Pakistan is scheduled to visit New Zealand to play three T20Is and two Test matches starting from December 18 to January 17. The team will follow 14 days Covid-19 protocols and stay in Lincoln as they reach New Zealand in the last week of November. According to the schedule, Auckland, Hamilton and Napier will host three T20I matches from December 18 to 22, while Mount Maunganui and Hagley Oval in Christchurch will host one Test match each starting from January 3, 2021.
“It’s always a pleasure to host the Pakistan cricket team in New Zealand and I know there will be a lot of interest in the Test and T20 series. Pakistan touring sides have been coming here since 1965 and many New Zealanders have grown up watching the likes of Hanif Mohammad, Majid Khan, Zaheer Abbas, Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and of course, the great Imran Khan in action. I’m sure the squads coming out here this summer will be similarly steeped in talent and class and will continue the great legacy that is Pakistan cricket”, said NZC chief executive, David White.
Reportedly, as number of transmission has reduced in NZ, the bio-secure bubble won’t be arranged after the 14 day quarantine. Beside border control measures, large cities are back to normal with minimal restriction. Pakistan Cricket Board issued a statement saying that their A team will also travel to NZ and the details of it will be revealed over the course of time. Prior to this, Pakistan levelled three match T20I series with England, which ended on September 5.
