosive batting unit with the likes of Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant, Nicholas Pooran, and Aiden Markram being their key batters.

They have an all-Indian bowling attack, spearheaded by Mohammed Shami alongside Avesh Khan and Mayank Yadav. Anrich Nortje is the only overseas bowler in the LSG squad.

Digvesh Rathi, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Manimaran Siddharth are their spinners, with Aiden Markram also chipping in when required. Overall, batting is LSG’s strong suit but they have a promising bowling unit to go complement the batters.

On the other hand, it’s another shot at their much-awaited first IPL title for DC. They just missed out on the playoffs in the last season, finishing fifth.

KL Rahul, Axar Patel, Tristan Stubbs, David Miller, Ashutosh Sharma, Pathum Nissanka, and Abhishek Porel are their key batters. They will miss the services of Mitchell Starc, as he’s currently unavailable due to injury.

Karun Nair and Nitish Rana will have to do well if DC are to qualify for the playoffs this season. Vipraj Nigam, Dushmantha Chameera, T Natarajan, Kyle Jamieson, and Lungi Ngidi form their bowling attack. Kuldeep Yadav will be their lead spinner alongside skipper Axar Patel.

DC’s squad looks good, but they could lack that X-factor with both the bat and the ball. They must perform as a unit to go a long way in IPL 2026.

IPL 2026 5th Match: LSG vs DC Probable Playing XIIs

Lucknow Super Giants: 1. Aiden Markram, 2. Mitchell Marsh, 3. Rishabh Pant (c & wk), 4. Nicholas Pooran, 5. Ayush Badoni, 6. Arjun Tendulkar, 7. Abdul Samad, 8. Shahbaz Ahmed, 9. Mohammed Shami, 10. Avesh Khan, 11. Digvesh Rathi

Impact Sub: Mohsin Khan/Prince Yadav

Delhi Capitals: 1. KL Rahul (wk), 2. Karun Nair, 3. Nitish Rana, 4. Axar Patel, 5. David Miller, 6. Tristan Stubbs, 7. Ashutosh Sharma, 8. Vipraj Nigam, 9. Kuldeep Yadav, 10. Mukesh Kumar, 11. Lungi Ngidi/Dushmantha Chameera

Impact Sub: Pathum Nissanka/T Natarajan

Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium Lucknow Pitch Report and Weather

The pitch at Lucknow will be a batting paradise. The ball will come onto the bat nicely, allowing the batters to play their shots. Expect a high-scoring encounter with the batters dominating the match. The big dimensions here will bring the spinners into the game.

The average first innings score here was 187 runs in IPL 2025, with chasing sides winning six of the seven matches played at the venue. Teams will prefer chasing in this game too.

A hot, humid day will await both teams at Lucknow. The temperature will be around 30 degrees Celsius, and dew shouldn’t affect the game that much.

Insights that could shape how the LSG vs DC match could transpire

Below are some interesting insights that could decide this contest, according to SPODA AI data.

  • KL Rahul has a 49.63% chance of making a 30+ score.
  • Domestic star Auqib Nabi has a 42.86% chance of taking 2+ wickets.
  • LSG average 97.6 runs scored in the middle overs in their past five games. The corresponding figure for DC is 79.2.

For more such information, check out SPODA AI below.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for LSG vs DC: Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top Wicket-Keeper Picks:

  • Rishabh Pant had a poor campaign last year, but he scored an excellent century in LSG’s last game of the season. Pant has been out of action for a while now, but he’s a proven match-winner and will be a must in your fantasy teams. Try him as C/VC too.
  • Nicholas Pooran will bat at 4 for LSG. He smashes spinners and can win games on his own when he gets going. He scored 524 runs in 14 games at an average of 43.66 at a rate of 196.25 with five fifties in IPL 2025.
  • KL Rahul scored 539 runs in 13 matches at an average of 53.90 at a strike rate of 149.72 with one century and three fifties in IPL 2025. Rahul scored a match-winning fifty against his former side in the last edition, and he’ll look to do the same in this game too. He’s expected to open this season, which makes him an ideal C/VC pick.

Key batter picks:

  • Mitchell Marsh was LSG’s highest run-scorer in the last edition – 627 runs in 13 innings at an average of 48.23, a strike rate of 163.70 with one century and five fifties. Marsh has looked in great touch during the warmups and will be the best C/VC pick.
  • David Miller will be a key player for DC in the middle order. He was in good form in the recently concluded ICC T20 WC 2026. Miller has improved his game against the spinners considerably and will be a top fantasy pick.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Aiden Markam made five fifties in the 445 runs he scored in the last edition. He’s been in terrific form lately and will be a no-brainer for your fantasy teams. He can bowl off-spin too against Delhi’s left-hand batters. Another excellent C/VC choice.
  • Axar Patel scored 253 runs and took five wickets in the last edition. He’ll be a key batter for his side with both bat and ball. Axar can trouble LSG’s openers with his left-arm orthodox. He will fetch points from both bat and ball.

Key bowler picks:

  • Kuldeep Yadav is a wicket-taker in the middle overs and will be a crucial bowler for his side, especially against the likes of Rishabh Pant and Nicholas Pooran. He picked up 15 wickets in the last edition – the highest for his team.
  • Digvesh Rathi can bowl in any phase of the innings, including the death overs. He took 14 wickets in IPL 2025. Rathi will trouble DC’s middle order and will be an ideal differential pick.

Other Players to Consider for Your Fantasy Cricket Team

  • Avesh Khan
  • Mayank Yadav

IPL 2026 5th Match: LSG vs DC Match Prediction: Who will win?

Both teams have some quality players, but Delhi Capitals seem to be too dependent on a handful of players. They have depth in their squad but lack quality. LSG, on the other hand, has good quality with both bat and ball. They might lack batting depth, but their top four are amongst the world’s best at the moment.

Considering team balance and depth, Lucknow Super Giants should win this match.

Who will open the batting for Australia in the Tests against Bangladesh? Jake Weatherald likely

Jake Weatherald is likely to retain his position as Australia Test opener for the two-match series against Bangladesh in August.

Weatherald was selected for the Ashes based on strong form in First Class cricket. The left-hander averaged 50.33 in the 2024/25 Sheffield Shield season.

However, he struggled in the Ashes, scoring 201 runs in 10 innings against an inconsistent England attack. Weatherald crossed 50 just once, with his technique exposed against the incoming delivery.

Jake Weatherald likely to open against Bangladesh in August despite shaky Ashes series

Despite Weatherald’s struggle, it is expected that the selectors will give him first crack at the opener’s role in the first of a potential 21 Tests in 12 months for Australia.

A CODE Sports report revealed Weatherald is included in Australia’s contract list for next season. Matt Renshaw, considered a strong candidate for the role, will reportedly not be offered a central contract. This was confirmed by Cricket Australia on Wednesday 1st April.

Weatherald will play red-ball cricket for Leicestershire for the first few rounds of the 2026 County Championship season. A good run of form in England will further push his case for selection against Bangladesh.

“I’m absolutely buzzing to join Leicestershire for this first block of the County Championship,” Weatherald said, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

“It’s my first taste of county cricket, and honestly, I couldn’t be more excited. Everyone I’ve spoken to has talked about how special the county circuit is — the history, the crowds, the grind — and I’m really looking forward to being part of that. I can’t wait to meet the lads, settle in, and hopefully make a real impact for the Foxes.”

As per the CODE Sports report, Weatherald will be one of 21 players to receive a contract.

Jake Weatherald, Travis Head, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Cameron Green, Alex Carey, Josh Inglis, Beau Webster, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon, Scott Boland, Michael Neser, Brendan Doggett, Matt Kuhnemann, Todd Murphy, Mitchell Marsh, Adam Zampa, Nathan Ellis, Xavier Bartlett

List of England players who have spoken out against the Brendon McCullum and Rob Key management

In light of members of the England management – namely Brendon McCullum and Rob Key – keeping their jobs following a poor Ashes series, a number of players have spoken out against the regime.

After Liam Livingstone made scathing claims in mid-March, a host of other cricketers have shared similar insights. The common themes include how they were treated plus the lack of attention to detail, which was on display during England’s awful 4-1 defeat down under.

Footage has also emerged in recent days of Rob Key’s appearance on the Stick To Cricket podcast, which do no favours in beating the allegations of poor focus on tactics and technique.

In addition, members of counties have expressed their disappointment. Sussex coach Paul Farbrace shed light on the disconnect between county cricket and the England team, claiming head coach McCullum “makes no contact with people.”

England players who have criticised the management

Liam Livingstone

In an interview with ESPNcricinfo published on March 16, Liam Livingstone says he was told he “cares too much” when requesting advice from coaches. He also claimed the management only cares about players in the squad and labelled the 2025 Champions Trophy “the worst experience” of his career spanning 100 internationals.

“I was asking for help and pretty much all I got was that I care too much and I need to chill out a little bit, and everything will take care of itself,” he said.

When Livingstone was dropped for England’s series against West Indies in May 2025, he sought an answer he did not get.

“I don’t think it [the call] would have reached a minute [with Brendon McCullum]. I asked why; they said they wanted to try someone else. That was off Baz. Wrighty [outgoing selector Luke Wright] didn’t reach out, and Brooky [captain Harry Brook] sent me a text,” Livingstone said.

“That probably sums that group up as a collective. Keysy said nothing – [he] said I’ll speak to you in the summer. I actually rang him one day, and he said he was busy at a Test camp at Loughborough. And then I didn’t hear off him until the end of September.

“That was a bit of an eye-opening experience about the group and the regime: if you’re in, you’re in, and if you’re not in, no-one cares about you. That put my mind at ease that my cricket was going to be more enjoyable going forward.”

Then, in a shocking revelation, Livingstone alleges that Rob Key said he had “100 more important things to do than speak to you” when the all-rounder asked the managing director about the lack of communication.

Reece Topley

Left-arm seam bowler Reece Topley believes Livingstone was kind in his comments. In an interview with The Cricketer, Topley said the all-rounder was not alone in his thoughts on the management.

“I think Liam Livingstone has been a bit kind with his views on the England management; shall we leave it like that?” Topley said.

“But I’m not surprised by what he said. The communication hasn’t been great for me, either. But when you appoint a manager who has no experience of management, what do you expect?

“He [assumption is Rob Key] knows what I think. We have mutual friends, and out of respect to them, I don’t want to say any more. But Livingstone isn’t the only one thinking those things.”

Ben Foakes

Further to England’s decision to not have a fielding coach for the Ashes, Ben Foakes’ statements on the coaching appointments are damning.

Foakes, considered one of the finest wicket-keepers in world cricket, shed light on the shocking attention to detail during England’s tour of Pakistan in 2022.

“I found it difficult not having someone [a specialist keeping coach]. In Pakistan, Keaton Jennings was my keeping coach,” Foakes said in an interview with The Cricketer.

Foakes then revealed he spoke to management on the issue. However, he claims to have received pushback.

“I did bring it up, but they didn’t want that sort of culture. They want to tighten it. They wanted everyone to kind of muck in for each other,” Foakes said.

Jonny Bairstow

Jonny Bairstow, one of the early stars of Bazball, shared similar views to Livingstone.

“You need the care back in the game. It is OK saying people care about things – no they don’t,” Bairstow said, as quoted by BBC.

“If you are in the system, you are in the system. As soon as you are out of the system, you are out of the system.”

Bairstow also highlighted the lack of accountability in the squad.

“As soon as you don’t have people chasing you up your back side you become comfortable,” he said.

“When you become comfortable you become complacent, and when someone questions you directly you are not used to it because you are in an environment that is potentially not questioning you in a different way.”

David Willey

To top it off, England’s hierarchy need “more emotional intelligence”, said David Willey.

Why didn’t Cameron Green bowl for KKR against MI in IPL 2026?

Australian all-rounder Cameron Green was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders for a whopping INR 25.50 crores in the last IPL auction. KKR lost their IPL 2026 season opener by six wickets against the Mumbai Indians, where they failed to defend 220 runs.

Cameron Green scored 18 runs off 10 deliveries, but the talking point of the whole game was that the Aussie all-rounder didn’t bowl in the match. Green bowls right-arm fast medium at a decent pace and can hit the deck with his height.

Everyone, including Kevin Pietersen in the commentary box, was confused as to why Green didn’t bowl even a single over in the game, especially after he claimed to be fully bowling fit for the IPL ahead of the IPL 2026 auction.

Cameron Green did not bowl: Ajinkya Rahane says, ‘ask Cricket Australia’

After the game, KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane was asked this question about Green not contributing with the ball, to which he said, ‘Ask Cricket Australia.’ After this, Cricket Australia released a statement saying that the all-rounder is at the moment dealing with a ‘minor back complaint,’ and the Kolkata Knight Riders were briefed about the details.

“Cameron has a lower back injury that is being managed but requires him to abstain from bowling for a short period,” said CA in a statement, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

“Cameron is currently rebuilding his bowling loads in India with a view to return in around 10-12 days’ time. KKR has been communicated with and is fully aware of this information.”

Ajinkya Rahane also acknowledged the fact that KKR’s bowling will be more balanced when Green starts to bowl. KKR batted well, but they were ineffective with the ball, including their two spinners – Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy.

Green is a crucial player for 3-time champions with both bat and ball, and they’ll hope that he becomes bowling fit quickly to support their already bleak bowling unit for IPL 2026.

PBKS vs GT Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – IPL 2026 4th Match

The 4th match of IPL 2026 has the makings of a classic. Reigning finalists Punjab Kings (PBKS) are one of the powerhouse teams this season, retaining the strong core that served them well in 2025. Under the leadership of Ricky Ponting and Shreyas Iyer, they’ll be looking to make a strong start in a campaign where expectations are high.

Their first task is against the capable Gujarat Titans (GT). GT sat top of the table for most of the 2025 campaign before falling away late and losing in the Eliminator. They also have a settled core, with plenty of experience and know-how in their lineup.

So, where will this match be decided? For GT, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan is a prolific opening partnership in terms of runs, but can they blow attacks away? Can Jos Buttler rediscover his best form after a terrible T20 World Cup? How will the middle order perform and can GT’s attack limit PBKS at the death?

For PBKS, how well will the all-rounders perform? Does Azmatullah Omarzai or Cooper Connolly get first crack? Also, in Marco Jansen, Arshdeep Singh and Xavier Bartlett, PBKS have excellent powerplay options, so their battle against the GT top order is one to watch.

IPL 2026 4th Match: PBKS vs GT Possible Playing XIIs

Punjab Kings: 1. Priyansh Arya, 2. Prabhsimran Singh (wk), 3. Shreyas Iyer (c), 4. Nehal Wadhera, 5. Azmatullah Omarzai (OS), 6. Marcus Stoinis (OS), 7. Shashank Singh, 8. Marco Jansen (OS), 9. Harpreet Brar, 10. Arshdeep Singh, 11. Xavier Bartlett (OS), 12. Yuzvendra Chahal

The case of Shimron Hetmyer – What’s the best XI for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026?

The Rajasthan Royals were the most explosive team at the start of an innings in IPL 2025. They posted the highest Powerplay strike rate in the tournament at 174.40 — comfortably ahead of second-placed PBKS (157.35) — while averaging a strong 48.83. With Yashasvi Jaiswal and the prodigious Vaibhav Suryavanshi leading the charge, RR often raced to 60+ in the first six overs.

But the momentum evaporated as the innings progressed. In the middle overs, RR recorded the third-worst strike rate (140.17) and the second-worst average (26.13) in the league. The death overs were even more concerning: the second-worst strike rate (164.55) and a dismal average of just 15.75.

The struggle was especially acute in the first half of the season, when the middle-overs strike rate dipped to a painful 131.90. It improved to 148.45 in the second half, thanks largely to Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s mid-season introduction and Riyan Parag’s resurgence (from 93 runs at a strike rate of 122 in the first half to 172 runs at 193 in the second). Yet the inability to finish strongly remained a season-long Achilles’ heel.

Shimron Hetmyer: A key player for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026

Enter the 2026 squad rebuild — and the big tactical opportunity for Shimron Hetmyer.

Last season, Hetmyer batted in the lower-middle order and had an underwhelming campaign by his standards, averaging just 21.73 at a strike rate of 145.73. Those numbers, however, mask his proven pedigree. Across 58 IPL innings at No. 5 or 6, he has accumulated 1,128 runs at an average of 31.33 and a blistering strike rate of 160. He has been one of the league’s most reliable finishers this decade.

The case to bat Shimron Hetmyer at number 3

The real Hetmyer, though, emerges higher up. As the recent T20 World Cup demonstrated, when he bats at No. 3, he transforms into a different player. For a team that has shown elite intent in the Powerplay but has struggled badly in the middle overs, promoting Hetmyer to No. 3 could solve two problems at once: it brings out his best version and strengthens a fragile middle phase.

But what about the death overs, where RR also faltered? The good news is they no longer need Hetmyer to anchor the finish. The franchise has significantly strengthened the lower order.

Donovan Ferreira gives them a genuine lower-order power-hitter. In T20 cricket since 2024, he has hammered along at a strike rate of 175.73, smashing 127 sixes and 104 fours in just 85 innings. Add Dasun Shanaka, another capable pace-hitter, plus the depth provided by Ravindra Jadeja at No. 8 and Jofra Archer at No. 9, and RR suddenly have the cushion they lacked in 2025.

XII 1:

  1. Yashasvi Jaiswal
  2. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
  3. Shimron Hetmyer
  4. Riyan Parag
  5. Dhruv Jurel
  6. Donovan Ferreira
  7. Dasun Shanaka
  8. Ravindra Jadeja
  9. Jofra Archer
  10.  Ravi Bishnoi
  11.  Sandeep Sharma
  12.  Tushar Deshpande

The top four can dominate from the outset and through the middle overs, while Ferreira and Shanaka provide the finishing punch. With seven bowling options, this XI offers excellent balance.

How the Royals can bat Shimron Hetmyer at number 3 and add extra firepower in their bowling attack

However, one key question remains: who shares the new ball with Jofra Archer?

While RR’s batting in the Powerplay was explosive, their bowling in the Powerplay in 2025 was a weakness. They registered the third-worst average (46.12) and the worst strike rate (29.65) in the first six overs. Archer picked up six Powerplay wickets at an economy of 8.12 but received little support from the other end.

Sandeep Sharma remains one of the most successful Powerplay bowlers in IPL history (fourth on the all-time Powerplay wickets list with 62 scalps at an economy of 6.99). However, he no longer operates as frequently with the new ball, and even when he does, he has managed just nine Powerplay wickets in 77 overs since 2021 at an average of 59.9 — economical, but rarely a wicket-taker.

Tushar Deshpande can do a job but proved unreliable last season, leaking runs at an economy of 11.09 across 11 Powerplay overs.

This is where Option 2 becomes attractive.

By benching Dasun Shanaka and trusting one of RR’s young Indian finishers, the Royals can bring in an extra specialist pacer — most likely Nandre Burger, a fiery tall left-arm seamer who swings the ball at high pace and generates steep bounce, complementing the right-arm seamer, Archer.

Shubham Dubey has been effective in the death overs in his short IPL career — 91 runs off just 47 balls at a strike rate of 193.6 in overs 16-20.

Ravi Singh, the left-handed wicketkeeper-batter, offers similar explosiveness: 218 runs in SMAT 2025 at an average of 36.33 and a strike rate of 173.02 while batting at No. 5/6.

XII 2:

  1. Yashasvi Jaiswal
  2. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
  3. Shimron Hetmyer
  4. Riyan Parag
  5. Dhruv Jurel
  6. Donovan Ferreira
  7. Shubham Dubey/Ravi Singh
  8. Ravindra Jadeja
  9. Jofra Archer
  10.  Nandre Burger
  11.  Ravi Bishnoi
  12.  Sandeep Sharma

With Archer, Burger, and Sandeep bowling in the first six overs, RR gain much-needed variety and wicket-taking threat in the Powerplay, while still maintaining strong finishing depth through Ferreira, Dubey/Ravi, and Jadeja.

After a 2025 campaign where brilliant starts too often faded into disappointing finishes, Rajasthan Royals appear to have built a more complete, balanced, and dangerous squad for 2026. The big question now is which path captain Riyan Parag and the coaching staff will choose.
